1. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वृद्ध दिवस: 1 अक्टूबर

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वृद्ध दिवस हर साल 1 अक्टूबर को मनाया जाता है।

• 14 दिसंबर, 1990 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 1 अक्टूबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वृद्ध दिवस के रूप में संकल्प 45/106 में दर्ज करने के लिए मतदान किया।
• 1 अक्टूबर 1991 को पहली बार यह दिवस मनाया गया था।
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वृद्ध दिवस 2017 का विषय है “Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society”।

2. संयुक्त अरब अमीरात तंबाकू, ऊर्जा पेय पर 'सिन' कर लगायेगा

संयुक्त अरब अमीरात ने तम्बाकू उत्पादों, ऊर्जा पेय और शीतल पेय पर नया "सिन" कर लगाने का फैसला लिया है।

• तंबाकू और ऊर्जा पेय पर 100 प्रतिशत और शीतल पेय पर 50 प्रतिशत कर लगाया जाएगा।
• संयुक्त अरब अमीरात और अन्य तेल-संपन्न खाड़ी देशों ने कम वैश्विक ऊर्जा की कीमतों के चलते नए कर का प्रावधान किया है।

3. नेपाल, भारत पहली बार संयुक्त बाघ गणना करेंगे

पहली बार, नेपाल और भारत अगले महीने अपने राष्ट्रीय उद्यानों, जंगलों और संरक्षित क्षेत्रों में एक संयुक्त बाघ जनगणना करेंगे।

• बाघ की हरकतों को पकड़ने और ट्रैक करने के लिए संरक्षित अधिकारियों और विशेषज्ञों ने बाघ के निवास स्थान के विभिन्न स्थानों और बफर जोन में कैमरे स्थापित किए हैं।
• बाघों की गिनती नवंबर के दूसरे सप्ताह से शुरू होगी।

4. भारत सरकारों के विश्व सम्मेलन में अतिथि देश के रूप में चुना गया

विश्व की सरकारों के शिखर सम्मेलन ने घोषणा की कि भारत आगामी सभा में एक अतिथि देश है।

• वार्षिक सभा 11 से 13 फरवरी, 2018 के लिए निर्धारित है।
• शिखर सम्मेलन के मुताबिक, भारत के मानद मेहमान देश की उभरती आर्थिक विकास को प्रदर्शित करने, मूल्यवान ज्ञान, कौशल और क्षमताओं को उजागर करने और देश की अनूठी संस्कृति पर विस्तार करने के लिए विश्व सरकारों  के शिखर सम्मेलन के समकक्ष वक्ताओं की उल्लेखनीय सूची में शामिल होंगे।

5. विश्व शिक्षक दिवस: 5 अक्टूबर

विश्व शिक्षक दिवस वार्षिक रूप से 5 अक्टूबर को मनाया जाता है

• विश्व शिक्षक दिवस 1994 के बाद से हर साल दुनिया भर में मनाया जाता है।
• "टीचिंग इन फ़्रीडम, एम्पावरिंग टीचर्स" इस साल विश्व शिक्षक दिवस का विषय है।

6. रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने किया प्रथम-श्योक सेतु का उद्घाटन

रक्षामंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने लेह में रणनीतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण प्रथम-श्योक सेतु का उद्घाटन किया। यह सेतु लेह से काराकोरम को जोड़ेगा। इस सेतु के दारबुक-श्योक और दौलत बेग एक दूसरे से जुड़ जाएंगे।

• इस सेतु के कारण क्षेत्रीय लोगों व सेन को भी आवाजाही में काफी सहुलियत मिलेगी।
• यह सामरिक परिवहन के लिए यात्रा और संचार बढायेगा, मंत्री ने कहा।

7. वुमेन इंडिया ऑर्गेनिक फेस्टिवल का तीसरा संस्करण

भारत भर से जैविक क्षेत्र में महिला उद्यमियों और किसानों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए, महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय नई दिल्ली में 1 से 15 अक्टूबर  2017 तक तीसरे वार्षिक वुमेन इंडिया ऑर्गेनिक फेस्टिवल की मेजबानी कर रहा है।

• महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री केन्द्रीय मेनका संजय गांधी ने महिला एवं बाल विकास मंत्रालय के राज्य मंत्री श्री वीरेन्द्र कुमार की उपस्थिति में 1 अक्टूबर को दिल्ली हाट (आईएनए) में इसका उद्घाटन किया।
• 'गुड फॉर वुमेन; गुड फॉर इंडिया; गुड फॉर यू’ विषय के साथ मंत्रालय जैविक वस्तुओं के स्वास्थ्य और पर्यावरणीय लाभों को उजागर करना चाहता है व इसमें शामिल महिलाओं के लिए एक मंच प्रदान करता है और भारत के दूरस्थ कोनों से महिलाओं के लिए टिकाऊ और आसानी से सुलभ बिक्री आउटलेट के विकास को बढ़ावा देता है।

8. भारत ने म्यांमार, बांग्लादेश सीमा पर दो चेक पोस्ट खोले

भारत ने म्यांमार और बांग्लादेश के साथ सीमाओं पर दो आव्रजन चेक पोस्ट खोले हैं, जो दोनों पड़ोसियों के साथ बढ़ती निकटता का प्रतीक है।

• गृह मंत्रालय ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार ने मिजोरम के लॉंगतलाई जिले में ज़ोरिनपई चेक पोस्ट को वैध यात्रा दस्तावेज के साथ म्यामांर से भारत आने या भारत से जाने वाले यात्रियों के लिए अधिकृत आव्रजन चेक पोस्ट के रूप में मंजूरी दी हैं।
• एक अलग अधिसूचना में, मंत्रालय ने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार ने मिजोरम के लुंगलेई जिले में कावरपुईछुआह चेक पोस्ट को वैध यात्रा दस्तावेज के साथ बांग्लादेश से भारत आने या भारत से जाने वाले यात्रियों के लिए अधिकृत आव्रजन चेक पोस्ट के रूप में मंजूरी दी हैं।
• भारत म्यांमार के साथ 1,643 किमी लंबी सीमा साझा करता है जो अरुणाचल प्रदेश, नागालैंड, मणिपुर और मिजोरम को छूती है।
• बांग्लादेश के साथ भारत 4,096 किमी लंबी सीमा साझा करता है जो असम, त्रिपुरा, मिजोरम, मेघालय और पश्चिम बंगाल को छूती है।

9. राष्ट्रपति कोविंद ने शिरडी हवाई अड्डे का उद्घाटन किया

राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने अहमदनगर में नए शिरडी हवाई अड्डा और मुंबई की नई एल्लायंस एयर वाणिज्यिक उड़ान का उद्घाटन किया।

• महाराष्ट्र एयरपोर्ट डेवलपमेंट कॉरपोरेशन (एमएडीसी) द्वारा विकसित हवाईअड्डे का उद्घाटन के साथ ही साईबाबा समाधि के साल भर के शताब्दी समारोह की शुरुआत हुई है, जिसके लिए 11 लाख से अधिक तीर्थयात्रियों के दुनिया भर से आन की उम्मीद है।
• पश्चिमी महाराष्ट्र का छोटा सा शहर 20 वीं शताब्दी के संत, जिन्हें साईबाबा के नाम से जाना जाता है, के 'समाधि' मंदिर के लिए एक विश्व प्रसिद्ध तीर्थ स्थान है, जो सभी समुदायों द्वारा सम्मानित है।

10. मध्य प्रदेश ने 'सिंगल क्लिक पेंशन डिलिवरी' की योजना शुरू की

मध्यप्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने 'सिंगल क्लिक पेंशन डिलिवरी' योजना को शुरू किया है जिसमें पैसा सीधे लाभार्थियों के खाते में जाएगा।

• इस कदम से राज्य के 35 लाख से अधिक लोग लाभान्वित होंगे।
• चौहान ने 100 वर्ष की आयु पूरी करने वाले बुजुर्गों को "शतायु" पुरस्कार से भी सम्मानित किया।

11. एमसीआई सभी डॉक्टरों को विशिष्ट स्थायी पंजीकरण संख्या प्रदान करेगा

भारतीय चिकित्सा परिषद ने देश के सबसे बड़े डॉक्टरों के निकाय को लिखा है कि भारत के डॉक्टरों को अपनी ई-गवर्नेंस पहल के तहत आधार के समान एक अद्वितीय पंजीकरण संख्या के माध्यम से डिजिटाइज करने में मदद करे।

• इस कदम से उम्मीद की जा रही है कि विभिन्न राज्यों में डॉक्टरों को अलग-अलग जगहों पर के बिना अलग-अलग लाइसेंसों के काम करने में मदद मिलेगी।

12. सरकार 2 अक्टूबर को स्वच्छ भारत दिवस के रूप में मनायेगी

स्वच्छ भारत मिशन की तीसरी वर्षगांठ को 2 अक्टूबर को "स्वच्छ भारत दिवस" के रूप में मनाया जाएगा।

• 2 अक्तूबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अहिंसा दिवस के रूप में भी मनाया जाता है। 15 जून, 2007 को संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने इस के लिए वोट दिया था।

13. ट्रांसजेंडर शौचालय बनाने वाली भोपाल पहली राजधानी

केंद्र सरकार द्वारा सभी राज्यों से ट्रांसजेंडर लोगों को अपनी पसंद के किसी भी सार्वजनिक शौचालय का इस्तेमाल करने की अनुमति देने के आग्रह के पांच माह बाद, भोपाल ट्रांसजेंडर समुदाय के लिए एक विशेष शौचालय बनाने वाला किसी राज्य की पहली राजधानी बनने जा रहा है।

• इसका उद्घाटन मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान करेंगे।
• इस साल अप्रैल में, पेयजल और स्वच्छता मंत्रालय ने राज्य सरकारों को निर्देश दिये कि ट्रांजेन्डर समुदाय के लोगों को समान नागरिकों के रूप में महसूस कराने के प्रयास किए जाएं।

14. थावरचंद्र गहलोत ने वरिष्ठ नागरिको के लिए वॉकथॉन को हरी झंडी दिखाई

2 अक्टूबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय वरिष्ठ नागरिक दिवस के अवसर पर इंडिया गेट पर 5 हजार से अधिक लोग वरिष्ठ नागरिको के प्रति देखभाल और सम्मान देने के पावन कारण के प्रसार हेतु एकत्र हुए।

• इस वर्ष का मुख्य विषय”भविष्य में प्रवेश: प्रतिभा को सम्मान और समाज में वृद्धजनो की भागीदारी और योगदान” है।
• इस अवसर पर केंद्रीय सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्री श्री थावरचंद्र गहलोत और राज्य मंत्री श्री किशन पाल गुर्जर ने 5000 भागीदारो और अन्य गणमान्य अतिथियो के साथ शपथ ग्रहण की।
• इसके बाद श्री थावरचंद्र गहलोत औऱ किशन पाल गुर्जन ने वॉकथॉन को हरी झंडी दिखाई और सभी गणमान्य अतिथियो के साथ 1 किमी वाकथ्रान में भाग लिया।

15. राजघाट में प्रथम बार महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमा की स्थापना

राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में राष्ट्रपति की समाधि, राजघाट को पहली बार एक नयी विशेषता हासिल की है जो भारी संख्या में आगंतुकों को आकर्षित करती है।

• भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति एम. वैंकेया नायडू ने स्वतंत्र भारत के शूरवीर की 148वीं जन्मशताब्दी पर महात्मा गांधी की 1.80 लम्बी कांस्य प्रतिमा का अनावरण किया।
• श्री राम सुतार द्वारा तराशी गई प्रतिमा को राजघाट समाधि परिसर के पार्किग क्षेत्र में 8.73 लाख रूपये की लागत से स्थापित किया गया है। यह 2 फीट ऊँचे मूर्तितल पर ग्रेनाइट धातु में लिपटा हुआ है।
• मूर्तितल के सामने की दिशा में गांधी जी का प्रसिद्ध संदेश “जो बदलाव आप देखना चाहते हैं, वही बनो” को उत्कीर्ण किया गया है। प्रतिमा को स्थापित करना, गत तीन वर्षों में राजघाट में किए गए बहुसंख्य सुधार कार्यों का हिस्सा है।

16. वैश्विक उद्यमशीलता सम्मेलन 2017 का आयोजन हैदराबाद में होगा

भारत सरकार और अमेरिका के उच्च स्तरीय प्रतिनिधि मंडल ने दिनांक 28 से 30 नवंबर को हैदराबाद अंतरराष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन केंद्र, हैदराबाद, भारत में आयोजित होने वाले वैश्विक उद्यमशीलता सम्मेलन 2017 की योजना बनाने के लिए नीति आयोग में मुलाकात की।

• इस सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी और  अमेरिकी प्रतिनिधि मंडल की प्रमुख तथा राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप की सलाहकार, इवांका ट्रंप द्वारा किया जाएगा ।
• जीईएस विश्वभर के उभरते उद्यमियों, निवेशकों और व्यवसायिक प्रमुखों का उत्कृष्ट वार्षिक सम्मेलन है।

17. चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने 'स्वच्छ आंध्र मिशन' की शुरूआत की

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की स्वच्छ भारत मिशन का अनुसरण करते हुए आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने गांधी जयंती के अवसर पर स्वच्छ आंध्र मिशन की शुरुआत की।

• पीवी सिंधु, जिन्हें स्वच्छ आंध्र मिशन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर के रूप में चुना गया है, इस अवसर पर नायडू के साथ समारोह में शामिल हुई।

18. आंध्र प्रदेश में 'नो हेलमेट, नो पेट्रोल' नियम लागू

आंध्र प्रदेश में सड़क दुर्घटना में होने वाली मौतों को कम करने के लिए दोपहिया वाहन चालकों के लिए 'नो हेलमेट, नो पेट्रोल' नियम लागू हुआ है।

• चंद्रबाबू ने इस नियम को लागू करने के लिए उपकरणों के लिए 10 करोड़ रुपये स्वीकृत किए हैं।
• उन्होंने अधिकारियों को शासन के प्रभावी कार्यान्वयन के लिए वाहन चालकों की एक साप्ताहिक जांच करने का भी आदेश दिया।
• नायडू ने कहा कि राज्यों में सड़क दुर्घटनाओं की संख्या को कम करने के लिए सड़क सुरक्षा नियमों को कड़ाई से लागू किया जाना चाहिए।

19. कर्नाटक सरकार ने मातृ पूर्णा योजना शुरू की

कर्नाटक सरकार ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में गर्भवती और स्तनपान कराने वाली महिलाओं की पोषण संबंधी जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए एक योजना मातृ पूर्णा की शुरूआत की है।

• कार्यक्रम के तहत, ग्रामीण इलाकों में गर्भवती और स्तनपान कराने वाली गरीब महिलाओं को एक महीने में 25 दिनों के लिए रोजाना पौष्टिक भोजन मिलेगा।

20. यमेथिन, म्‍यांमार स्थित महिला पुलिस प्रशिक्षण केंद्र का उन्‍नयन

प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी की अध्‍यक्षता में मंत्रिमंडल ने यमेथिन, म्‍यांमार स्थित महिला पुलिस प्रशिक्षण केन्‍द्र के उन्‍नयन संबंधी समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) को अपनी कार्येतर मंजूरी प्रदान कर दी है। इस एमओयू पर 6 सितम्‍बर, 2017 को हस्‍ताक्षर हुए थे।

• इस एमओयू में भारत सरकार से तकनीकी एवं वित्‍तीय सहायता के साथ म्‍यांमार सरकार की क्षमताओं में और वृद्धि के लिए यमेथिन महिला पुलिस प्रशिक्षण केंद्र का उन्‍नयन किया जाना शामिल है।

21. पूर्वोत्‍तर में जल संसाधन के उचित प्रबंध के लिए उच्‍च स्‍तरीय समिति का गठन

सरकार ने नीति आयोग के उपाध्‍यक्ष राजीव कुमार की अध्‍यक्षता में पूर्वोत्‍तर क्षेत्र में जलसंसाधनों के उचित प्रबंध के लिए एक उच्‍च स्‍तरीय समिति का गठन किया है।

• अगस्त महीने में पूर्वोत्‍तर राज्‍यों में बाढ़ क स्थिति और राहत कार्यों का जायजा लेने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री की गुवाहाटी यात्रा के बाद यह कदम उठाया गया है।
• समिति पनबिजली, कृषि, जैवविविधता संरक्षण, अपक्षरण, अंतरदेशीय जल परिवहन, वानिकी मछलीपालन और पारिस्थितिकी पर्यटन के रूप में उचित जल प्रबंधन के लाभों को बढ़ाने में सहायता देगी। पूर्वोत्‍तर क्षेत्र विकास मंत्रालय समन्‍वय कार्य करेगा।
• यह समिति कार्य योजना सहित अपनी रिपोर्ट जून 2018 तक देगी।
• असम, मणिपुर, नगालैंड तथा अरुणाचल प्रदेश के मुख्‍यमंत्रियों के साथ बाढ़ की स्थिति की समीक्षा के बाद प्रधानमंत्री ने पूर्वोत्‍तर क्षेत्र में जल संसाधनों के समग्र प्रबंधनों के लिए उच्‍च स्‍तरीय समिति बनाने की घोषणा की थी।

22. इलाहाबाद में कछुआ शरणस्‍थली स्‍थापित की जाएगी

गंगा नदी में समृद्ध जलीय जैव विविधता पर मानवजनित दबाव से रक्षा के लिए नमामि गंगे कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत इलाहाबाद में कछुआ शरणस्‍थली विकसित करने और संगम पर नदी जैवविविधता पार्क विकसित करने को मंजूरी दी गई है।

• 1.34 करोड़ रुपये की अनुमानित लागत की इस परियोजना में गंगा-यमुना और सरस्‍वती के संगम पर नदी जैव विविधता पार्क विकसित किया जाएगा और कछुआ पालन केंद्र (त्रिवेणी पुष्‍प पर स्‍थायी नर्सरी तथा अस्‍थायी वार्षिक पालन) स्‍थापित किया जाएगा। गंगा नदी के महत्‍व और इसके संरक्षण की आवश्‍यकता के प्रति जागरुकता लाने की भी स्‍वीकृति दी गई है।
• यह परियोजना एक आवश्‍यक मंच प्रदान करेगी ताकि आगंतुक अपनी पारिस्थितिकीय प्रणाली, अपनी भूमिका और जिम्‍मेदारियों को जान सकें और पर्यावरण के साथ सह-अस्तित्‍व की जटिलता को समझ सकें। इस परियोजना से लोग महत्‍वपूर्ण प्राकृतिक संसाधनों पर पड़ने वाले  मानवीय गतिविधियों के प्रभावों के प्रति जागरुक हो सकेंगे।

23. डिब्रूगढ़ में दिव्यांगों के लिये देश की पहली आईटीआई

असम के मुख्यमंत्री श्री सरबानंद सोनोवाल ने डिब्रूगढ़ में दिव्यांग जनों के लिए विशेष रूप से बनने वाली औद्योगिक प्रशिक्षण संस्थान (आईटीआई) की आधारशिला रखी।

• राज्य के दिव्यांग युवाओं के सशक्तिकरण के लिए एक नया मार्ग स्थापित करने के लिए यह देश में अपनी तरह का पहला संस्थान है।

24. ईंधन की कीमतों पर वैट कम करने वाला गुजरात पहला राज्य  

राज्य विधानसभा चुनावों से पहले, गुजरात सरकार ने पेट्रोल और डीजल पर वैल्यू-एडेड टैक्स (वैट) में कटौती की है, जिससे यह वह ऐसा करने पहला राज्य बन गया है।

• हाल ही में, केंद्र सरकार ने पेट्रोल और डीजल पर मूल उत्पाद शुल्क में 2 रुपये प्रति लीटर की कटौती की थी।
• गुजरात में वर्तमान में पेट्रोल और डीजल पर 28.96 प्रतिशत वैट लगाया जाता है।

25. पूरे देश में पर्यटन मंत्रालय के पर्यटन पर्व का आयोजन

पर्यटन मंत्रालय द्वारा आयोजित पर्यटन पर्व, केंद्रीय मंत्रालयों, राज्य सरकारों और भागीदारों के सहयोग से 5 से 25 अक्टूबर, 2017 से मनाया जा रहा है।

• इसके आयोजन का मुख्य उद्देश्य पर्यटन के लाभ, देश की सांस्कृतिक विविधता का प्रदर्शन और “सभी के लिए पर्यटन” के सिद्धांत को सुदृढ़ बनाना है।
• इस पर्व का उद्घाटन संस्कृति राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) डॉ. महेश शर्मा ने नई दिल्ली के हुमाऊ किला में किया।

26. केंद्र ने छह वर्षीय सिक्योर हिमालय परियोजना लॉन्च की

भारत में चार राज्यों में फैले उच्च हिमालयी पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र में स्थानीय और विश्व स्तर पर महत्वपूर्ण जैव विविधता, भूमि और वन संसाधनों का संरक्षण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए केंद्र ने एक छह साल का प्रोजेक्ट लॉन्च किया।

• हिम तेंदुए और अन्य लुप्तप्राय प्रजातियों का संरक्षण और उनके निवास परियोजना का प्रमुख घटक है जो इस क्षेत्र में लोगों की आजीविका सुनिश्चित करने और वन्यजीव अपराध को कम करने के लिए प्रवर्तन बढ़ाने पर भी ध्यान देगा।
• ग्लोबल वाइल्ड लाइफ प्रोग्राम (जीडब्ल्यूपी) सम्मेलन के उद्घाटन दिवस पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) के साथ मिलकर केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री हर्षवर्धन ने सिक्योर हिमालय नामक इस परियोजना को शुरु किया।

27. मुकेश अंबानी लगातार 10वें वर्ष के लिए भारत के सबसे धनी आदमी

रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज के प्रमुख मुकेश अंबानी लगातार 10वें वर्ष के लिए भारत के सबसे धनी आदमी बने हैं। उनकी नेटवर्थ 38 बिलियन डॉलर (लगभग 2.5 लाख करोड़ रुपये) तक पहुंच गई, जबकि आर्थिक अड़चनों के बावजूद 100 सबसे अमीर लोगों की संपत्ति 26 फीसदी बढ़ी।

• विप्रो के अजीम प्रेमजी 19 बिलियन डॉलर की नेट वर्थ के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर हैं, जो पिछले साल से दो स्थान उपर पहुंच गये हैं, जबकि सन फार्मा के दिलीप सांघवी फोर्ब्स मैगजीन की वार्षिक इंडिया रिच लिस्ट 2017 में दूसरे स्थान से गिरकर अब नौवें स्थान पर (12.1 बिलियन डॉलर) हैं।

28. यूपी सरकार ने जन विवाह योजना शुरू की

उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार ने एक सामूहिक विवाह योजना मुख्यमंत्री सामूहिक विवाह योजना को मंजूरी दी, जिसमें प्रत्येक युगल पर 35,000 रुपये खर्च किए जाएंगे, इसके अलावा उन्हें मोबाइल फोन और घरेलू सामान भी दिये जायेंगे

• इस योजना के तहत, सामूहिक विवाह सामाजिक कल्याण विभाग द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा।
• इस संबंध में कार्यक्रमों को नगर पंचायत, नगर पंचायत और नगर निगम, क्षेत्र पंचायत, जिला पंचायत, सरकारी / अर्ध-सरकारी संगठनों और गैर-सरकारी संगठनों जैसे शहरी स्थानीय निकायों द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा, जिन्हें संबंधित जिलों के जिला मजिस्ट्रेट द्वारा अधिकृत किया जाएगा।

29. राष्‍ट्रपति भारत जल सप्‍ताह 2017 का उद्घाटन करेंगे

राष्‍ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविंद 10 अक्‍टूबर, 2017 को नई दिल्‍ली में केंद्रीय जल संसाधन, नदी विकास एवं गंगा संरक्षण मंत्री श्री नितिन गडकरी और केन्‍द्रीय जल संसाधन, नदी विकास एवं गंगा संरक्षण राज्‍य मंत्रियों श्री अर्जुन राम मेघवाल और डॉ. सत्‍यपाल सिंह की मौजूदगी में भारत जल सप्‍ताह-2017 का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

• भारत और 13 अन्‍य देशों के लगभग 1500 प्रति‍निधि इस पांच दिवसीय अंतर्राष्‍ट्रीय आयोजन में भाग लेंगे। भारत जल सप्‍ताह-2017 की थीम है ‘समावेशी विकास के लिए जल एवं ऊर्जा’।
• भारत जल सप्‍ताह (आईडब्‍ल्‍यूडब्‍ल्‍यू) का पांचवां संस्‍करण एक बहु-विषयक सम्‍मेलन और साथ-साथ आयोजित की जाने वाली प्रदर्शनी के साथ मनाया जाएगा। इस दौरान थीम को रेखांकित करने के साथ-साथ बैठक के विचारार्थ क्षेत्रों के लिए उपलब्‍ध तकनीकों एवं सोल्‍यूशंस को दर्शाया जाएगा।

30. डॉ. महेश शर्मा ‘राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव-2017’ का उद्घाटन करेंगे

‘राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव-2017’ का आयोजन भारत के प्रथम विश्‍व धरोहर नगर अर्थात अहमदाबाद, गुजरात में 7 से 9 अक्‍टूबर, 2017 मे आयोजित किया जाएगा।

• संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय की अपर सचिव सुश्री सुजाता प्रसाद ने अहमदाबाद, गुजरात में संवाददाताओं को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव की संकल्‍पना संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय द्वारा 2015 में की गई थी और नवंबर 2015 में प्रथम राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव की महान सफलता के बाद संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय ने देश के सांस्‍कृतिक रूप से समृद्ध धरोहर को प्रदर्शित करने के उद्देश्‍य से इसके आयोजन का फैसला किया जहां एक ही स्‍थान पर इसके सभी समृद्ध और विविध आयामों जैसे हस्‍तशिल्‍प, पाक प्रणाली, चित्रकारी, मूर्तिकला, फोटोग्राफी, दस्‍तावेजीकरण एवं प्रदर्शनकलाओं- लोकगीत, जनजातीय, पारंपरिक एवं समसामयिक का प्रदर्शन किया जा सके।
• अभी तक इस मंत्रालय ने 5 राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सवों का आयोजन किया है, जिसमें दिल्‍ली में दो बार तथा वाराणसी, बंगलूरु एवं पूर्वोत्‍तर में एक-एक बार सभी पूर्वोत्‍तर राज्‍यों की राजधानियों में राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव का आयोजन शामिल है।
• अपर सचिव ने बताया कि केंद्रीय संस्‍कृति राज्‍य मंत्री (स्‍वतंत्र प्रभार) तथा पर्यावरण, वन एवं जलवायु परिवर्तन राज्‍य मंत्री डॉ. महेश शर्मा 7 अक्‍टूबर, 2017 को 7 बजे अहमदाबाद में साबरमती नदी के तट पर स्थित इवेंट सेंटर, ए ब्‍लॉक में राष्‍ट्रीय संस्‍कृति महोत्‍सव के 6ठे संस्‍करण का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

31. आसियान भारत संगीत समारोह का पहला संस्करण नई दिल्ली में आयोजित

विदेश मंत्रालय व संस्कृति मंत्रालय के सहयोग से भारत सरकार पहली बार आसियान-भारत संगीत समारोह नई दिल्ली के पुराना किला में 6 अक्टूबर से 8 अक्टूबर 2017 तक आयोजित कर रही है।

• आसियान-भारत वार्ता संबंधों की 25 वीं वर्षगांठ मनाने के लिए इस महोत्सव का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
• इस स्मारक वर्ष के लिए विषय "साझा मूल्य, आम भाग्य" के साथ इस संगीत समारोह से आसियान सदस्य राज्यों और भारत के लोगों के बीच सांस्कृतिक प्रभाव को बढ़ावा देना है।

32. चंडीगढ़ में तीन दिवसीय वैश्विक चिकित्सा सम्मेलन शुरू

चंडीगढ़ में सीएसआईआर-इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ माइक्रोबियल टेक्नोलॉजी (आईएमटीईसीएच) में शुरू हुए तीन दिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन का उद्देश्य वर्तमान चिकित्सा आवश्यकताओं पर चर्चा में उद्योग और शैक्षणिक नेताओं को शामिल करना था।

• सीएसआईआर-आईएमटेक केंद्रीय विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय के तत्वावधान में एक प्रमुख सूक्ष्मजीव संस्थान है।
• 'IMTechCon 2017' सम्मेलन का उद्देश्य वैश्विक स्तर पर वर्तमान अपूर्ण चिकित्सा आवश्यकताओं पर चर्चा करने के लिए उद्योग और शैक्षिक नेताओं को शामिल करना है

33. इसरो गुवाहाटी में अनुसंधान केंद्र स्थापित करेगा

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) स्टार्टअप, शिक्षाविदों, पर्यावरणविदों और उद्यमियों के लिए गुवाहाटी में एक शोध केंद्र स्थापित करेगा।

• भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस) और असम के विकास में तेजी लाने के लिए सैटेलाइट रिमोट सेंसिंग की जानकारी देते हुए अधिकारियों ने बताया कि इसरो ने भू-स्थानिक प्रौद्योगिकी का उपयोग करने की संभावना का पता लगाने के लिए असम में एक अनूठी अनुसंधान सुविधा स्थापित करेगा।
• रिमोट सेन्सिंग टेक्नोलॉजी का इस्तेमाल सटीक बाढ़ चेतावनी प्रणाली, मिट्टी का क्षरण और भू-स्खलन की रोकथाम के लिए किया जाएगा।
• राज्य सरकार अनुसंधान केंद्र के लिए मुफ्त में इसरो को जमीन उपलब्ध कराएगी।

34. आरकॉम ने एयरसेल के साथ विलय सौदा बंद किया

रिलायंस कम्युनिकेशंस (आरकॉम) ने कानूनी और नियामक अनिश्चितताओं का हवाला देते हुए प्रतिद्वंद्वी एयरसेल के साथ अपने वायरलेस व्यवसाय को मर्ज करने की योजना बंद कर दी है।

• यदि विलय हो गया होता, तो यह 175 मिलियन उपभोक्ताओं के साथ भारत का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा दूरसंचार प्रदाता बन गया होता।
• एयरसेल के साथ प्रस्तावित सौदे पर पिछले सितंबर में हस्ताक्षर किए।

35. फिच ने भारत की विकास दर को 6.9% तक घटाया

फिच रेटिंग ने अप्रैल-जून तिमाही में सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की वृद्धि में "अप्रत्याशित रूप से कमजोरी" के बाद चालू वित्त वर्ष के लिए भारत की आर्थिक वृद्धि पूर्वानुमान को 7.4% से 6.9% कर दिया है।

• एशियन डेवलपमेंट बैंक (एडीबी) ने पिछले महीने चालू वित्त वर्ष के दौरान भारत की सकल घरेलू उत्पाद की विकास दर को निजी उपभोग, विनिर्माण उत्पादन और कारोबारी निवेश में कमजोरी के कारण घटाकर 7 फीसदी कर दिया था, जो कि 7.4 फीसदी था।
• भारत ने 2016-17 में 7.1 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि दर्ज की थी।

36. जीआईएफटी-आईएफएससी वैश्विक वित्तीय केंद्रों के सूचकांक में 10वें स्थान पर

भारत के पहले आईएफएससी को ग्लोबल फाइनेंशियल सेंटर इंडेक्स 22 (जीएफसीआई) - लंदन के नवीनतम सितंबर 2017 संस्करण में दसवें स्थान पर रखा गया है।

• गांधीनगर स्थित आईएफएससी को लक्समबर्ग, सिओल, अबू धाबी, टोरंटो और बीजिंग में अन्य अग्रणी वित्तीय केन्द्रों से आगे स्थान दिया है।
• जीआईएफटी को न्यूयॉर्क और हांगकांग के अन्य शीर्ष वित्तीय केंद्रों के समान लीग में रखा गया है।

37. अमेरिका ने भारत में कच्चे तेल के पहले जहाज भेजे 

भारत द्वारा अनुबंधित दो लाख बैरल के हिस्से के रूप में, भारत में अमेरिकी कच्चे तेल का पहला शिपमेंट ओडिशा में पारादीप पोर्ट पर आया।

• यह शिपमेंट इंडियन ऑयल कॉरपोरेशन (आईओसी) और भारत पेट्रोलियम (बीपीसीएल) द्वारा अमेरिकी तेल खरीद के लिए हालिया प्रतिबद्धताओं के चलते किया किया गया है, दोनों ने अमेरिका से 2 मिलियन बैरल के लिए ऑर्डर दिया है।
• भारत में अमेरिका के कच्चे तेल के निर्यात में द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को 2 अरब डॉलर तक बढ़ाने की क्षमता है।

38. एआईआईबी, एडीबी ने भारत के बिजली क्षेत्र के लिए $100 मिलियन का ऋण अनुमोदित किया

चीन की अगुआई वाली एआईआईबी और बहुपक्षीय वित्तपोषण एजेंसी एडीबी ने भारत के बिजली ट्रांसमिशन नेटवर्क को सुधारने और सौर और पवन ऊर्जा के उपयोग के विस्तार के लिए 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का ऋण सह वित्तपोषित करने की घोषणा की है।

• बीजिंग स्थित एशियाई इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर इन्वेस्टमेंट बैंक (एआईआईबी) के निदेशक मंडल द्वारा अनुमोदित ऋण में मनीला स्थित एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) से 50 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का सह-वित्तपोषण शामिल है।
• एशिया में दो प्रमुख बहुपक्षीय विकास बैंक एआईआईबी और एडीबी द्वारा यह चौथा सह-वित्तपोषण है।
• एआईआईबी में भारत दूसरा सबसे बड़ा शेयरधारक है। बैंक की 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर का अधिकृत पूंजी है।

39. आरबीआई ने रेपो दर, रिवर्स रेपो रेट अपरिवर्तित रखी

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने रिपो रेट और रिवर्स रेपो रेट को क्रमशः 6% और 5.75% पर अपरिवर्तित रखा है।

• रेपो रेट: 6% पर अपरिवर्तित
• रिवर्स रेपो रेट: 5.75% पर अपरिवर्तित
• सीमांत स्थायी सुविधा (एमएसएफ) दर: 6.25% पर अपरिवर्तित
• बैंक दर: 6.25% पर अपरिवर्तित
• नकद आरक्षित अनुपात: 4% पर अपरिवर्तित
• वैधानिक तरलता अनुपात (एसएलआर): 50 आधार अंक बदलकर 19.5%

40. भारत के साथ बांग्लादेश ने 4.5 बिलियन डॉलर का ऋण सौदा किया

बांग्लादेश ने अपने बुनियादी ढांचे और सामाजिक क्षेत्र के विकास के लिए भारत के साथ 4.5 बिलियन डॉलर के तीसरी लाइन क्रेडिट (एलओसी) समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

• इस समझौते पर वित्त मंत्री अरुण जेटली और उनके बांग्लादेशी समकक्ष ए एम ए मुहित की मौजूदगी में हस्ताक्षर किए गए।
• बांग्लादेश में 17 प्रमुख परियोजनाओं को वितपोषित करने के लिए 4.5 बिलियन डालर की नई भारतीय क्रेडिट लाइन उपयोग किया जाएगा, जिसमें बिजली, रेलमार्ग, सड़क, शिपिंग और बंदरगाह शामिल हैं।

41. भारत ने यूरोपीयन इवेस्‍टमेंट बैंक से 300 मिलियन यूरो का वित्‍तीय समझौता किया

भारत सरकार और यूरोपीयन इंवेस्‍टमेंट बैंक (ईआईबी) ने बंगलोर मेट्रो रेल परियोजना चरण-II लाइन आर 6 के लिए 300 मिलियन यूरो के ऋण समझौते पर हस्‍ताक्षर किया।

• बंगलोर मेट्रो परियोजना चरण-II का वित्‍त पोषण संयुक्‍त रूप से यूरोपीयन इंवेस्‍टमेंट बैंक (500 मिलियन यूरो) तथा एशियन इंफ्रास्‍ट्रक्‍चर इवेस्‍टमेंट बैंक (300 मिलियन यूरो) द्वारा किया जाएगा।
• 300 मिलियन यूरो की पहली खेप के लिए 5 अक्टुबर को हस्‍ताक्षर किए गए।
• इस परियोजना में बंगलोर में मेट्रो रेल के लिए पूर्व-पश्चिम तथा उत्‍तर-दक्षिण लाइनों का विस्‍तार किया जाएगा। इसकी लम्‍बाई 72.095 किलो मीटर (13.79 किलोमीटर भूमिगत) है। कुल 61 स्‍टेशनों में 12 स्‍टेशन भूमिगत हैं।

42. आरबीआई ने सार्वजनिक ऋण रजिस्ट्री पर उच्च स्तरीय कार्य बल का निर्माण किया  

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने भारत की पब्लिक क्रेडिट रजिस्ट्री (पीसीआर) पर एक उच्च स्तरीय कार्यबल का गठन किया है।

• यसवंत एम देवस्थली की अध्यक्षता में टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया गया है।
• यह क्रेडिट की वर्तमान उपलब्धता की समीक्षा करेगा, वर्तमान सूचना प्रणाली की पर्याप्तता और एक पीसीए द्वारा भरे जा सकने वाले गैप की पहचान करेगा।

43. एचडीएफसी लाइफ ने सेवा बॉट नियो लॉन्च किया

एचडीएफसी लाइफ इंश्योरेंस कंपनी ने ट्विटर सर्विस के लिए सर्विसिंग बॉट नियो लॉंच किया है जो ग्राहक सेवा के लिए कृत्रिम बुद्धि का इस्तेमाल करता है।

• सोशल मीडिया पर पॉलिसी संबंधी प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने के लिये बॉट को तैनात किया गया है।
• यह एसपीओके के प्रक्षेपण के बाद, एचडीएफसी लाइफ द्वारा ऑपरेशन में लगाया गया दूसरा बॉट है, जो ग्राहक के  प्रश्नों के उत्तर देने के लिए एक ईमेल बॉट था।

44. एक्सिस बैंक ने फ्रीचार्ज का अधिग्रहण किया

देश की तीसरी सबसे बड़ी निजी क्षेत्र की बैंक एक्सिस बैंक ने कहा कि उसने नकदी सौदे में 373 करोड़ रुपये के भुगतान के साथ फ्रीचार्ज वॉलेट का अधिग्रहण किया है।

• संग्राम सिंह को फ्रीचार्ज पेमेंट टेक्नोलॉजीज प्राइवेट लिमिटेड का मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है।
• वर्तमान में फ्रीचार्ज के पास लगभग 80 करोड़ रुपये का राजस्व है।

45. विजया बैंक ने डिजिटल भुगतान के लिए एचपीसीएल के साथ समझौता किया

विजया बैंक ने हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (एचपीसीएल) के साथ बीएचआईएम/यूपीआई व्यापारी समाधानों के साथ सभी एचपीसीएल रिटेल आउटलेटों को सक्षम करने के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किया है।

• यह रोलआउट डिजिटल भुगतान स्वीकार करने में सभी पेट्रोल पंप अटेंडेंट और एलपीजी डिलीवरी कर्मियों को सक्षम करेगा।
• ग्राहक बीएचआईएम विजया या किसी भी बीएचआईएम ऐप का उपयोग करके क्यूआर कोड स्कैन करके भुगतान कर सकते हैं जो यूपीआई के माध्यम से भुगतान को सपोर्ट करता है।

46. राष्ट्रपति ने राज्यपालों की नियुक्ति की

राष्ट्रपति ने निम्नलिखित नियुक्तियों को स्वीकृति दी गई है।

• बिग्रेडियर (डॉ) बी.डी मिश्रा (सेवानिवृत) अरूणाचल प्रदेश के राज्यपाल।
• श्री सत्यपाल मलिक बिहार के राज्यपाल।
• श्री बनवारी लाल पुरोहित तमिलनाडु के राज्यपाल।
• प्रोफेसर श्री जगदीश मुखी असम के राज्यपाल।
• श्री गंगा प्रसाद मेघालय के राज्यपाल।
• एडमिरल देवेंद्र कुमार जोशी को अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह के लेफ्टिनेंट गवर्नर के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

47. ओबीसी के उप वर्गीकरण की जांच करने के लिए राष्ट्रपति ने आयोग को नियुक्त किया

राष्ट्रपति ने 02.10.2017 को, संविधान के अनुच्छेद 340 द्वारा प्रदत्त शक्तियों के प्रयोग में अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग के उप-वर्गीकरण की जांच करने के लिए आयोग नियुक्त किया।

आयोग की रचना निम्नानुसार है:

• अध्यक्ष-जस्टिस (सेवानिवृत्त) जी रोहिणी
• सदस्य- डा जे.के. बजाज।
• सदस्य (पदेन) - निदेशक, भारत का मानव विज्ञान सर्वेक्षण
• सदस्य (पदेन पद) - पंजीयक सामान्य और जनगणना आयुक्त, भारत
• आयोग-संयुक्त सचिव, एसजे एंड ई विभाग, सामाजिक न्याय और अधिकारिता मंत्रालय।

48. यतींद्र पाल सिंह सूरी पीपीएमएआई अध्यक्ष के रूप में निर्वाचित

प्रोसेस प्लांट एंड मशीनरी एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (पीपीएमएआई) ने नए अध्यक्ष के रूप में यतिंद्र पाल सिंह सूरी को चुना है।

• सूरी फिलहाल फिनलैंड स्थित स्टेनलेस स्टील के प्रमुख आउटोकम्पू के प्रबंध निदेशक और भारत प्रमुख के रूप में काम कर रहे है।
• पीपीएमएआई एक सेवा संगठन है जिसमें तेल और गैस प्रसंस्करण, रिफाइनरी, उर्वरक, रसायन, पेट्रोकेमिकल्स, सिंथेटिक फाइबर और पर्यावरण नियंत्रण जैसे उद्योगों में सेवारत कंपनियां सदस्य हैं।

49. रजनीश कुमार नए एसबीआई अध्यक्ष

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) के सबसे वरिष्ठ प्रबंध निदेशक, 59 वर्षीय रजनीश कुमार देश के सबसे बड़े ऋणदाता के 25 वें अध्यक्ष होंगे। वह अरुंधति भट्टाचार्य की जगह लेंगे , जो कि 6 अक्टूबर को रिटायर होने जा रही है।

• सरकार ने तीन साल के लिये उनकी नियुक्ति की घोषणा की। कुमार वर्तमान में एसबीआई में रिटेल बैंकिंग के प्रभारी हैं।
• कुमार की नियुक्ति एक ऐसे समय में हुई है, जब एसबीआई की लाभप्रदता खराब है और खराब ऋण वृद्धि के कारण तनाव में है।
• कुमार की पूर्ववर्ती भट्टाचार्य 200 वर्षीय सरकारी बैंक की पहली महिला अध्यक्ष थी।

50. मंगोलिया में नए प्रधानमंत्री की नियुक्ति

मंगोलियाई विधानमंडल ने उत्तर कोरिया के साथ-साथ पड़ोसी रूस और चीन के साथ राजनयिक संबंधों के लिए संभावित निहितार्थों पर ध्यान केंद्रित करने हेतु एक नया प्रधान मंत्री नियुक्त किया है।

• सत्तारूढ़ मंगोलियाई पीपल्स पार्टी के उप प्रधान मंत्री खरेल्सुख उखना ने संसद की पुष्टि के बाद चुनाव लड़ा था।
• वह एर्डेनबाट जारगलटुल्गा की जगह लेंगे जिनके खिलाफ पिछले महीने विधायिका ने एक अविश्वास मत पारित किया था।

51. पूजा कपूर मैसिडोनिया गणराज्य के लिए भारत की अगली राजदूत

सुश्री पुजा कपूर, (आईएफएस: 1996) को सोफिया, बुल्गारिया गणराज्य में निवास के साथ मैसेडोनिया गणराज्य में भारत की अगली राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया किया गया है।

• उनके शीघ्र ही पद ग्रहण करने की उम्मीद है। वह वर्तमान में बुल्गारिया गणराज्य में भारत की राजदूत हैं।

52. एफबी ग्रुप को स्वयंसेवी नागरिक कार्य योजना के लिए के लिए स्वच्छता पुरस्कार

फर्टिलाइजर समिति क्रिभको को कल स्वच्छ भारत मिशन शहरी की तीसरी वर्षगांठ पर आवास एवं शहरी मामलों का मंत्रालय स्वच्छता पुरस्कार से सम्मानित करेगा। क्रिभको ने शहरी क्षेत्रों में अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन के जरिए कम्पोस्ट की मार्किटिंग में अग्रणी स्थान हासिल किया है।

• मंत्रालय ने शहरी क्षेत्रों में स्वच्छ भारत के कार्य में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान के लिए व्यक्तिगत श्रेणी में 20 लोगों और 7 एजेंसियों का चयन किया है। इन्हें सम्मानित किया जाएगा।
• क्रिभको को कंपनी श्रेणी में भी चुना गया है। क्रिभको ने वर्ष 2016-17 में 22,768 टन उच्च गुणवत्ता की बिक्री की है।
• दिल्ली आधारित नागरिक ग्रुप ‘मेरी दिल्ली इसे साफ रखें’ को फेसबुक के जरिए सार्वजनिक स्थलों की स्वच्छता के प्रयास के लिए स्वयंसेवी प्रयत्न को बढ़ावा देने के वास्ते पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है। यह पुरस्कार स्वयं सहायता ग्रुप श्रेणी के अंतर्गत दिया जाएगा।
• डीएलएफ फेस-4 गुरूग्राम के रिचमोंड पार्क को आरडब्ल्यूए श्रेणी में उत्पत्ति के स्थान से ही अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन के पृथक्कीकरण के लिए किए गए योगदान के लिए पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा।

• कोयंबटूर को ‘नो फूड वेस्ट’ (खाने की बर्बादी नहीं) पहल के लिए चुना गया है। कोयंबटूर को खाने की बर्बादी रोकने के लिए अभिनव श्रेणी में पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा।
• कस्तूरबा गांधी आवासीय विद्यालय, अंबीकर को स्कूल एवं कॉलेज श्रेणी में पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा। स्वच्छ अंबीकापुर सहकारी समिति को महिला सशक्तीकरण और रोजगार उपलब्ध कराने की श्रेणी में स्वयंसेवी ग्रुप के तहत चुना गया है। इस समिति ने यह कूड़े को धन के रूप में परिवर्तित करने के क्षेत्र में अपनी भूमिका निभाई है।
• सिक्किम के ग्यालशिंग के पिमायंगस्ते बौद्धमठ को शून्य अपशिष्ट प्रबंधन संस्थान के दर्जे के लिए धार्मिक संस्थान की श्रेणी के तहत चुना गया है।

53. मीनाक्षी मंदिर ने स्वच्छ पुरस्कार जीता

मदुरै में श्री मीनाक्षी सुंदरेश्वर मंदिर को स्वच्छता ही सेवा (स्वच्छता सेवा) कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत देश में सबसे साफ-सुथरी जगह घोषित कर दिया गया है।

• देश में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के तहत चयनित 10 प्रतिष्ठित स्थानों में से मंदिर ने शीर्ष स्थान अर्जित किया।
• पार्वती के अवतार मीनाक्षी और शिव के अवतार सुन्दरेश्वर को समर्पित मंदिर को सबसे स्वच्छ जगह के रूप में ताजमहल, अजमेर शरीफ दरगाह, स्वर्ण मंदिर, तिरुपति मंदिर और श्री वैष्णो देवी मंदिर में से चुना गया।

54. फिजियोलॉजी या मेडिसिन में नोबेल पुरस्कार

करोलिंस्का इंस्टीट्यूट में नोबेल असेंबली ने सर्केडियन रिदम को नियंत्रित करने वाले आणविक तंत्र की खोज के लिए जेफरी सी हॉल, माइकल रॉशबैश और माइकल डब्ल्यू यंग को फिजियोलॉजी या मेडिसिन में 2017 नोबेल पुरस्कार देने का फैसला किया है।

• हॉल का जन्म न्यूयॉर्क में जबकि रोशबेश का कैनसस सिटी में में हुआ था, और वे दोनों ब्रैंडिस विश्वविद्यालय में काम करते थे। माइकल यंग मियामी में पैदा हुए थे और उन्होनें रॉकफेलर यूनिवर्सिटी में काम किया था।
• नोबेल फाउंडेशन द्वारा फिजियोलॉजी या मेडिसिन में नोबेल पुरस्कार, जीवन विज्ञान और चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट खोजों के लिए साल में एक बार प्रदान किया जाता है।
• फिजियोलॉजी का नोबेल 1895 में डायनामाइट के आविष्कारक स्वीडिश केमिस्ट अल्फ्रेड नोबेल द्वारा अपनी इच्छा द्वारा स्थापित पांच नोबेल पुरस्कारों में से एक है।

55. गुरुत्वाकर्षण तरंगों की खोज के लिए भौतिकी में नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया गया

तीन अमेरिकी भौतिकविदों ने गुरुत्वाकर्षण लहरों की पहली खोज के लिए भौतिकी में नोबेल पुरस्कार जीता है।

• रेनर वीस को 9 मिलियन स्वीडिश क्रोनोर (£ 825,000) का आधा पुरस्कार दिया गया है, जो स्टॉकहोम में रॉयल स्वीडिश एकेडमी ऑफ साइंसेज द्वारा घोषित किया गया है।
• किप थॉर्न और बैरी बरिस पुरस्कार के दूसरे आधे हिस्से को सझा करेंगे।
• सभी तीन वैज्ञानिकों ने लेजर इंटरफेरॉमी गुरुत्वाकर्षण-वेव वेधशाला, या लिगो में प्रमुख भूमिकाएं निभाई हैं, जो 2015 में गुरुत्वाकर्षण तरंगों की पहली ऐतिहासिक खोज थी।

56. स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य मंत्रालय स्‍वच्‍छता पखवाड़े के दौरान सर्वश्रेष्‍ठ योगदान के लिए पुरस्‍कृत

स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य और परिवार कल्‍याण मंत्रालय को स्‍वच्‍छता पखवाड़े के दौरान बेहतरीन योगदान के लिए पुरस्‍कृत किया गया है। भारत सरकार के पेय जल एवं स्‍वच्‍छता मंत्रालय ने स्‍वच्‍छ भारत मिशन के अंतर्गत अंतरमंत्रालय प्रदर्शन में इसे सर्वश्रेष्‍ठ घोषित किया।

• स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य मंत्रालय ने 1 फरवरी, 2017से 15 फरवरी, 2017 तक स्‍वच्‍छता पखवाड़े का आयोजन किया था।
• स्‍व्‍च्‍छ भारत मिशन की तीसरी वर्षगांठ पर 2 अक्‍टूबर, 2017को यह पुरस्‍कार प्रदान किया गया। स्‍वास्‍थ्‍य परिवार कल्‍याण मंत्रालय के सचिव श्री सी.के. मिश्रा ने यह पुरस्‍कार ग्रहण किया।

57. शास्त्रीय गायक माणिक भिडे को भीमसेन जोशी पुरस्कार

प्रसिद्ध संगीतकार मानिक भिडे को संगीत के क्षेत्र में उनके योगदान के लिए वर्ष 2017-18 के लिए प्रतिष्ठित भारतरत्न पंडित भीमसेन जोशी पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया है।

• महाराष्ट्र सरकार के प्रदर्शन कलाओं की श्रेणी में सर्वौच्च नकद पुरस्कार में 5 लाख रुपये, एक पट्टिका और उद्धरण शामिल है।

58. रसायन विज्ञान में 2017 का नोबेल पुरस्कार

जैविक अणुओं से बनी छवियों में सुधार के लिए रसायन विज्ञान में 2017 नोबेल पुरस्कार से तीन वैज्ञानिकों को सम्मानित किया गया है।

• जैक्स डबोकेट, जोकिम फ्रैंक और रिचर्ड हेंडरसन 9 मिलियन क्रोनर (8,31,000 पाउंड) का पुरस्कार सझा करेंगे।
• उन्होंने क्रायो-इलेक्ट्रॉन माइक्रोस्कोपी (क्रायो-ईएम) नामक एक तकनीक विकसित की, जो जीवन की मशीनरी को देखने के लिए प्रक्रिया को सरल करती है।
• प्रो डबोकेट का जन्म स्विट्जरलैंड में हुआ, जोचिम फ्रैंक जर्मन और रिचर्ड हेंडरसन एडिनबर्ग, ब्रिटेन से है।

59. आईआईएम संकाय सदस्य शिक्षण नवाचार पुरस्कार 2016 के लिए चयनित

आईआईएम बैंगलोर के वित्त और लेखा क्षेत्र के एक संकाय सदस्य प्रो पी सी नारायण को भारत सरकार के मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा 'टीचिंग इनोवेटर अवार्ड-2016' के लिए चुना गया है।

• यह पुरस्कार एमएचआरडी द्वारा जल्द ही एक समारोह में प्रस्तुत किया जाएगा।
• अध्यापन नवाचार जिसके चलते प्रो नारायण को पुरस्कार प्रदान किया था, जिसका नाम "शिक्षक-केंद्रित" से 'छात्र-केंद्रित कक्षा' और 'ऑनलाइन लर्निंग' था।

60. कजुओ इशिगुरो ने साहित्य में नोबेल पुरस्कार जीता

ब्रिटिश लेखक कज़ुओ इशिगुरो, जिन्हें अपने उपन्यास द रिमेन्स ऑफ़ द डे के लिए जाना जाता है ने 5 अक्टुबर को नोबेल साहित्य पुरस्कार जीता।

• नोबेल कमेटी ने पुरस्कार का एलान करते हुए अपने बयान में कहा है कि काजुओ इशिगुरो ने "अपने बेहद भावुक उपन्यासों से दुनिया के साथ संपर्क के हमारी मायावी समझ की गहराई पर से पर्दा उठाया,"।
• वह नागासाकी में पैदा हुए व पांच साल के थे जब वह अपने परिवार के साथ ब्रिटेन में चले गए।
• सन् 1901 में फ्रांस के सुली प्रूडोहोम को प्रथम नोबेल साहित्य पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया। 114 इसके विजेताओं में से केवल 14 महिलाएं हैं।

61. गौरी लंकेश एन्ना पोलितकोवस्काया पुरस्कार से सम्मानित

दिवंगत पत्रकार और कार्यकर्ता गौरी लंकेश को मरणोपरांत वार्षिक एन्ना पोलितकोवस्काया पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया जाएगा, जो युद्ध और संघर्ष क्षेत्र से महिलाओं के मानवाधिकार रक्षकों के लिए एक पुरस्कार है, जो उनकी निडर पत्रकारिता के लिए घोषित किया गया।

• यह पुरस्कार अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार संगठन रीच ऑल वुमेन इन वॉर लंकेश को दिया गया जिनकी 5 सितंबर को अपने निवास के बाहर गोली मारकर हत्या दी गई।
• कन्नड़ अखबार "गौरी लंकेश पेट्रीके" की संपादक लंकेश, इस पुरस्कार को जीतने वाली पहली भारतीय हैं।

62. नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार 2017

शांति के नोबेल पुरस्कार 2017 का ऐलान हो गया है। इस साल एंटी न्यूक्लियर अभियान चलाने वाली संस्था आईसीएएन (ICAN) को ये सम्मान मिला है। यह एक 100  से अधिक देशो में चलने वाले गैर सरकारी संगठनों का गठबंधन है।

• नॉर्वे की नोबेल कमेटी के मुताबिक, ICAN को यह पुरस्कार दुनिया को परमाणु हथियारों के इस्तेमाल के बाद भयानक परिस्थितियों से अवगत कराने के लिए उस दिशा में किए गए प्रयासों की वजह से दिया जा रहा है।

63. मैक्स वर्स्टप्पन ने मलेशियाई ग्रांड प्रिक्स जीती

रेड बुल के मैक्स वर्स्टेपेन के एक कमांडिंग ड्राइव में तीन बार के विश्व चैंपियन लुईस हैमिल्टन को हराकर सेपांग सर्किट में मलेशियाई ग्रां प्री जीत ली।

• वर्स्टप्पन ने चौथे लैप में हैमिल्टन को पीछे छोड़ा।

64. पूजा कादियन ने वुशु वर्ल्ड में भारत के लिये प्रथम स्वर्ण जीता

पूजा कादियन ने इतिहास बनाते हुए विश्व वुशु चैंपियनशिप में भारत का पहला स्वर्ण पदक जीता।

• तीन बार की विश्व चैंपियनशिप रजत पदक विजेता ने 75 किलो महिला सेंड प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।
• उन्होंने फाइनल में रूस की एव्जेनिया स्टेपानोवा को हराया।

65. पूर्व आई एवं बी मंत्री पुरुषोत्तम लाल का निधन

पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री और समाजवादी नेता पुरुषोत्तम लाल कौशिक का आयु से संबंधित बीमारियों के कारण निधन हो गया है। वह 87 साल के थे।

• उन्होंने 1977-1979 के दौरान तत्कालीन प्रधान मंत्री मोरारजी देसाई के मंत्रिमंडल में पर्यटन और नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था।
• जुलाई 1979-जनवरी 1980 के दौरान तत्कालीन प्रधान मंत्री चरण सिंह के मंत्रिमंडल में उन्होंने सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय का नेतृत्व किया।

1. International Day of Older Persons: October 1

The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year.

On December 14, 1990 the United Nations General Assembly voted to establish October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons as recorded in Resolution 45/106. 

The day was observed for the first time on October 1, 1991.

The theme of the International Day of Older Persons 2017 is “Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society.”

2. UAE begins collecting 'sin' taxes on tobacco, energy drinks

The United Arab Emirates has begun collecting new "sin" taxes on tobacco products, energy drinks and soft drinks.

• Tobacco and energy drinks will be taxed at 100 percent and soft drinks at 50 percent.
• The new tax push comes as the UAE and other oil-rich Gulf nations have struggled with low global energy prices.

3. Nepal, India to conduct first joint tiger count

For the first time, Nepal and India will undertake a joint tiger census next month in their national parks, forests and protected areas.

• Conservation authorities and experts would install cameras in various locations in tiger habitats as well as in buffer zones to capture and track the movements of the tiger.
• The counting of tigers will begin from the second week of November.

4. India picked as guest country at World Summit of Governments

The World Government Summit announced that India is a guest country in its upcoming gathering.

• The Annual Gathering is scheduled for February 11 to 13, 2018.
• Honorary guests from India will join the notable list of speakers synonymous with the World Government Summit to showcase the country’s emerging economic growth, highlight valuable knowledge, skills, and capabilities and elaborate on the country’s unique culture, according to the Summit.

6. Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurates Pratham-Shyok bridge in Leh

  

Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the Pratham-Shyok bridge that will link Leh to Karakoram, providing connectivity on the strategically important Darbuk-Shyok-Daulat Beg Olde axis for military transport.

• The bridge is a major development on the Shyok Gong river which will enhance travel of locals as well as the Army in this strategic region.
• It will increase travel and communication for strategic transport, the Minister said.

7. The third edition of 'Women of India Organic Festival'

To celebrate and promote women entrepreneurs and farmers in the organic sector from across India, the Ministry of Women and Child Development is hosting the 3rd annual ‘Women of India Organic Festival’ from October 1st to 15th, 2017, in New Delhi.

• Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Union Minister for Women and Child Development, inaugurated the festival in the presence of Shri Virendra Kumar, Minister of State, Ministry of Women and Child Development, on October 1 at Dilli Haat (INA).
• With the theme ‘Good for Women; Good for India; Good for You’, the Ministry intends to highlight the health and environmental advantages of organic goods, provide a platform for women engaged in it and boost the development of sustainable and easily accessible sales outlets for women producers from the remotest corners of India.

8. India opens two border crossing points with Myanmar, Bangladesh

India has opened two immigration check posts along the borders with Myanmar and Bangladesh, a reflection of its growing closeness with the two eastern neighbours.

• The home ministry said the central government has designated Zorinpui land check post in Lawngtlai district of Mizoram as an authorised immigration check post for entry into or exit from India with valid travel documents for all classes of passengers to or from Myanmar.
• In a separate notification, the ministry said the central government designated Kawrpuichhuah land check post in Lunglei district of Mizoram as an authorised immigration check post for entry into or exit from India with valid travel documents for all classes of passengers to or from Bangladesh.
• India shares a 1,643-km-long border with Myanmar which touches Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram.
• India shares a 4,096-km-long border with Bangladesh which touches Assam, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya and West Bengal.

9. President Kovind inaugurates Shirdi Airport

President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the swank new Shirdi Airport in Ahmednagar and the inaugural Alliance Air commercial flight to Mumbai.

• The inauguration of the airport, developed by Maharashtra Airport Development Corporation (MADC), also marks the start of the year-long centenary celebrations of Shri Saibaba Samadhi for which over 11 million pilgrims are expected from around the world.
• The small town in western Maharashtra is a world-famous pilgrim spot for the ‘samadhi’ temple of a 20th century saint, known as Saibaba, who is revered by all communities.

10. MP CM launches 'Single Click Pension Delivery' scheme

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched 'Single Click Pension Delivery' scheme, wherein the money will go directly into the account of the beneficiaries.

• More than 35 lakh people of the state will be benefitted from this move.
• Chauhan honoured the elderly who completed the age of 100 years with the "Shataayu" award.

11. MCI to give Unique Permanent Registration Number to all doctors

The Medical Council of India has written to the country’s largest body of doctors to help digitise India’s registry of doctors through a unique registration number similar to AADHAAR as part of its ongoing e-governance initiative.

• The move is expected to help doctors practice in different States without seeking different licences across borders.

12. Government to celebrate Swachh Bharat Diwas on 2nd October

The third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission will be celebrated as "Swachh Bharat Diwas" on 2nd October.

• October 2 is also celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence. On June 15, 2007, the United Nations General Assembly had voted for this.

13. Bhopal set to become first state capital to get trans toilet

Over five months after the union government asked all states to allow transgender people to use any public toilet of their choice, Bhopal is set to become the first state capital to come up with an exclusive toilet for the transgender community.

• It will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
• In April this year, the union ministry of drinking water and sanitation had issued guidelines to state governments to put in efforts to make people from the transgender community feel as equal citizens.

14. Thaawarchand Gehlot Flags off “WALKATHON” for Older Persons

To mark the ‘International day of Older Persons’ on 2nd October, more than 5000 participants gathered at India Gate for a noble cause to spread the message of caring and giving respect to older persons and senior citizens.

• This year’s theme was “Stepping into the Future: Tapping the Talents, Contributions and Participation of Older Persons in Society.
• Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot Union Minister of Social Justice & Empowerment along with the Minister of State Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, took the pledge with other dignitaries and 5000 participants.
• Then the “Walkathon” was flagged off by Shri Thawarchand Gehlot & MOS Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar and they also took part in 1 km Walkathon with all the dignitaries.

15. Rajghat gets Mahatma Statue, for the first time

Rajghat, the Samadhi of the Father of the Nation in the national capital , has for the first time acquired a new feature that could appeal to the large number of visitors.

• Vice-President of India Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu unveiled a 1.80 metre tall bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of the 148 Birth Anniversary of the champion of country’s independence.
• The statue, sculpted by the renowned Shri Ram Sutar is installed in the Parking Area of Rajghat Samadhi Complex at a cost of Rs.8.73 lakhs. It is mounted on a two feet high pedestal clad with granite.
• The famous message of Gandhi ji “Be the Change You Wish to See” is inscribed on the front side of the pedestal. Installation of the Statue is a part of a large number of improvement works at Rajghat undertaken during the last three years.

16. Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 to be Held in Hyderabad

A high-level delegation from the Government of India and the United States met, at NITI Aayog to plan the 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit, which will be held November 28-30 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India.

• The Summit will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Advisor to the President, Ivanka Trump, who leads the U.S. delegation. 
• The GES is the preeminent annual gathering of emerging entrepreneurs, investors, and business leaders from around the world. 

17. Chandrababu Naidu launches 'Swachh Andhra Mission'

Taking the cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Mission, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched Swachh Andhra Mission on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

• Ace shuttler PV Sindhu, who has been chosen as the brand ambassador of Swachh Andhra, joined Naidu on this occasion.

18. 'No helmet, no petrol’ rule comes into force in Andhra Pradesh

'No helmet, no petrol' rule for two-wheeler riders to reduce road accident deaths has come into force in Andhra Pradesh.

• Chandrababu has sanctioned Rs 10 crore for equipment to implement this rule.
• He also ordered the officials to conduct a weekly check on the motorists for effective implementation of the rule.
• Naidu said that road safety rules must be implemented strictly to reduce the number of road accidents in the states.

19. Karnataka Government launches Mathru Poorna scheme

The Karnataka government has launched Mathru Poorna, a scheme meant to meet the nutritional needs of pregnant and lactating women in rural areas.

• Under the programme, pregnant and lactating poor women in rural areas will get one nutritious meal daily for 25 days in a month.

20. Upgradation of the Women’s Police Training Centre at Yamethin, Myanmar

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given its ex-post facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Myanmar on upgradation of the Women’s Police Training Centre at Yamethin, Myanmar. The MoU was signed on 6th September, 2017.

• The MoU covers upgradation of the Yamethin Women’s Police Training Centre to further augment the capabilities of the Myanmar Government to build capacities of its police force with technical and financial assistance from Government of India.

21. High Level Committee for proper management of water resources in NER 

The Government has constituted a high-level committee for proper management of the water resources in the North Eastern Region (NER) under the Chairmanship of Rajiv Kumar, Vice-Chairman, Niti Aayog.

• This is a sequel to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visit to Guwahati in August this year to review the flood situation and relief work in the North Eastern States.
• The Committee would facilitate optimising benefits of appropriate water management in the form of hydro-electric power, agriculture, bio-diversity conservation, reduced flood damage erosion, inland water transport, forestry, fishery and eco-tourism. Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) will serve as the coordinating point.
• The Committee will submit its report, including Plan of Action, by June, 2018.
• During the review of the flood situation with the Chief Ministers of Assam, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh, the Prime Minister had announced constitution of a High-Level Committee for holistic management of water resources in the NER. 

22. Turtle Sanctuary to be set up in Allahabad

In order to protect the rich aquatic biodiversity of river Ganga from escalating anthropogenic pressures, development of a Turtle sanctuary in Allahabad along with a River Biodiversity Park at Sangam have been approved under Namami Gange programme.

• The project at an estimated cost of Rs 1.34 crore would include development of River Biodiversity Park at Sangam (confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and mythical Sarasvati), establishment of a Turtle Rearing Centre (Permanent nursery at Triveni Pushp and makeshift annual hatcheries) and awareness about the importance of river Ganga and imperativeness of its conservation has been approved.
• This project will provide much needed platform to make the visitors aware of their place in the ecosystem, their roles and responsibilities, improve their understanding of the complexity of co-existence with the environment and help generate awareness for reducing the impact of human activities on critical natural resources.

23. Country’s first ITI for dibyangans in Dibrugarh

Foundation stone for the first ever Industrial Training Institute for the Dibyangans exclusively was laid at Dibrugarh ITI Complex at Borboruah, Dibrugarh by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

• This is a one of a kind institute in the country in order to set up a new pathway for empowerment of the differently abled youth of the state.

24. Gujarat first state to slash VAT on fuel prices

Ahead of the state assembly elections, the state government has cut value-added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel, making it the first state to follow the Centre's directions to do so.

• Recently, the union government cut basic excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 a litre.
• Gujarat currently levies a 28.96 per cent VAT on petrol and diesel.

25. Paryatan Parv of M/O Tourism begins across the country

The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with other Central Ministries, State Governments and Stakeholders is organizing a “Paryatan Parv” across the country from the 5th to 25th October 2017.

• The programme is being organized with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of “Tourism for All”.
• The Parv is being inaugurated at the Humayun’s Tomb, New Delhi  by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State (I/C) for Culture.

26. Centre launches six-year secure Himalaya project

The Centre launched a six-year project to ensure conservation of locally and globally significant biodiversity, land and forest resources in the high Himalayan ecosystem spread over four states in India.

• Protection of snow leopard and other endangered species and their habitats is one of the key components of the project which will also focus on securing livelihoods of the people in the region and enhancing enforcement to reduce wildlife crime.
• The project - called SECURE Himalaya - was launched by the Union environment minister Harsh Vardhan in association with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the inaugural day of the Global Wildlife Programme (GWP) conference.

27. Mukesh Ambani is India’s Wealthiest Man for the 10th straight year

Reliance Industries chief Mukesh Ambani emerged as India's wealthiest for the 10th straight year as his net worth swelled to USD 38 billion (nearly Rs 2.5 lakh crore) while the wealth of 100 richest rose by 26 per cent despite economic hiccups.

• Wipro's Azim Premji was the distant second with a net worth of USD 19 billion, moving up two places from last year, while Sun Pharma's Dilip Shanghvi slipped from his earlier second place to the ninth now (USD 12.1 billion) on Forbes magazine's annual 'India Rich List 2017'.

28. UP govt launches mass marriage scheme

The Uttar Pradesh government approved the Mukhyamantri Samoohik Vivaah Yojana, a mass marriage scheme, wherein Rs 35,000 will be spent on each couple, besides gifting them mobile phones and household items.

• Under the scheme, mass marriages will be conducted by the social welfare department.
• Programmes in this regard will be organised by urban local bodies like nagar panchayat, nagar palika and nagar nigam, kshetra panchayats, zila panchayats, government/semi-government organisations and NGOs, which will be authorised by district magistrates of respective districts.

29. President to Inaugurate India Water Week 2017

President Shri Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate India Water Week – 2017 on October 10, 2017 in New Delhi in the presence of Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari and Union Ministers of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal and Shri Dr. Satya Pal Singh.  

• About 1500 delegates from India and 13 other countries will attend the five day international event. The theme of India Water Week – 2017 is “Water and Energy for Inclusive Growth”.
• The 5th edition of India Water Week (IWW) will be celebrated with a multi disciplinary conference and a concurrently running exhibition enriching the theme and showcasing the technologies and solutions available for the areas under deliberation of the meet. 

30. Dr. Mahesh Sharma to inaugurate ‘Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav-2017’

The “Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav (RSM)-2017” will be held from 7th to 9th October, 2017  in India’s 1st World Heritage City i.e Ahmadabad, Gujarat. 

• Ms. Sujata Prasad, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture addressing the media persons Ahmadabad, Gujarat said that Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav was conceived by the Ministry of Culture in the year 2015 and after the grand success of the First Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav in November-2015, the Ministry of Culture decided to organize it with an intent to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the Country in all its rich and varied dimensions, viz Handicrafts, Cuisine, Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Documentation and Performing Arts-Folk, Tribal, Classical and Contemporary- all in one place. 
• So far, this Ministry has organised 5 RSM’s i.e 2 in Delhi, 1 each in Varanasi, Bengaluru and RSM North East in all NE State capitals.

31. First Edition of the ASEAN India Music Festival held in New Delhi

Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India in collaboration with Ministry of Culture and Seher presents the first ever ASEAN-India Music Festival from October 6th-8th 2017 at Purana Quila in New Delhi.

• The Festival is being organised to celebrate the 25th year anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
• The theme for this commemorative year "Shared Values, Common Destiny” along with this Music Festival aims to boost cultural influences among the peoples of the ASEAN member states and India.

32. Three-day Global Medical Conference Begins In Chandigarh

A three-day international conference, aimed at engaging industry and academic leaders to discuss current unmet medical needs, began at CSIR-Institute of Microbial Technology (IMTECH) in Chandigarh.

• CSIR-IMTECH is a premier microbial institute under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.
• The aim of the conference 'IMTechCon 2017' is to engage industry and academic leaders to discuss current unmet medical needs globally.

33. ISRO to set up research centre in Guwahati

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will set up a research centre in Guwahati for start ups, academicians, environmentalists and entrepreneurs.

• ISRO would set up the exclusive research facility in Assam to explore the possibility of using geospatial technology, which include data generated through global positioning system (GPS), geographical information systems (GIS) and satellite remote sensing for expediting the development of Assam, officials said.
• Remote sensing technology would be used for accurate flood warning system, prevention of soil erosion and land slides to name a few.
• The state government would provide land to ISRO free of cost for the research centre.

34. RCom calls off merger deal with Aircel

Reliance Communications (RCom) has called off plans to merge its wireless business with rival Aircel, citing legal and regulatory uncertainties.

• Had the merger gone through, it would have created India’s third-largest telecom provider with 175 million subscribers.
• The proposed deal with Aircel signed last September.

35. Fitch lowers India's growth forecast to 6.9%

Fitch Ratings has lowered India's economic growth forecast for the current fiscal to 6.9 per cent from 7.4 per cent after the GDP growth "unexpectedly faltered" in the April-June quarter.

• The Asian Development Bank (ADB) had last month slashed India's GDP growth forecast for the current fiscal to 7 per cent from 7.4 per cent owing to weakness in private consumption, manufacturing output and business investment.
• India had posted a 7.1 per cent growth in 2016-17.

36. GIFT-IFSC ranks at 10th place in global financial centres index

India's first IFSC has been featured at the tenth place in the latest September 2017 edition of Global Financial Centres Index 22 (GFCI) - London.

• The Gandhinagar-based IFSC has ranked ahead of other leading financial hubs at Luxembourg, Seoul, Abu Dhabi, Toronto and Beijing.
• GIFT has been put in the same league as other top financial centres at New York and Hong Kong.

37. US ships first lot of crude to India

The first shipment of US crude oil to India arrived at Paradip Port in Odisha, as part of the two million barrels contracted by India.

• The shipment follows recent commitments to US oil purchases by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), both of which have placed orders for over 2 million barrels from the US.
• US crude oil shipments to India have the potential to boost bilateral trade by up to $2 billion.

38. AIIB, ADB approves $ 100 mn loan for India’s power sector

China-led AIIB and multilateral funding agency ADB will co-finance a USD 100-million loan for India to improve power transmission network and expand the use of solar and wind energy.

• The loan, approved by the Board of Directors of the Beijing-headquartered Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), involves co-financing of USD 50 million from the Manila-based Asian Development Bank (ADB).
• This was the fourth co-financing made by the AIIB and the ADB, two major multilateral development banks in Asia.
• India is the second largest shareholder in the AIIB. The bank has an authorised capital of USD 100 billion.

39. RBI keeps repo rate, reverse repo rate unchanged

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has kept the repo rate and reverse repo rate unchanged at 6 percent and 5.75 percent respectively.

• Repo Rate: Unchanged at 6%
• Revrese Repo Rate: Unchanged at 5.75%
• Marginal Standing Facility (MSF) Rate: Unchanged at 6.25%
• Bank Rate: Unchanged at 6.25%
• Cash Reserve Ratio: Unchanged at 4%
• Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR): Changed by 50 basis points to 19.5%

40. Bangladesh Signs USD 4.5 Billion Loan Deal With India

Bangladesh signed a whopping USD 4.5 billion third line of credit (LoC) agreement with India for its infrastructure and social sector development.

• The agreement was signed in the presence of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and his Bangladeshi counterpart A M A Muhith.
• The new Indian line of credit, worth USD 4.5 billion, will be used to fund 17 major projects in Bangladesh, which include electricity, railroads, roads, shipping and ports.

41. India signs €300 million Finance Contract with European Investment Bank

Government of India and European Investment Bank (EIB) signed the Finance Contract for lending of € 300 million for Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase II Line R6.

• Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase II is to be jointly financed by the European Investment Bank (€500 million) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (€300 million).
• The first tranche of Euro 300mn was signed on October 5.
• The project envisages extension of East-West & North-South lines for Bangalore Metro Rail which includes a total length of 72.095 km (13.79 km underground) and 61 stations with 12 underground stations.

42. RBI forms High-level Task Force on Public Credit Registry

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has formed a High-level Task Force on Public Credit Registry (PCR) for India.

• The task force has been constituted under the chairmanship of Yeshwant M. Deosthalee.
• It will review the current availability of information on credit, the adequacy of existing information system and identify gaps that could be filled by a PCR.

43. HDFC Life launches service bot Neo

HDFC Life Insurance Company has launched Neo — a servicing bot for Twitter that uses artificial intelligence for customer service.

• The insurer hopes to deploy the bot in answering policy —related queries on social media.
• This is the second bot put in operation by HDFC Life, after the launch of SPOK, which was an email bot to answer customer queries.

44. Axis Bank acquires Freecharge

The country’s third largest private sector lender Axis Bank said it has acquired payments wallet Freecharge for Rs 373 crore in an all-cash deal.

• Sangram Singh has been appointed as the CEO of Freecharge Payment Technologies Private Ltd, it said.
• Freecharge presently has revenue of about Rs. 80 crore.

45. Vijaya Bank inks MoU with HPCL for digital payments

Vijaya Bank has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) for enabling all HPCL retail outlets with BHIM/UPI merchant solutions.

• This rollout will empower all petrol pump attendants and LPG delivery personnel to accept digital payments.
• Customers can make payments by scanning a payment QR code, using BHIM Vijaya or any BHIM app that supports payments via UPI.

47. President Appoints Commission to Examine Sub Categorization of OBC

The President on 02.10.2017, in exercise of the powers conferred by article 340 of the Constitution appointed a Commission to examine the sub-categorisation of Other Backward Classes.

48. Yatinder Pal Singh Suri elected as PPMAI Chairman

The Process Plant and Machinery Association of India (PPMAI) has elected Yatinder Pal Singh Suri as its new Chairman.

• Suri is currently working as the Managing Director and India head of Finland-based stainless steel major Outokumpu.
• PPMAI is a service organisation having members from companies serving in industries such as oil and gas processing, refineries, fertilisers, chemicals, petrochemicals, synthetic fibre, and environmental controls.

49. Rajnish Kumar as new SBI chairman

Rajnish Kumar, 59, the senior most of the managing directors at State Bank of India (SBI), will become the 25th chairman of the country’s largest lender, succeeding Arundhati Bhattacharya, who is set to retire on 6 October.

• The government announced his appointment for three years. Kumar currently is in charge of retail banking at SBI.
• Kumar’s appointment comes at a time when SBI’s profitability is under strain because of ballooning bad loans and sluggish credit growth.
• Kumar’s predecessor Bhattacharya was the first woman chairperson of the 200-year-old state-owned bank.

50. Mongolia ushers in new Prime Minister

The Mongolian legislature installed a new prime minister, bringing into focus the potential implications for diplomatic relations with North Korea as well as neighboring Russia and China.

• Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, the deputy prime minister from the ruling Mongolian People's Party, took office after a confirmation vote in the parliament.
• He succeeds Erdenebat Jargaltulga, who was ousted by the legislature last month in a no-confidence vote.

51. Pooja Kapur is next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Macedonia

Ms. Pooja Kapur, (IFS: 1996) has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Macedonia, with residence in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria.

• She is expected to take up the assignment shortly. She is presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Bulgaria.

• The Ministry will felicitate 20 individuals and agencies in 7 categories for significant contribution towards furthering the Clean India objective in urban areas.
• KRIBHCO has been chosen among the Companies category for marketing the highest quantity of 22,768 tons of compost during 2016-17.
• Delhi based citizen group ‘My Delhi Keep It Clean’ gets the award for promoting voluntary efforts to clean public places effectively using Face Book, in the Self-Help Group category.
• Richmond Park, Gurugram, located in DLF Phase-IV and completed in 2002 has been chosen for the award for exemplary decentralized waste management initiative through waste segregation at source, in the RWAs category.
• RWA Federation of Mysuru has shown the way in Zero-waste effluent management system.

53. Meenakshi temple wins swachh award

The Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai has been adjudged the cleanest iconic place in the country under Swachhta Hi Seva (cleanliness is service) programme.

• The temple earned the top slot from among 10 iconic places selected under the Swachh Bharath Mission in the country.
• Dedicated to Meenakshi, an incarnation of Parvati, and her consort Sundareswar, an incarnation of Shiva, the temple was adjudged the Best Swachh Iconic Place from a formidable list of contenders that included the Taj Mahal, Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the Golden Temple, Tirupathi temple and Sri Vaishno Devi temple.

54. Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine

The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institute has decided to award the 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine jointly to Jeffrey C. Hall, Michael Rosbash and Michael W. Young for their discoveries of molecular mechanisms controlling the circadian rhythm.

• Hall was born in New York, Rosbash in Kansas City, and they both worked at Brandeis University. Michael Young was born in Miami and worked at Rockefeller University.
• The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, administered by the Nobel Foundation, is awarded once a year for outstanding discoveries in the fields of life sciences and medicine.
• It is one of five Nobel Prizes established in 1895 by Swedish chemist Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite, in his will.
• As of 2015, 106 Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine have been awarded to 198 men and 12 women.
• The first Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded in 1901 to the German physiologist Emil von Behring, for his work on serum therapy and the development of a vaccine against diphtheria.
• The first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, Gerty Cori, received it in 1947 for her role in elucidating the metabolism of glucose.

55. Nobel prize in physics awarded for discovery of gravitational waves

Three American physicists have won the Nobel prize in physics for the first observations of gravitational waves.

• Rainer Weiss has been awarded one half of the 9m Swedish kronor (£825,000) prize, announced by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm.
• Kip Thorne and Barry Barish will share the other half of the prize.
• All three scientists have played leading roles in the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory, or Ligo, experiment, which in 2015 made the first historic observation of gravitational waves.

56. Ministry of Health adjudged best for ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’, receives award

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been adjudged as the best department for its contribution during Swachhta Pakhwada, an inter-Ministry initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission of Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.

• The Health Ministry observed the Swachhta Pakhwada from 1st February, 2017 to 15th February, 2017.
• The award was presented to the Ministry on 2nd October, 2017, the third anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission. Shri C K Mishra, Secretary (HFW) received the award on behalf of the Ministry.

57. Classical singer Manik Bhide chosen for Bhimsen Joshi award

Noted vocalist Manik Bhide was chosen for the prestigious Bharatratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi award for year 2017-18 for her contribution in the field of music.

• The Maharashtra government award, the highest in the category of performing arts, consist of Rs five lakh in cash, a plaque and citation.

58. The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2017

The 2017 Nobel Prize in chemistry has been awarded to three scientists for improving images made of biological molecules.

• Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Frank and Richard Henderson will share the nine million kronor (£831,000) prize.
• They developed a technique called cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), which simplifies the process for looking at the machinery of life.
• Prof Dubochet was born in Switzerland, Joachim Frank is German and Richard Henderson is from Edinburgh, UK.

59. IIM Faculty Member Selected For Teaching Innovator Award 2016

IIM Bangalore's Prof. P C Narayan, a faculty from the Finance & Accounting area, has been selected for the 'Teaching Innovator Award-2016' by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

• The Award will be presented at a ceremony by the MHRD, soon.
• The teaching innovation that fetched Prof. Narayan the award was titled "Transitioning from a 'Teacher-centric' to a 'Student-centric' Classroom and Online Learning".

60. Kazuo Ishiguro wins Nobel Prize in Literature

British author Kazuo Ishiguro, best known for his novel The Remains of the Day, has won the Nobel Literature Prize on October 5.

• "In novels of great emotional force, has uncovered the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world," the Academy wrote in its citation.
• Born in Nagasaki, he moved to Britain with his family when he was five years old.
• Of the 114 laureates honoured since the prize was first awarded to France's Sully Prudhomme in 1901, only 14 are women.

61. Gauri Lankesh named for Anna Politkovskaya Award

Slain journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh will be posthumously awarded the Annual Anna Politkovskaya Award, an award for women human rights defenders from war and conflict zones, for her fearless journalism, it was announced on Thursday.

• The award has been conferred by international human rights organisation Reach All Women in WAR (RAW in WAR) to Lankesh a month after she was shot dead outside her residence here on September 5.
• Lankesh, the editor of Kannada tabloid “Gauri Lankesh Patrike” is the first Indian to win the award.

62. 2017 Nobel Prize in Peace

The 2017 Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), a coalition of non-governmental organisations from over 100 countries around the globe.

• The Norwegian Nobel Committee honoured the Geneva-based group “for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons.”

63. Max Verstappen wins Malaysian Grand Prix

A commanding drive from Red Bull's Max Verstappen saw him soundly beat three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to win Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang Circuit.

• Verstappen grabbed the lead from then race leader Hamilton on lap 4.
• Daniel Ricciardo held off Sebastian Vettel for third. Sebastian finished in fourth place.

64 Pooja Kadian Clinches India's Maiden Gold In Wushu Worlds

Pooja Kadian created history as she bagged India's maiden gold medal at the World Wushu Championships.

• The three-time World Championships silver medallist struck gold in the 75 kg of the women's sanda competition.
• She defeated Evgeniya Stepanova of Russia in the final.

65. Former I&B Minister Purushottam Lal passes away

Former Union minister and socialist leader Purushottam Lal Kaushik died due to age-related ailments. He was 87.

• He had served as tourism and civil aviation minister in the then Prime Minister Morarji Desai's cabinet during 1977- 1979.
• He headed the Information and Broadcasting Ministry in the then Prime Minister Charan Singh's cabinet during July 1979-January 1980.
