1. 17 साल की बहस के बाद जीएसटी लागू

आजादी के बाद से भारत का सबसे बड़ा कर सुधार, वस्तु और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) 1 जुलाई को 17 साल की बहस के बाद लागू हुआ।

संसद के ऐतिहासिक सेंट्रल हॉल में देर रात नया कर शासन शुरू हुआ।

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इसे "गुड एंड सिंपल टैक्स" कहा जो कि भारत के आर्थिक एकीकरण को दर्शाता है।

जीएसटी लॉन्च करने वाला भारत 161 वां देश है।

2. प्रधानमंत्री ने सौनी योजना के अधीन अजी डैम की भराई का शुभारंभ किया

प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी ने सौनी योजना के अधीन राजकोट के निकट अजी डैम की भराई का शुभारंभ किया।

उन्होंने गुजरात के अरावली जिले के मोडासा शहर में 552 करोड़ रूपये की दो जल आपूर्ति परियोजनाएं शुरू की।

इन जल आपूर्ति परियोजनाओं से पहाड़ी जिले के 8 लाख से अधिक निवासी लाभान्वित होंगे।

3. कोयंबटूर में सियारा ओडीसी इमारत को दुनिया की दूसरी सर्वाधिक ग्रीन रेटिंग  

सियारा ओडीसी इमारत को LEED प्रमाणन के अंतर्गत 110 में से 103 के स्कोर के साथ दुनिया की दूसरी सर्वाधिक रेटिंग वाली ग्रीन बिल्डिंग के रूप में मान्यता दी गई है।

तीन मंजिला इमारत मानव का स्वास्थ्य और पर्यावरण पर इसके प्रभाव को कम करते हुए संसाधन उपयोग की दक्षता बढ़ाने के लिये डिजाइन और निर्माण किया गया है।

4. प्रधान मंत्री मोदी ने आधिकारिक तौर पर ट्रांसस्टेडिया लांच किया

भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने औपचारिक रूप से अहमदाबाद, गुजरात में ट्रांसस्टाडिया का उद्घाटन किया।

बहुउद्देश्यीय स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स में राज्य में अपनी तरह का पहला 20000 सीटर अत्याधुनिक फुटबॉल स्टेडियम है।

इसका औपचारिक उद्घाटन पहली बार एक वैश्विक खेल आयोजन की मेजबानी के लगभग आठ महीने बाद हुआ है।

द एरेना बाय ट्रांसस्टैडिया एक 550 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजना है जिसे एक अद्वितीय सार्वजनिक निजी भागीदारी (पीपीपी) मॉडल पर बनाया गया है और इसे भारत का पहला परिवर्तनीय स्टेडियम कहा गया है।

5. प्रधान मंत्री ने टेक्सटाइल इंडिया 2017 का उद्घाटन किया

प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने गुजरात के गांधीनगर में आयोजित होने वाले भारत के पहले मेगा वस्त्र व्यापार मेला, टेक्सटाइल इंडिया 2017 का उद्घाटन किया।

महात्मा मंदिर, गांधीनगर में सभा को संबोधित करते हुए प्रधान मंत्री ने कहा कि मेक इन इंडिया पर आधारित, कपड़ा उद्योग को 'कौशल, पैमाने, गति' और 'शून्य दोष, शून्य प्रभाव' के मंत्रों से जोड़ा जा रहा है।

प्रधान मंत्री ने पहले हेलीपैड ग्राउंड, गांधीनगर में आयोजित वस्त्र उद्योग प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया।

6. छोटी बचत, पीपीएफ पर ब्याज दरें 0.1 प्रतिशत कम

सरकार ने जुलाई-सितंबर तिमाही में पीपीएफ, किसान विकास पत्र और सुकन्या समृद्धि जैसी छोटी बचत योजनाओं पर ब्याज दर को 0.1 प्रतिशत कम करने की घोषणा की है।

हालांकि, बचत जमा पर ब्याज दर नहीं बदली गई है और यह सालाना 4 फीसदी बनी हुई है।

सार्वजनिक भविष्य निधि (पीपीएफ) योजना में निवेश पर 7.8% की वार्षिक दर मिलेगी।

किसान विकास पत्र (केवीपी) पर 7.5 प्रतिशत दर मिलेगी और 115 महीनों में परिपक्व होगा।

सुकन्या समृद्धी खाता योजना, सालाना 8.3 प्रतिशत की दर की पेशकश करेगी।

5 साल की वरिष्ठ नागरिक बचत योजना पर निवेश में 8.3 फीसदी दर मिलेगी। वरिष्ठ नागरिक योजना पर ब्याज त्रैमासिक रूप से भुगतान किया जाता है।

7. एसएन सुब्रह्मण्यन ने एलएंडटी के सीईओ और एमडी के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

एसएन सुब्रह्मण्यन 1 जुलाई से लार्सन एंड टुब्रो के सीईओ और प्रबंध निदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण करेंगे, जिससे एएम नाइक के लगभग दो दशक के लंबे कार्यकाल की समाप्ति होगी।

7 अप्रैल को कंपनी बोर्ड द्वारा नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी गई थी और एलएंडटी में नेतृत्व पदों में एक बड़ा बदलाव दर्ज किया गया था जहां नाईक ने 52 साल से अधिक समय तक काम किया है, जिसमें 17 साल से अधिक प्रमुख के रूप में शामिल है।

सुब्रमण्यन वर्तमान में कंपनी के उप प्रबंध निदेशक और अध्यक्ष हैं।

8. आर के पचनन्दा ने आईटीबीपी के महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

आईपीएस आर के पचनन्दा ने इंडो-तिब्बती सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) के नए महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला है।

श्री कृष्णा चौधरी, महानिदेशक, जो सेवानिवृत्त हुए, ने श्री पंचनंदा को कार्यभार सौंप दिया है।

श्री पंचनंदा आईटीबीपी के 29 वें चीफ हैं।

9. नरेन्‍द्र कुमार सिन्‍हा ने सूचना और प्रसारण सचिव पद का कार्यभार संभाला

आईएएस श्री अजय मित्‍तल का तबादला होने पर बिहार कैडर के 1980 बैच के भारतीय प्रशासनिक अधिकारी श्री नरेन्‍द्र कुमार सिन्‍हा ने सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय में सचिव का पदभार संभाला लिया।

इससे पहले श्री सिन्‍हा संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार में सचिव थे।

10. केके वेणुगोपाल भारत के लिए नए अटॉर्नी जनरल बने

वरिष्ठ वकील और संविधान कानून विशेषज्ञ केके वेणुगोपाल को भारत का 15 वां एटॉर्नी जनरल नियुक्त किया गया है।

मुकुल रोहतगी के 11 जून को समाप्त हुए कार्यकाल के बाद वेनुगोपाल को इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।

11. विजय केशव गोखले विदेश मंत्रालय में आर्थिक संबंध सचिव नियुक्त

वरिष्ठ राजनयिक विजय केशव गोखले को विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय में आर्थिक संबंध सचिव के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

भारतीय विदेश सेवा (आईएफएस) के 1981 बैच के अधिकारी गोखले, वर्तमान में चीन में भारत के राजदूत हैं।

वह जनवरी 2010 से अक्टूबर 2013 तक मलेशिया में भारत के उच्चायुक्त थे।

12. स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के मोबाइल एप ईवीआईएन ने जीएसएमए एशिया मोबाइल पुरस्कार जीता

एशिया में संयुक्त राष्ट्र सतत विकास लक्ष्यों में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए स्वदेशी तौर पर विकसित मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन एवीआईएन ने प्रतिष्ठित जीएसएमए एशिया मोबाइल पुरस्कार 2017 (एएमओ) जीता है।

इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वैक्सीन इंटेलिजेंस नेटवर्क (ईवीआईएन) स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय और संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) द्वारा विकसित और कार्यान्वित एक ऑनलाइन वास्तविक समय टीका रसद प्रबंधन प्रणाली है।

ईवीआईएन वर्तमान में देश के 12 राज्यों में लागू किया जा रहा है और इसका उद्देश्य सरकार के यूनिवर्सल टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम को सपोर्ट करना है।

1. GST comes into force after 17 years of debate

The Goods and Services Tax (GST), India's biggest tax reform since independence came into force on July 1 after 17 tumultuous years of debate,

The new tax regime was ushered in at a late night event in the historic Central Hall of Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the new levy as "good and simple tax" that marks economic integration of India.

India is 161st country to launch GST.

2. PM Modi inaugurates filling of Aji Dam at Rajkot by Narmada water

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated the filling of Aji Dam near Rajkot under Sauni Yojana.

He launched two water supply projects worth 552 crore rupees at Modasa town in Aravalli district of Gujarat.

These water supply projects will benefit more than 8 lakhs residents of the hilly district.

3. SIERRA ODC building in Coimbatore gets world’s second highest green rating

SIERRA ODC building has been recognised as the world’s second highest ranking Green Building, with a score of 103 out of 110 under LEED certification.

The three-storeyed building has been designed and constructed with an emphasis on increasing the efficiency of resource use  while reducing its impact on human health and the environment.

4. TransStadia officially launched by PM Modi

Indian Prime Narendra Modi formally inaugurated TransStadia in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The multi-purpose sports complex also hosts a 20000 seater state-of-the-art football stadium, the first of its kind in the state.

The facility's formal inauguration comes nearly eight months after it first hosted a global sports event.

The Arena by TransStadia is a Rs. 550 crore project, built on a unique Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, and is hailed as India's first convertible stadium.

5. Prime Minister inaugurates Textiles India 2017

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Textiles India 2017, India’s first ever mega textiles trade fair, being held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Addressing the gathering at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, the PM said that based on Make in India, the textile industry is being infused with the mantras of 'skill,scale,speed' & 'zero-defect, zero-effect'.

The PM had earlier inaugurated the Textiles India exhibition, organized at Helipad Ground, Gandhinagar.

6. Interest rates on small savings, PPF to be lowered by 0.1 per cent

The government has announced to reduce the interest rate on small saving schemes like PPF, Kisan Vikas Patra and Sukanya Samriddhi by 0.1 per cent for the July-September quarter,.

However, the interest on saving deposits has not been changed and it remains at 4 per cent annually.

Investments in the public provident fund (PPF) scheme will fetch lower annual rate of 7.8 per cent.

The Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) investments will yield 7.5 per cent and mature in 115 months.

The one for girl child savings, Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme, will offer 8.3 per cent annually.

The investment on 5-year Senior Citizens Savings Scheme will yield 8.3 per cent. Interest rate on the senior citizens scheme is paid quarterly.

7. SN Subrahmanyan takes charge as L&T CEO & MD

 

SN Subrahmanyan will take charge as the CEO and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro from July 1, which will also mark the end of nearly two-decade-long tenure of A M Naik at the helm.

The appointment was approved by the company board on April 7 and marks a major change in leadership positions at L&T where Naik has served for over 52 years, including as its head for over 17 years.

Subrahmanyan is currently the Deputy Managing Director and President of the company.

8. R K Pachnanda takes charge as Director General, ITBP

R K Pachnanda, IPS takes charge as the new Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Shri Krishna Chaudhary, DG who retired on superannuation, handed over the customary baton to Shri Pachnanda.

Shri Pachnanda is the 29th Chief of the ITBP.

9. Narendra Kumar Sinha assumes charge as Secretary I&B

Shri Narendra Kumar Sinha, IAS (Bihar: 1980) assumed charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on transfer of Shri Ajay Mittal, IAS.

Prior to his appointment, Shri Sinha was Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. 

10. KK Venugopal is the new Attorney General for India

Senior Advocate and Constitution Law Expert KK Venugopal has been appointed the 15th Attorney General for India.

Venugopal succeeds Mukul Rohatgi, who stepped down after his first term ended on June 11.

11. Vijay Keshav Gokhale appointed economic relations secretary in MEA

Senior diplomat Vijay Keshav Gokhale was appointed as the economic relations secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Gokhale, a 1981-batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is at present India's envoy to China.

He was the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia from January 2010 to October 2013.

12. Health Ministry’s mobile app eVIN wins GSMA Asia Mobile Award

Indigenously developed mobile application for digitising vaccine logistics, eVIN, has won the prestigious GSMA Asia Mobile Award 2017 (AMO) for outstanding contribution to the UN’s sustainable development goals in Asia.

The Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) is an online real-time vaccine logistics management system developed and implemented by the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

eVIN is presently being implemented across 12 states in the country and aims to support the government’s Universal Immunization Programme.
