1. स्विस बैंकों में धन: भारत 88 वें नंबर; शीर्ष पर यूके

स्विस बैंकों में अपने नागरिकों द्वारा जमा मनी के मामले में भारत 88 वें स्थान पर आ गया है, जबकि ब्रिटेन शीर्ष पर है।

एसएनबी (स्विस नेशनल बैंक) द्वारा संकलित नवीनतम आंकड़ों के विश्लेषण के अनुसार 2016 के अंत तक स्विट्जरलैंड में बैंकों में आधिकारिक रूप से भारतीयों द्वारा जमा धन स्विस बैंकिंग प्रणाली के सभी विदेशी ग्राहकों द्वारा रखे गये कुल फंड का 0.04 प्रतिशत है।

भारत 2015 में 75 वें स्थान पर और उससे पहले साल 61 वें स्थान पर था, हालांकि 2007 तक स्विस बैंकों में होल्डिंग्स के मामले में यह शीर्ष 50 देशों में शामिल था।

वर्ष 2004 में देश 37 वें स्थान पर था।

2. भारत ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांति निर्माण फंड को 500,000 डॉलर का योगदान  

भारत ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र शांति निर्माण कोष में 5,00,000 डॉलर का योगदान दिया है, यह आशा व्यक्त करते हुए कि राष्ट्रों द्वारा अधिक धन देने से शांति बनाए रखने के लिए विश्व संगठन के प्रयासों को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।

दिसंबर 2005 में इसकी स्थापना के बाद से भारत शांति निर्माण कमीशन का सदस्य रहा है और अब तक शांति निर्माण फंड में कुल 5 मिलियन डॉलर का योगदान दिया है। 

3. नये इजरायली फूल का नाम प्रधान मंत्री मोदी के नाम पर रखा गया

एक नए तेजी से बढ़ने वाले इज़राइली फूल का नाम प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नाम पर रखा गया, जो कि यहूदी राष्ट्र में एक भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री की पहली यात्रा के विशेष सम्‍मान का प्रतीक है।

इजरायल का क्रायसंतुमून फूल को अब “मोदी” फूल कहा जाएगा।

यहूदी देश के लिए एक भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री द्वारा इजराइल की तीन दिवसीय यात्रा पहली ऐसी यात्रा है।

यरूशलेम इज़राइल की राजधानी है और शेकेल इसकी मुद्रा है।

4. भारत-जॉर्डन व्यापार और आर्थिक संयुक्त समिति (टीईजेसी) का 10 वां सत्र

10 वीं भारत-जॉर्डन व्यापार और आर्थिक संयुक्त समिति (टीईजेसी) की बैठक नई दिल्ली में 4 और 5 जुलाई, 2017 को वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) निर्मला सीतारमण व जॉर्डन के उद्योग, व्यापार और आपूर्ति मंत्री एच.ई. यारूब क्यूदा की सह-अध्यक्षता में हुई।

इस अवसर पर दोनों देशों ने द्विपक्षीय व्यापार के विविधीकरण की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया और निवेश क्षेत्र में अधिक सहयोग के लिए अपनी गतिविधियों को मजबूत किया।

दोनों नेताओं ने भारत और जोर्डन के बीच संशोधित आर्थिक और व्यापार सहयोग समझौते पर भी हस्ताक्षर किये।

5. ब्रिक्स के शिक्षा मंत्रियों की पांचवीं बैठक बीजिंग में संपन्न

ब्रिक्स देशों के शिक्षा मंत्रियों की बैठक 5 जुलाई, 2017 को चीन के बीजिंग में हुई।

भारतीय प्रतिनिधिमंडल का नेतृत्व मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री श्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने किया।

ब्रिक्स के सभी पांच देशों के प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने दो दिवसीय बैठक में हिस्सा लिया।

शिक्षा मंत्रियों की बैठक से पूर्व चीन के झेंगझाउ में 01 से 03 जुलाई, 2017 के दौरान ब्रिक्स नेटवर्क विश्वविद्यालयों (ब्रिक्स-एनयू) के कुलपतियों का सम्मेलन, ब्रिक्स एनयू के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय गवर्निंग बोर्ड की बैठक तथा ब्रिक्स एनयू के इंटरनेशनल थिमैटिक ग्रुप (आईटीजे) की बैठक का आयोजन किया गया।

6. भारत, इजराइल $ 40 मिलियन का रिसर्च फंड स्थापित करेंगे

भारत और इजराइल ने प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और उनके इज़राइली समकक्ष बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू के बीच एक बैठक के बाद दोनों देशों के बीच एक सामरिक साझेदारी की घोषणा की और अनुसंधान और विकास के लिए 40 मिलियन डॉलर के संयुक्त फंड सहित जल, कृषि, अंतरिक्ष के क्षेत्र में सात समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) और इजरायल अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी (आईएसए) ने परमाणु क्षेत्र में सहयोग के लिए भी सहमति व्यक्त की।

7. त्रिपक्षीय मालाबार अभ्यास 10 जुलाई से शुरु

विवादित दक्षिण चीन सागर में चीन की बढ़ती सैन्य घनिष्ठता के बीच, बंगाल की खाड़ी में भारतीय, अमेरिकी और जापानी नौसैनिकों वाला मालाबार नौसैनिक अभ्यास 10 जुलाई को शुरू होगा।

तीन देशों की नौसेना के विमान, नौसैनिक जहाजों और परमाणु पनडुब्बियों की एक बड़ी संख्या वार्षिक अभ्यास का हिस्सा होंगे।

1992 के बाद से भारत और अमेरिका नियमित रूप से यह वार्षिक अभ्यास आयोजित करते हैं।

8. इटली टॉर्चर के लिए बिल पारित किया

इतालवी कानूनकारों ने अंत में संसद के कई सालों के बाद राष्ट्रीय कानून के तहत टॉर्चर को एक अपराध घोषित करने के लिए एक बिल पारित कर दिया है।

रोम ने 1984 में अत्याचार के खिलाफ संयुक्त राष्ट्र कन्वेंशन पर हस्ताक्षर किए लेकिन कभी भी इसे राष्ट्रीय कानून में हस्तांतरित नहीं किया था।

9. भारत ब्रिटेन में चौथा सबसे बड़ा निवेशक

आधिकारिक आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, भारत एक स्थान फिसलकर ब्रिटेन में चौथा सबसे बड़ा विदेशी निवेशक बन गया है।

ब्रिटेन में 577 परियोजनाओं में निवेश कर अमेरिका शीर्ष पर है, जबकि चीन (हांगकांग समेत) 160 परियोजनाओं के साथ दूसरे स्थान पर रहा है।

भारत ने पिछले साल ब्रिटेन में 127 नई परियोजनाएं स्थापित कीं।

हालांकि, इसने ब्रिटेन में तीसरे सबसे बड़े निवेशक के रूप में अपनी स्थिति खो दी है, जिसकी जगह फ्रांस ने ली है जिसने पिछले साल 131 परियोजनाओं की स्थापना की थी।

10. 17 साल की बहस के बाद जीएसटी लागू

आजादी के बाद से भारत का सबसे बड़ा कर सुधार, वस्तु और सेवा कर (जीएसटी) 1 जुलाई को 17 साल की बहस के बाद लागू हुआ।

संसद के ऐतिहासिक सेंट्रल हॉल में देर रात नया कर शासन शुरू हुआ।

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इसे "गुड एंड सिंपल टैक्स" कहा जो कि भारत के आर्थिक एकीकरण को दर्शाता है।

जीएसटी लॉन्च करने वाला भारत 161 वां देश है।

11. प्रधानमंत्री ने सौनी योजना के अधीन अजी डैम की भराई का शुभारंभ किया

प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी ने सौनी योजना के अधीन राजकोट के निकट अजी डैम की भराई का शुभारंभ किया।

उन्होंने गुजरात के अरावली जिले के मोडासा शहर में 552 करोड़ रूपये की दो जल आपूर्ति परियोजनाएं शुरू की।

इन जल आपूर्ति परियोजनाओं से पहाड़ी जिले के 8 लाख से अधिक निवासी लाभान्वित होंगे।

12. कोयंबटूर में सियारा ओडीसी इमारत को दुनिया की दूसरी सर्वाधिक ग्रीन रेटिंग  

सियारा ओडीसी इमारत को LEED प्रमाणन के अंतर्गत 110 में से 103 के स्कोर के साथ दुनिया की दूसरी सर्वाधिक रेटिंग वाली ग्रीन बिल्डिंग के रूप में मान्यता दी गई है।

तीन मंजिला इमारत मानव का स्वास्थ्य और पर्यावरण पर इसके प्रभाव को कम करते हुए संसाधन उपयोग की दक्षता बढ़ाने के लिये डिजाइन और निर्माण किया गया है।

13. प्रधान मंत्री मोदी ने आधिकारिक तौर पर ट्रांसस्टेडिया लांच किया

भारतीय प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने औपचारिक रूप से अहमदाबाद, गुजरात में ट्रांसस्टाडिया का उद्घाटन किया।

बहुउद्देश्यीय स्पोर्ट्स कॉम्प्लेक्स में राज्य में अपनी तरह का पहला 20000 सीटर अत्याधुनिक फुटबॉल स्टेडियम है।

इसका औपचारिक उद्घाटन पहली बार एक वैश्विक खेल आयोजन की मेजबानी के लगभग आठ महीने बाद हुआ है।

द एरेना बाय ट्रांसस्टैडिया एक 550 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजना है जिसे एक अद्वितीय सार्वजनिक निजी भागीदारी (पीपीपी) मॉडल पर बनाया गया है और इसे भारत का पहला परिवर्तनीय स्टेडियम कहा गया है।

14. प्रधान मंत्री ने टेक्सटाइल इंडिया 2017 का उद्घाटन किया

प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने गुजरात के गांधीनगर में आयोजित होने वाले भारत के पहले मेगा वस्त्र व्यापार मेला, टेक्सटाइल इंडिया 2017 का उद्घाटन किया।

महात्मा मंदिर, गांधीनगर में सभा को संबोधित करते हुए प्रधान मंत्री ने कहा कि मेक इन इंडिया पर आधारित, कपड़ा उद्योग को 'कौशल, पैमाने, गति' और 'शून्य दोष, शून्य प्रभाव' के मंत्रों से जोड़ा जा रहा है।

प्रधान मंत्री ने पहले हेलीपैड ग्राउंड, गांधीनगर में आयोजित वस्त्र उद्योग प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया।

15. राष्ट्रीय जैवफार्मा मिशन का शुभारंभ

विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्री हर्षवर्धन ने देश में बायोफार्मास्युटिकल विकास को गति देने के उद्देश्य से राष्ट्रीय जैवफार्मा मिशन का शुभारंभ किया है।

कार्यक्रम का नाम इनोवेट इन इंडिया (i3) है जिसमे 250 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का निवेश होगा जिसमे से  विश्व बैंक 125 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का निवेश करेगा।

इससे, इस क्षेत्र में उद्यमशीलता और स्वदेशी विनिर्माण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक सक्षम पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र बनाने की उम्मीद है।

16. झारखंड के मुख्यमंत्री ने भारत के सबसे बड़े ताजे पानी के मछलीघर का उद्घाटन किया

भारत के सबसे बड़े ताजे पानी के मछलीघर रांची मछलीघर का झारखंड के मुख्यमंत्री रघुबर दास द्वारा शहर से 12 किलोमीटर दूर बिरसा मुंडा जूलॉजिकल पार्क में जनता के लिए अनावरण किया गया।

एक्वैरियम में 58 तकनीकी रूप से योजनाबद्ध टैंक स्थापित किए गए हैं ताकि मछलियों की 120 प्रजातियों के लिए परिवेश वातावरण प्रदान किया जा सके।

17. राष्ट्रीय डॉक्टर दिवस: 1 जुलाई

भारत में डॉक्टर दिवस 1991 में भारत सरकार द्वारा स्थापित किया गया था और इसे हर वर्ष 1 जुलाई को राष्ट्रीय डॉक्टर दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है।

यह 1 जुलाई को भारत के सबसे प्रसिद्ध चिकित्सक डॉ बिधान चंद्र रॉय (डा बी सी रॉय) के जन्म और पुण्यतिथि पर मनाया जाता है।

4 फरवरी 1961  को सर्वौत्तम भारतीय नागरिक पुरस्कार भारत रत्न से उन्हें सम्मानित किया गया।

18. झारखंड ने जीएसटी कॉल सेंटर खोला

झारखंड में जीएसटी को लेकर लोगों की पूछताछ के लिए एक जीएसटी कॉल सेंटर खोला गया है, जबकि मुख्यमंत्री रघुबार दास ने राज्य में नई टैक्स प्रणाली की प्रगति की समीक्षा की।

लोगों को इस केंद्र से पंजीकरण, डिजिटल हस्ताक्षर, ओटीपी, विभिन्न वस्तुओं पर टैक्स दरों, चालान और लेखा पर जानकारी मिलेगी।

19. केरल के मुख्यमंत्री ने जी-राइड की शुरूआत की

केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनरायी विजयन ने राज्य में आईटी कंपनियों के उद्योग निकाय प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनियों के समूह (जीटेके) द्वारा एक डिजिटल राइड साझा मंच विशेष रूप से आईटी उद्योग के लिए डिजाइन और तैनात 'जी राइड' शुरू की है।

उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार विकास की पहल और लोगों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों को दूर करने में तेजी लाने के लिए डिजिटल संसाधनों की तैनाती को गति देगी।

20. मुंबई के 'बिक्रिकर भवन' को जीएसटी भवन का नाम दिया गया

महाराष्ट्र सरकार के पूर्ववर्ती बिक्री कर विभाग के मुख्यालय 'बिक्रिकर भवन' का नाम बदलकर नई कर व्यवस्था के नाम पर 'जीएसटी भवन' कर दिया गया है।

वरिष्ठ आईएएस अधिकारी राजीव जलोटा, राज्य जीएसटी आयुक्त ने बताया कि विभाग ने व्यापारियों और व्यापारिक समुदाय, जिनके पास जीएसटी कार्यान्वयन और रूपरेखा से संबन्धित प्रश्न हैं, की सहायता के लिए एक हेल्पलाइन की योजना बनाई है।

21. तेलंगाना में अगले साल से अलग कृषि बजट होगा

अगले साल से तेलंगाना में कृषि के लिए एक अलग बजट होगा।

मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव ने कृषि क्षेत्र के लिए पर्याप्त रूप से धन जुटाने का फैसला किया और एक अलग कृषि बजट पेश करने क फैसला किया है।

राव ने किसानों को संगठित करने के लिए अधिकारियों से विभिन्न स्तरों पर - गांवों से राज्य तक – किसान संघ बनाने को कहा है।

22. प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने पहलवानों के गांव ककरहिया को गोद लिया

उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कहा कि प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी संसद आदर्श ग्राम योजना के त्तहत ककरहिया को गोद लेंगे जो कि अपने पहलवानों और कुश्ती इलाकों के लिए जाना जाता है।

यह वाराणसी के अपने लोकसभा क्षेत्र में प्रधान मंत्री द्वारा अपनाया जाने वाला तीसरा गांव होगा।

पिछले दो वर्षों में मोदी ने अपने पहले और दूसरे गांवों के रूप में जयापुर और नागेपुर को गोद लिया था।

23. गेंडा संरक्षण के लिए असम नया बल तैनात करेगा

असम के एक सींग वाले गैंडों की बेहतर सुरक्षा के लिए असम सरकार एक विशेष स्पेशल राइनो प्रोटेक्शन फोर्स (एसआरपीएफ) बना रही है।

सरकार ने प्रस्तावित बल के लिए भर्ती की प्रक्रिया पहले ही शुरू कर दी है।

हाल ही में, सरकार ने बल में 90 युवकों की भर्ती के लिए विज्ञापन प्रकाशित किए हैं।

24. मध्य प्रदेश ने 12 घंटे में 6.63 करोड़ पौधरोपण कर रिकॉर्ड दर्ज किया

मध्यप्रदेश सरकार ने दावा किया है कि नर्मदा नदी के तट पर 6.63 करोड़ पौधों का नदी संरक्षण प्रयासों के हिस्से के रूप में रोपण किया गया है।

12 घंटे का पौधरोपण ड्राइव राज्य भर में शुरू किया गया था और इसे गिनीज वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड्स में जगह मिल सकती है।

अधिकतम पौधों का कम से कम समय में रोपण करने का वर्तमान रिकॉर्ड 24 घंटे में पांच करोड़ है जो उत्तर प्रदेश द्वारा आयोजित किया गया था।

25. देश के सबसे बड़े ग्लोबल कौशल पार्क की आधारशिला रखी गई

केन्द्रीय कौशल विकास और उद्यमिता राज्य मंत्री राजीव प्रताप रुडी और मध्य प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने भोपाल, मध्य प्रदेश में देश के सबसे बड़े वैश्विक कौशल पार्क की आधारशिला रखी है।

पार्क का निर्माण 645 करोड़ रूपए की लागत से किया जाएगा।

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानक के प्रशिक्षकों द्वारा प्रति वर्ष 1000 छात्रों को प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा।

पार्क 'उद्योग के साथ-उद्योग के लिए' की भावना पर कार्य करेगा।

26. हिमाचल में भारत-थाईलैंड के बीच सैन्य अभ्यास शुरू

भारत और थाईलैंड के बीच एक 14-दिवसीय संयुक्त सैन्य प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम मैत्री 2017 हिमाचल प्रदेश में शुरू हुआ।

रॉयल थाईलैंड आर्मी के साथ भारतीय सेना का संयुक्त अभ्यास चम्बा जिले में बक्कलोह में शुरू हुआ।

इस अभ्यास का पिछला संस्करण 2016 में थाईलैंड के क्रेबी में आयोजित किया गया था।

27. 'कम्बला' बफेलो रेस को राष्ट्रपति की मंजूरी

भैंस दौड़ 'कंम्बला' को वैध बनाने के लिए कर्नाटक विधानसभा द्वारा पारित विधेयक को राष्‍ट्रपति ने अपनी सहमति दे दी है।

सार्वजनिक दबाव के चलते कर्नाटक में परंपरागत भैंस दौड़ 'कम्बला' और बैलगाड़ी दौड़ को वैध बनाने का विधेयक, राज्य विधानसभा द्वारा फरवरी में पारित किया गया था जिसमें सभी दलों ने इस कदम का समर्थन किया था।

28. टेरी दुनिया के जलवायु थिंक टैंकों के बीच दूसरे स्थान पर

टेरी को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय जलवायु प्रशासन केन्द्र (आईसीसीजी), एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर प्रसिद्ध संगठन जिसका कार्य जलवायु नीति और संबंधित शासन मुद्दों के डिजाइन पर केंद्रित है, द्वारा दूसरे स्थान पर रखा गया है।

एथेंस, यूनान में यूरोपीय पर्यावरण और संसाधन अर्थशास्त्री संघ (ईएआरईई) के 23 वें वार्षिक सम्मेलन के दौरान नई दिल्ली स्थित थिंक टैंक को '2016 के टॉप क्लासिक्स थिंक टैंक्स ऑफ द वर्ल्ड ऑफ अब्सोल्यूट ग्लोबल रैंकिंग' श्रेणी के तहत श्रेणीबद्ध किया गया था।

29. दिल्ली हवाई अड्डे पर भारत का सबसे बड़ा एटीसी टॉवर दिसंबर तक चालू होगा

दिल्ली के हवाई अड्डे पर 101.9 मीटर का नया यातायात नियंत्रण टॉवर(एटीसी), जिसे देश का सबसे ऊंचा माना जा रहा है, का दिसंबर तक संचालन शुरू होने की संभावना है।

हवाई अड्डा ऑपरेटर ने टॉवर को भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण (एएआई) को सौंप दिया है, जिसके प्रमुख ने कहा कि ट्रायल रन जल्द ही शुरू हो जाएगा।

दिल्ली में सबसे ऊंची बिल्डिंग्स के बीच टॉवर, हवाईअड्डे का 360 डिग्री दृश्य नियंत्रकों को देगा जो सभी तीन रनवे, एप्रॉन और टैक्सीवे को देख सकेंगे।

30. गुजरात में सड़क निर्माण हेतु एआईआईबी ने 329 मिलियन डालर के ऋण को मंजूरी दी

चीन की अगुवाई वाली एशियाई इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर इंवेस्टमेंट बैंक (एआईआईबी) ने गुजरात में 4,000 गांवों तक सड़कों का निर्माण करने के लिए 329 मिलियन डॉलर के ऋण को मंजूरी दे दी है।

इन गांवों में अपर्याप्त सड़क संपर्क, स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को एक्सेस करने, अपना सामान बाजार में लाने ले जाने और स्कूलों में जाने के लिए बच्चों के लिए परिवहन पहुंचने की क्षमता को सीमित करता है।

यह परियोजना ग्रामीणों के लिए जिला और कृषि-से-बाज़ार सड़कों का निर्माण और उन्नयन करेगी और शैक्षिक संस्थानों, स्कूलों और अस्पतालों तक पहुंच प्रदान करेगी।

31. कर्नाटक ने स्टार्ट-अप के लिए 'ऐलीवेट 100' योजना शुरू की

कर्नाटक सरकार ने नवीन स्टार्ट अप की पहचान और पोषण के लिए 'एलीवेटर 100' योजना शुरू की है।

इसका उद्देश्य राज्य में 100 सबसे नवीन स्टार्ट अप की पहचान करना है ताकि उन्हें सफलता के अगले स्तर तक पहुंचाया जा सके।

ऐलीवेट स्कीम स्टार्ट-अप सेल, कर्नाटक बायोटेक्नोलॉजी एंड इंफॉर्मेशन टेक्नोलॉजी सर्विसेज (KBITS) की दिमागी उपज है।

32. सिंचाई के लिए अपशिष्ट जल का उपयोग करने वाले 5 देशों में शामिल भारत

नए शोध में पाया गया है कि भारत और चार अन्य देश - चीन, पाकिस्तान, मैक्सिको और ईरान - फसल के लिए दुनिया में सबसे ज्यादा अपशिष्ट जल से सिंचित है, जो लाखों जीवन गंभीर स्वास्थ्य जोखिमों में डालता है।

एनवायरनमेंट रिसर्च लैटर्स जर्नल में प्रकाशित अध्ययन के मुताबिक, शहरों से अनुपचारित अपशिष्ट जल से फसलों की सिंचाई वैश्विक उपयोग अनुमान से 50% अधिक है।

शोधकर्ताओं ने भौगोलिक सूचना प्रणाली (जीआईएस) के साथ डेटा का विश्लेषण किया।

33. भारत अत्यधिक रोगजनक एवियन इन्फ्लुएंजा (एच 5 एन 1 और एच 5 एन 8) से मुक्त घोषित

भारत ने 6 जून, 2017 से देश को एवियन इंफ्लुएंजा (एच 5 एन 8 और एच 5 एन 1) से खुद को मुक्त घोषित कर दिया है और ओआईई को अधिसूचित कर दिया है।

भारत में अक्टूबर, 2016 से फरवरी, 2017 के दौरान दिल्ली, ग्वालियर (मध्य प्रदेश), राजपुरा (पंजाब), हिसार (हरियाणा), बेल्लारी (कर्नाटक), अल्लप्पुझा और कोट्टायम (केरल), अहमदाबाद (गुजरात), दमन (दमन), खोरड़ा और अंगुल (ओडिशा) के विभिन्न महामारी केंद्रों में अत्यधिक रोगजनक एवियन इन्फ्लूएंजा के फैलने की रिपोर्ट प्राप्त हुई थी।

ऊपर उल्लेखित एवियन इन्फ्लुएंजा (एचपीएआई) के सभी प्रकोपों को ओआईई के लिए अधिसूचित किया गया और तैयारी, नियंत्रण और एवियन इन्फ्लुएंजा की रोकथाम के बारे में कार्य योजना के अनुसार नियंत्रण और रोकथाम के ऑपरेशन चलाए गए थे।

34. “जिज्ञासा’’–विद्यार्थी–वैज्ञानिक संपर्क कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ

विद्यार्थी–वैज्ञानिक संपर्क कार्यक्रम-‘’जिज्ञासा’’ कार्यक्रम का आज राष्ट्रीय राजधानी में आधिकारिक तौर पर शुभारंभ किया गया।

वैज्ञानिक एवं औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद् (सीएसआईआर) केन्द्रीय विद्यालय संगठन के साथ मिलकर इस कार्यक्रम का कार्यान्वयन करेगी।

इसमें स्कूल के विद्यार्थियों और वैज्ञानिको को आपस में जोड़ने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जा रहा है, ताकि विद्यार्थियों को कक्षा में सिखाई गई बातों को योजनाबद्ध अनुसंधान प्रयोगशाला पर आधारित शिक्षण के साथ समुचित रूप से जोड़ा जा सके।

35. देश के 100 जिलों में गरीब नवाज कौशल विकास केंद्र स्थापित किए जाएंगे

अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) और संसदीय कार्य मंत्री मुख्तार अब्बास नकवी ने कहा कि देश के 100 जिलों में गरीब नवाज कौशल विकास केंद्र स्थापित किए जाएंगे जो अल्पसंख्यक समुदायों के युवाओं के रोजगार उन्मुख कौशल विकास को प्रभावी ढंग से सुनिश्चित करेंगे।

नकवी ने कहा कि अगले छह महीनों में विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में नौकरी उन्मुख कौशल प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने के लिये 100 जिलों में गरीब नवाज कौशल विकास केंद्र स्थापित किये जाएंगे।

36. छोटी बचत, पीपीएफ पर ब्याज दरें 0.1 प्रतिशत कम

सरकार ने जुलाई-सितंबर तिमाही में पीपीएफ, किसान विकास पत्र और सुकन्या समृद्धि जैसी छोटी बचत योजनाओं पर ब्याज दर को 0.1 प्रतिशत कम करने की घोषणा की है।

हालांकि, बचत जमा पर ब्याज दर नहीं बदली गई है और यह सालाना 4 फीसदी बनी हुई है।

सार्वजनिक भविष्य निधि (पीपीएफ) योजना में निवेश पर 7.8% की वार्षिक दर मिलेगी।

किसान विकास पत्र (केवीपी) पर 7.5 प्रतिशत दर मिलेगी और 115 महीनों में परिपक्व होगा।

सुकन्या समृद्धी खाता योजना, सालाना 8.3 प्रतिशत की दर की पेशकश करेगी।

5 साल की वरिष्ठ नागरिक बचत योजना पर निवेश में 8.3 फीसदी दर मिलेगी। वरिष्ठ नागरिक योजना पर ब्याज त्रैमासिक रूप से भुगतान किया जाता है।

37. जीएसटी के तहत सरकार ने उर्वरकों पर कर की दर मौजूदा 12% से 5% की

केन्द्रीय रसायन एवं उर्वरक एवं संसदीय कार्य मंत्री श्री अनंत कुमार ने उर्वरक क्षेत्र के संबंध में 30 जून 2017 को आयोजित जीएसटी परिषद की 18 वीं बैठक के परिणाम पर मीडिया को जानकारी दी।

मंत्री ने कहा कि यह तय किया गया कि उर्वरकों की जीएसटी दर को मौजूदा 12% से कम करके 5% करने का निर्णय लिया गया।

यह निर्णय मुख्य रूप से किसानों के हित में लिया गया है।

38. भेल ने मेट्रो ट्रेनों के कोच निर्माण के लिए जापानी फर्म के साथ समझौता किया

भारत हेवी इलेक्ट्रिकल्स लिमिटेड (बीएचईएल) ने मेट्रो के लिए स्टेनलेस स्टील के डिब्बों और बोगियों के निर्माण के लिए कावासाकी हेवी इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेड (केआईआई) के साथ एक प्रौद्योगिकी सहयोग करार किया है।

समझौते में बीएचईएल में जापानी तकनीक का उपयोग करके डिजाइन, इंजीनियरिंग और विनिर्माण सुविधाओं की स्थापना शामिल है।

यह सभी प्रौद्योगिकी अग्रिम और उन्नयन के लिए भेल को अधिकार देगा।

भेल भारतीय रेलवे के लिए बिजली के साथ-साथ डीजल इंजनों, ईएमयू और प्रणोदन प्रणाली की आपूर्ति करता है।

39. पीएनबी 31 जुलाई से सभी मेस्ट्रो डेबिट कार्ड को ब्लॉक करेगा

पीएनबी द्वारा जारी किए गए सभी मेस्ट्रो कार्ड 31 जुलाई 2017 को सुरक्षा-आधारित कारणों से अवरुद्ध या हॉट सूचीबद्ध किए जाएंगे।

पंजाब नेशनल बैंक (पीएनबी) मेस्ट्रो डेबिट कार्ड धारकों को कार्ड ब्लॉक का सामना करना होगा, यदि वे इस महीने के अंत तक अधिक सुरक्षित ईएमवी चिप आधारित कार्ड के साथ इसे बदलने में विफल रहते हैं।

बैंक प्रतिस्थापन के लिए कुछ भी चार्ज नहीं करेगा और इसे मुफ्त में प्रदान किया जाएगा।

40. फिनो भुगतान बैंक बना

भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के मुताबिक, फिनो पेमेंट्स बैंक ने 30 जून से प्रभावी भुगतान बैंक के रूप में परिचालन शुरू किया है।

फिनो पेटेक लिमिटेड, नवी मुंबई, 11 आवेदकों में से एक था, जिन्हें भुगतान बैंक स्थापित करने के लिए सैद्धांतिक मंजूरी जारी की गई थी।

फिनो के अलावा, अन्य आवेदकों, जिन्होने भुगतान बैंक परिचालन शुरू किया है, उनमें एयरटेल एम कॉमर्स सर्विसेज, डाक विभाग और पेटीएम पेमेंट्स बैंक शामिल हैं।

41. स्वतंत्र माइक्रोफिन ने नकद समाधान 'साथी' की शुरूआत की

मध्यम-आकार की माइक्रोफाइनांस संस्था स्वतंत्र माइक्रोफिन 2019 तक अपने ऋण के वितरण को दोगुना करके 800 करोड़ रुपए करने की योजना बना रही है, हालांकि इस योजना में इसी अवधि के दौरान अधिक राज्यों में अपने परिचालन का विस्तार करने की योजना है।

स्वतंत्र ने ऋण उत्पत्ति प्रणाली, ऋण प्रबंधन प्रणाली और संग्रह जैसे क्षेत्रों में परिचालन के पूरे स्पेक्ट्रम के लिए एक ऐप, एक एंड-टू-एंड कैशलेस समाधान भी शुरू किया है, जिसे साथी नाम दिया गया है।

42. एनएमसीई, भारतीय कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज का विलय

नेशनल मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज (एनएमसीई) इंडियन कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज (आईसीईएक्स) में विलय करेंगे, जिससे देश का तीसरा सबसे बडा जिंस बाजार बनेगा व इस ऑल स्टॉक डील में रिलायंस कैपिटल सबसे बड़ा निवेशक है।

यह कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज में पहली मर्जर डील है और मर्ज की गई इकाई बुलियन, तेल, रबर और अन्य कृषि-वस्तुओं सहित कई तरह के अनुबंधों के साथ दुनिया के पहले हीरा वायदा अनुबंध की पेशकश करेगा।

रिलायंस कैपिटल आईसीईएक्स का सबसे बड़ा निवेशक है और विलय के बाद भी सबसे बड़ा शेयरधारक बनेगा।

स्वीकृत स्वैप अनुपात के अनुसार, आईसीईएक्स के शेयरधारकों की हिस्सेदारी 62.8 फीसदी होगी और एनएमसीई की हिस्सेदारी आईसीईएक्स में 37.2 फीसदी हो जाएगी।

43. राजस्थान में बेहतर सड़क संपर्क के लिए एडीबी का 220 मिलियन डॉलर का अनुदान

राजस्थान के राज्य राजमार्गों पर सड़क संपर्क, परिवहन दक्षता और सुरक्षा में सुधार के लिए एशियाई विकास बैंक (एडीबी) ने भारत के साथ $ 220 मिलियन के ऋण करार पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

इस साल मई में एडीबी बोर्ड द्वारा अनुमोदित, $ 500 मिलियन के राजस्थान राज्य राजमार्ग निवेश कार्यक्रम ऋण की यह पहली किश्त है।

इससे सड़क परिसंपत्ति प्रबंधन, सड़क सुरक्षा और परियोजना प्रबंधन के क्षेत्रों में राज्य सार्वजनिक निर्माण विभाग की क्षमता में भी वृद्धि होगी।

44. आईसीआईसीआई बैंक, फेयरफैक्स संयुक्त उद्यम समाप्त

आईसीआईसीआई बैंक ने कहा है कि आईसीआईसीआई लोम्बार्ड जनरल इंश्योरेंस कंपनी के आईपीओ से पहले इसके और फेयरफैक्स फाइनेंशियल होल्डिंग्स लिमिटेड के बीच संयुक्त उद्यम करार समाप्त कर दिया गया है।

एक समाप्ति समझौता आईपीओ के लिए एक प्रथागत प्रावधान है।

प्रस्तावित आईपीओ के अपूर्ण रहने पर अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से सहमत तारीख से पहले या पूर्व पार्टियों के संरक्षण के लिए समझौता किया जाता है।

45. बैंक यूनियन 19 जुलाई को 'सेव पब्लिक सेक्टर बैंक्स' दिवस के रूप में मनायेगी

यूनाइटेड फोरम ऑफ बैंक यूनियन ने 19 जुलाई, प्रमुख बैंकों के राष्ट्रीयकरण की 48 वीं वर्षगांठ को 'सेव पब्लिक सेक्टर बैंक्स' दिवस के रूप में मनाने का निर्णय लिया है।

सभी सदस्य दिन पर एक स्मारक बिल्ला पहनेंगे, सभी शाखाओं के सामने पोस्टर प्रदर्शित करेंगे, देशभर के सभी केंद्रों पर पत्रक वितरित करेंगे और रैली / प्रदर्शन करेंगे।

आज जो मुख्य चुनौती बैंकों के सामने हैं, वे खतरनाक रूप से बढ़ रहे बुरे ऋण हैं जिन्हें गैर-निष्पादित परिसंपत्तियों के रूप में जाना जाता है।

46. ईपीएफओ ने पीएफ का बकाया संग्रह करने लिये 5 बैंकों के साथ समझौता किया

सेवानिवृत्ति निधि संस्था ईपीएफओ ने पांच बैंकों के साथ पीएफ का बकाया संग्रह करने के लिए समझौता किया है।

     बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा, आईसीआईसीआई बैंक, एचडीएफसी बैंक, एक्सिस बैंक और कोटक महिंद्रा बैंक के साथ टाई अप से ईपीएफओ सालाना करीब 125 करोड़ रुपये बचाएगा और अपने सदस्यों के फायदे के साथ ही इसके निवेश में तेजी आएगी।

     इन बैंकों के साथ बैंक खाता रखने वाले नियोक्ता अब एग्रीगेटर मोड के माध्यम से जाने के बजाय वास्तविक समय के आधार पर ईपीएफओ के खाते में सीधे पीएफ बकाया जमा कर सकते हैं।

47. ओएस-एकीकृत यूपीआई मंच लॉन्च करने के लिए यस बैंक का इंडस ओएस से करार

भारत में ओएस-एकीकृत यूपीआई (यूनिफाइड पेमेंट इंटरफेस) भुगतान मंच लॉन्च करने के लिए इंडस ओएस ने यस बैंक के साथ भागीदारी की है।

इंडस ओएस के साथ उपयोगकर्ता एसएमएस / मैसेजिंग, डायलर इंटरफ़ेस और व्हाट्सएप जैसी तीसरी पार्टी एप्लीकेशंस पर यूपीआई भुगतान प्लेटफॉर्म का उपयोग करने में सक्षम होंगे।

इसका मतलब है कि पी 2 पी लेनदेन के साथ ही अन्य भुगतान एसएमएस या मैसेजिंग के माध्यम से किया जा सकता है। मंच के इस तिमाही में शुरू होने की उम्मीद है।

48. इस वित्तीय वर्ष में भारत की जीडीपी विकास दर 6.9 फीसदी रहने की संभावना

भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था के आने वाले तिमाहियों में सुधरने की उम्मीद है और देश में इस वित्तीय वर्ष में वास्तविक जीडीपी विकास दर 6.9 फीसदी रहने की संभावना है।

बीएमआई रिसर्च की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, नवंबर 2016 में विमुद्रिकरण के बाद से नकारात्मक वृद्धि के बाद भारत के विकास में तेजी आने की संभावना है, हालांकि कमजोर सार्वजनिक बैंक वृद्धि पर रोक लगा सकते है।

49. साउथ इंडियन बैंक का पीएफजी फोरेक्स के साथ करार 

साउथ इंडियन बैंक ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया से भारतीय प्रवासियों की प्रेषण सुविधा के लिए पीएफजी फोरेक्स के साथ करार किया है।

नई सुविधा भारतीय डायस्पोरा तक पहुंचने के लिए बैंक को सक्षम बनाएगा।

इस व्यवस्था के तहत, एनआरआई एसआईबी एक्सप्रेस सुविधा का उपयोग करके लागत प्रभावी और तेजी से प्रेषण सेवाओं का आनंद ले सकते हैं।

प्रवासी भारतीय भारत में प्रेषण के लिए ऑस्ट्रेलिया भर में पीएफजी फोरेक्स आउटलेट्स पर जा सकते हैं।

एसआईबी पहले से ही नेशनल ऑस्ट्रेलिया बैंक और फ्लाई वर्ल्ड मनी एक्सचेंज के साथ भारत में प्रेषण के लिए कॉरेस्पोंडेंट बैंकिंग व्यवस्था कर रही है।

50. 200 मिलियन का आईटी फंड बनाने के लिए एसआरईआई का रूसी डेवलपमेंट बैंक के साथ  करार

एसआरईआई इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर फाइनेंस लिमिटेड ने रूसी सरकार के स्वामित्व वाली व्नेशइकॉनबैंक के साथ 200 मिलियन डॉलर का फंड बनाने के लिए हाथ मिलाया है।

निधि का उद्देश्य सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी (आईटी) के क्षेत्र में नवीनता की सुविधा प्रदान करना है।

कोलकाता में मुख्यालय वाली कंपनी ने भारत सरकार के रूस के साथ सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने के लिए जारी प्रयासों के तहत पिछले महीने विकास बैंक के साथ समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

51. एसएन सुब्रह्मण्यन ने एलएंडटी के सीईओ और एमडी के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

एसएन सुब्रह्मण्यन 1 जुलाई से लार्सन एंड टुब्रो के सीईओ और प्रबंध निदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण करेंगे, जिससे एएम नाइक के लगभग दो दशक के लंबे कार्यकाल की समाप्ति होगी।

7 अप्रैल को कंपनी बोर्ड द्वारा नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी गई थी और एलएंडटी में नेतृत्व पदों में एक बड़ा बदलाव दर्ज किया गया था जहां नाईक ने 52 साल से अधिक समय तक काम किया है, जिसमें 17 साल से अधिक प्रमुख के रूप में शामिल है।

सुब्रमण्यन वर्तमान में कंपनी के उप प्रबंध निदेशक और अध्यक्ष हैं।

52. आर के पचनन्दा ने आईटीबीपी के महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला

आईपीएस आर के पचनन्दा ने इंडो-तिब्बती सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) के नए महानिदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला है।

श्री कृष्णा चौधरी, महानिदेशक, जो सेवानिवृत्त हुए, ने श्री पंचनंदा को कार्यभार सौंप दिया है।

श्री पंचनंदा आईटीबीपी के 29 वें चीफ हैं।

53. नरेन्‍द्र कुमार सिन्‍हा ने सूचना और प्रसारण सचिव पद का कार्यभार संभाला

आईएएस श्री अजय मित्‍तल का तबादला होने पर बिहार कैडर के 1980 बैच के भारतीय प्रशासनिक अधिकारी श्री नरेन्‍द्र कुमार सिन्‍हा ने सूचना और प्रसारण मंत्रालय में सचिव का पदभार संभाला लिया।

इससे पहले श्री सिन्‍हा संस्‍कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार में सचिव थे।

54. केके वेणुगोपाल भारत के लिए नए अटॉर्नी जनरल बने

वरिष्ठ वकील और संविधान कानून विशेषज्ञ केके वेणुगोपाल को भारत का 15 वां एटॉर्नी जनरल नियुक्त किया गया है।

मुकुल रोहतगी के 11 जून को समाप्त हुए कार्यकाल के बाद वेनुगोपाल को इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया है।

55. विजय केशव गोखले विदेश मंत्रालय में आर्थिक संबंध सचिव नियुक्त

वरिष्ठ राजनयिक विजय केशव गोखले को विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय में आर्थिक संबंध सचिव के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

भारतीय विदेश सेवा (आईएफएस) के 1981 बैच के अधिकारी गोखले, वर्तमान में चीन में भारत के राजदूत हैं।

वह जनवरी 2010 से अक्टूबर 2013 तक मलेशिया में भारत के उच्चायुक्त थे।

56. अचल कुमार ज्योति भारत के नए मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त होंगे

नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार ने चुनाव आयुक्त अचल कुमार ज्योति को भारत का मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (सीईसी) नियुक्त किया है।

नसीम जैदी के रिटायर होने के बाद वह 6 जुलाई को सीईसी के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण करेंगे।

19, अप्रैल 2015 को जैदी ने 20वें सीईसी के रूप में पदभार संभाला था।

ज्योति, गुजरात के पूर्व मुख्य सचिव, को 7 मई, 2015 को चुनाव आयुक्त के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था।

57. एमएफआईएन ने अध्यक्ष के रूप में राकेश दुबे को फिर से चुना

माइक्रोफाइनांस इंस्टिट्यूशंस नेटवर्क (एमएफआईएन) ने अध्यक्ष के दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिये एसवी क्रेडिटलाइन प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के प्रमुख राकेश दुबे को फिर से चुन लिया है।

एनबीएफसी-एमएफआई के लिए उद्योग संघ और स्वयं नियामक ने उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में फ्यूजन माइक्रोफाइनांस के मुख्य कार्यकारी देवेश सचदेव को भी चुना है।

58. हिमाचल प्रदेश के डीजीपी संजय कुमार एनडीआरएफ के प्रमुख नियुक्त

हिमाचल प्रदेश के डीजीपी संजय कुमार को राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया बल (एनडीआरएफ) के नए प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने 1985 बैच के भारतीय पुलिस सेवा (आईपीएस) अधिकारी कुमार की शीर्ष एनडीआरएफ पोस्ट में नियुक्ति के आदेश जारी किए।

आरके पचनन्दा को भारत-तिब्बत सीमा पुलिस (आईटीबीपी) के प्रमुख के रूप में नियुक्त करने के चलते एनडीआरएफ के महानिदेशक (डीजी) का पद रिक्त हो गया था।

59. प्रदीप कुमार रावत इंडोनेशिया में भारत के राजदूत नियुक्त

श्री प्रदीप कुमार रावत (आईएफएस: 1990) को इंडोनेशिया गणराज्य में भारत के अगले राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

वर्तमान में वह विदेश मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव हैं।

उनके शीघ्र ही पद ग्रहण करने की उम्मीद है।

60. केवल हांडा यूनियन बैंक के गैर-कार्यकारी चेयरमैन नियुक्त  

केवल हांडा को यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के गैर-कार्यकारी चेयरमैन के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने हांडा की बैंक के गैर-आधिकारिक निदेशक / गैर-कार्यकारी चेयरमैन के रूप में नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी है।

हांडा तीन साल की अवधि के लिए पद धारण करेंगे।

61. स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के मोबाइल एप ईवीआईएन ने जीएसएमए एशिया मोबाइल पुरस्कार जीता

एशिया में संयुक्त राष्ट्र सतत विकास लक्ष्यों में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए स्वदेशी तौर पर विकसित मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन एवीआईएन ने प्रतिष्ठित जीएसएमए एशिया मोबाइल पुरस्कार 2017 (एएमओ) जीता है।

इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वैक्सीन इंटेलिजेंस नेटवर्क (ईवीआईएन) स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय और संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) द्वारा विकसित और कार्यान्वित एक ऑनलाइन वास्तविक समय टीका रसद प्रबंधन प्रणाली है।

ईवीआईएन वर्तमान में देश के 12 राज्यों में लागू किया जा रहा है और इसका उद्देश्य सरकार के यूनिवर्सल टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम को सपोर्ट करना है।

62. फुटबॉल लीजेंड सुब्रत भट्टाचार्य को 'मोहन बागान रत्न' से सम्मानित किया जायेगा

मोहन बागान ने अपने महान पूर्व भारतीय डिफेंडर सुब्रत भट्टाचार्य को अपने सर्वोच्च सम्मान- मोहन बागान रत्न के साथ सम्मानित करने का निर्णय लिया है।

भट्टाचार्य पुरस्कार के 17 वें प्राप्तकर्ता होंगे, जिसे 2001 में स्थापित किया गया था तथा दिवंगत सैलेन मन्ना इसके पहले प्राप्तकर्ता थे।

क्लब के अधिकारियों ने, जिन्होंने 29 जुलाई को अपने स्थापना दिवस पर सम्मानित होने वाले खिलाडियों को चुनाव करने का निर्णय करने के लिए मुलाकात की, ने बलवंत सिंह को मोहन बागान प्लेयर ऑफ द ईयर के रूप में चुना।

1. Money in Swiss banks: India slips to 88th place; UK on top

India has slipped to 88th place in terms of money parked by its citizens with Swiss banks, while the UK remains on the top.

Also, the money officially held by Indians with banks in Switzerland now accounts for a meagre 0.04 per cent of the total funds kept by all foreign clients in the Swiss banking system, as per an analysis of the latest figures compiled by the SNB (Swiss National Bank) as on 2016-end.

India was placed at 75th position in 2015 and at 61st in the year before that, though it used to be among top-50 countries in terms of holdings in Swiss banks till 2007.

The country was ranked highest at 37th place in the year 2004.

2. India contributes $500,000 to UN Peacebuilding Fund 

India has contributed $500,000 to the UN Peacebuilding Fund, expressing hope that more funding by nations will boost efforts by the world body to build and sustain peace.

India has been a member of the Peacebuilding Commission since its inception in December 2005 and has so far contributed $5 million to the Peacebuilding Fund.

3. New Israeli flower named after PM Modi

A new fast-growing Israeli flower was named after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a special gesture to mark the first visit of an Indian premier to the Jewish nation.

Israeli Crysanthumun flower will now be called “MODI”, officials said.

Modi’s three-day visit to Israel is the first by an Indian prime minister to the Jewish nation.

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and Shekel is its currency.

4. 10th Session of the India- Jordan Trade and Economic Joint Committee (TEJC)

The 10TH India-Jordan Trade and Economic Joint Committee (TEJC) Meeting was held in New Delhi on 4th and 5th July, 2017 under the co-chairs of Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Commerce and Industry, Government of India, and H.E Eng. Mr. Yarub Qudah, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

On this occasion, the two countries emphasized the need for diversification of bilateral trade and deepening their engagements for greater cooperation in investment sector.

5. 5th Meeting of BRICS Education Ministers held in Beijing

Meeting of BRICS Ministers of Education was held on 5th July, 2017 at Beijing, China.

The Indian delegation was led by Shri Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Human Resource Development, India.

Delegation of all the five BRICS countries participated in the two-day deliberations.

6. India, Israel to set up $40 mn research fund

India and Israel announced a strategic partnership between the two countries after a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, and signed seven agreements in the fields of water, agriculture, space, including a $40 million joint fund for research and development in innovation.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Israel Space Agency (ISA) also agreed for cooperation in atomic clocks.

7. Trilateral Malabar exercise to kick off on July 10

The Malabar naval exercise involving Indian, American and Japanese navies will kick start on July 10 in the Bay of Bengal, amid China's growing military assertiveness in the disputed South China Sea.

A sizeable number of aircraft, naval ships and nuclear submarines of the navies of the three countries will be part of the annual exercise.

India and the US have regularly conducted the annual exercise since 1992.

8. Italy passes bill to make torture illegal

Italian lawmakers have finally passed a bill making torture a crime under national law, after years of parliamentary back-and-forth.

Rome signed the UN Convention Against Torture in 1984 but had never transferred it into national legislation.

9. India slips to be 4th largest investor into UK

India has slipped by one spot to become the fourth-largest foreign investor into the UK, according to the official figures released.

The US remains on the top, investing in 577 projects in the UK, with China (including Hong Kong) remaining in second place with 160 projects.

India set up 127 new projects in Britain last year.

However, it lost its position as the third largest investor in the UK to France which set up 131 projects last year, according to the data.

10. GST comes into force after 17 years of debate

The Goods and Services Tax (GST), India's biggest tax reform since independence came into force on July 1 after 17 tumultuous years of debate,

The new tax regime was ushered in at a late night event in the historic Central Hall of Parliament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the new levy as "good and simple tax" that marks economic integration of India.

India is 161st country to launch GST.

11. PM Modi inaugurates filling of Aji Dam at Rajkot by Narmada water

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has inaugurated the filling of Aji Dam near Rajkot under Sauni Yojana.

He launched two water supply projects worth 552 crore rupees at Modasa town in Aravalli district of Gujarat.

These water supply projects will benefit more than 8 lakhs residents of the hilly district.

SIERRA ODC building has been recognised as the world’s second highest ranking Green Building, with a score of 103 out of 110 under LEED certification.

The three-storeyed building has been designed and constructed with an emphasis on increasing the efficiency of resource use  while reducing its impact on human health and the environment.

13. TransStadia officially launched by PM Modi

Indian Prime Narendra Modi formally inaugurated TransStadia in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The multi-purpose sports complex also hosts a 20000 seater state-of-the-art football stadium, the first of its kind in the state.

The facility's formal inauguration comes nearly eight months after it first hosted a global sports event.

The Arena by TransStadia is a Rs. 550 crore project, built on a unique Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, and is hailed as India's first convertible stadium.

14. Prime Minister inaugurates Textiles India 2017

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated Textiles India 2017, India’s first ever mega textiles trade fair, being held at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Addressing the gathering at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, the PM said that based on Make in India, the textile industry is being infused with the mantras of 'skill,scale,speed' & 'zero-defect, zero-effect'.

The PM had earlier inaugurated the Textiles India exhibition, organized at Helipad Ground, Gandhinagar.

15. National Biopharma Mission launched

 The National Biopharma Mission aimed at accelerating biopharmaceutical development in the country was launched by Science and Technology Minister Harsh Vardhan.

The programme named Innovate in India (i3) will witness an investment of USD 250 million with USD 125 million as a loan from World Bank.

It aspires to create an enabling ecosystem to promote entrepreneurship and indigenous manufacturing in the sector.

16. Jharkhand CM inaugurates India’s largest fresh water aquarium

India’s largest fresh water aquarium Ranchi aquarium was unveiled by CM Raghubar Das for public at the Birsa Munda Zoological Park about 12 kms from the city.

As many as 58 technically planned tanks have been installed at the aquarium so as to provide an ambient environment to 120 species of fishes.

17. National Doctors Day: 1 July

Doctor’s Day in India was established by the Government of India in 1991 to be recognized and celebrated every year on 1st of July as National Doctors day.

18. Jharkhand opens GST call centre

A GST call centre has been opened in Jharkhand to help people with queries, while Chief Minister Raghubar Das reviewed the progress of the new tax system in the state, a day after it was rolled out.

The people would get information on registration, digital signature, OTP, tax rates on different goods, invoice and accounting from that centre.

19. Kerala CM launches G-Ride

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched 'G-Ride', a digital ride sharing platform specially designed and deployed for the IT industry, by the Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the industry body of IT companies in the state.

He said that the state government would accelerate the deployment of digital resources in development initiatives and also in addressing challenges faced by people.

20. Mumbai's 'Vikrikar Bhavan' renamed as GST Bhavan

'Vikrikar Bhavan' the headquarters of Maharashtra government's erstwhile Sales Tax department, was renamed as 'GST Bhavan’ as the new tax regime rolled out.

Senior IAS officer Rajiv Jalota, State GST commissioner, informed that the department has planned a helpline to assist traders and business community who have queries about GST implementation and modalities.

21. Telangana to Have Separate Agriculture Budget from Next Year

Telangana would have a separate budget for agriculture from the next year.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to substantially enhance funds for the agriculture sector and present a separate agriculture budget.

Rao also asked the officials to form farmers' associations at various levels -- from villages to the state -- to organise the cultivators.

22. PM Narendra Modi adopts wrestlers’ Village Kakrahia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will adopt Kakrahia, a village known for its wrestlers and wrestling arenas, under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said.

This will be the third village to be adopted by the Prime Minister in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi.

In the previous two years, Modi adopted Jayapur and Nagepur, as his first and second villages.

23. Assam to raise new force for rhino protection

The Assam government is going to raise a new Special Rhino Protection Force (SRPF) for better protection of the one-horned rhinos in Assam.

The government has already started the process of recruitment for the proposed force.

Recently, the government has published advertisements for recruitment of 90 youths in the force.

24. Madhya Pradesh plants record 6.63 crore saplings in 12 hours

The Madhya Pradesh government has claimed a record 6.63 crore saplings were planted on the banks of river Narmada as part of its river conservation efforts.

The 12-hour plantation drive was undertaken across the state and may find a place in the Guinness World Records.

The current record of planting maximum saplings in least time is five crore in 24 hours which is held by Uttar Pradesh.

25. Foundation stone of country’s biggest Global Skill Park laid

Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajeev Pratap Rudi and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan have laid the foundation stone of the country’s biggest Global Skill Park in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

The park will be constructed at a cost of 645 crore rupees.

Training will be imparted to 1000 students every year by trainers of international standard.

The park will function on the spirit of ‘With Industry -For Industry’.

26. India-Thailand military exercise begins in Himachal

A 14-day joint military training exercise Maitree 2017 between India and Thailand started in Himachal Pradesh.

The joint exercise of the Indian Army with the Royal Thailand Army commenced at Bakloh in Chamba district.

The previous edition of the exercise was held at Krabi in Thailand in 2016.

27. 'Kambala' Buffalo Race Gets President's Assent

The President gave his assent to the bill passed by Karnataka Assembly to legalise traditional buffalo race 'Kambala'.

Bowing to public pressure, a bill to legalise traditional buffalo race 'Kambala' and bullock cart races in Karnataka was passed by the state Assembly in February with all parties backing the move.

28. TERI ranked second among world's climate think tanks

TERI was ranked number two by the International Center for Climate Governance (ICCG), an internationally-renowned body whose activities focus on the design of climate policy and related governance issues.

The New Delhi-based think tank was ranked under the category '2016 Top Climate Think Tanks in the Rest of the World--Absolute Global Rankings' during ICCG's 23rd annual conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) in Athens in Greece.

29. India’s tallest ATC tower to be operational at Delhi airport by December

The new 101.9-metre air traffic control (ATC) tower at the Delhi airport, touted to be the country’s tallest, is likely to start operations by December.

The airport operator has handed over the tower to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), whose chief said trial runs will begin soon.

The tower, among the tallest structures in Delhi, will give a 360-degree view of the airport to the controllers who will be able to see all the three runways, aprons and taxiways.

30. AIIB approves USD 329 mn loan to build roads in Gujarat

China-led Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved USD 329 million loan to build access roads to 4,000 villages in Gujarat.

Insufficient road connectivity into these villages limits their ability to access healthcare services, bring their goods to market and access transportation for their children to attend schools, it said.

This project will construct and upgrade district and farm-to-market roads for the villagers and provide approaches to educational institutions, schools and hospitals.

31. Karnataka launches ‘Elevate 100’ scheme for start-ups

The Karnataka government has launched the ‘Elevate 100’ scheme to identify and nurture innovative start-ups.

The aim is to identify 100 most innovative start-ups in the state to elevate them to the next level of success.

The Elevate scheme is the brainchild of the start-up cell, Karnataka Biotechnology and Information Technology Services (KBITS).

32. India among 5 countries using wastewater for irrigation

  

India and four other countries – China, Pakistan, Mexico and Iran — account for the most cropland in the world irrigated by dirty wastewater, putting millions of lives at serious health risks, new research has found.

The global use of untreated wastewater from cities to irrigate crops downstream is 50 per cent more widespread than previously thought, according to the study published in the journal Environmental Research Letters.

Researchers analysed data with geographic information systems (GIS).

33. India declares itself free from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (H5N1 and H5N8)

India has declared itself free from Avian Influenza (H5N8 and H5N1) from 6th June, 2017 and notified the same to OIE.

India had reported outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian influenza at various epicenters in Delhi, Gwalior (MP), Rajpura (Punjab), Hissar (Haryana), Bellary (Karnataka), Allappuzha and Kottayam (Kerala), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Daman (Daman) and Khordha and Angul (Odisha during October, 2016 to February, 2017.

All the outbreaks of Avian Influenza (HPAI) mentioned above were notified to OIE and the control and containment operations were carried out as per the Action Plan on Preparedness, Control and Containment of Avian Influenza. 

34. “JIGYASA” - Student-Scientist connect programme launched

Jigyasa, a student- scientist connect programme was officially launched in the national capital.

Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has joined hands with Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) to implement this programme.

The focus is on connecting school students and scientists so as to extend student’s classroom learning with that of a very well planned research laboratory based learning.

35. Garib Nawaz Skill Development Centres to be established in 100 districts of the country

The Minister of State for Minority Affairs (Independent Charge) & Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that Garib Nawaz Skill Development Centres will be established in 100 districts of the country which will effectively ensure employment oriented skill development of youth belonging to Minority communities.

Naqvi said that in next six months, Garib Nawaz Skill Development Centres, providing job oriented skill training in various fields, will be established in 100 districts.

36. Interest rates on small savings, PPF to be lowered by 0.1 per cent

The government has announced to reduce the interest rate on small saving schemes like PPF, Kisan Vikas Patra and Sukanya Samriddhi by 0.1 per cent for the July-September quarter,.

However, the interest on saving deposits has not been changed and it remains at 4 per cent annually.

Investments in the public provident fund (PPF) scheme will fetch lower annual rate of 7.8 per cent.

The Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) investments will yield 7.5 per cent and mature in 115 months.

The one for girl child savings, Sukanya Samriddhi Account Scheme, will offer 8.3 per cent annually.

The investment on 5-year Senior Citizens Savings Scheme will yield 8.3 per cent. Interest rate on the senior citizens scheme is paid quarterly.

37. Govt reduces Tax Rate on Fertilizers from existing 12% to 5 % under GST

Union Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Ananthkumar briefed the media on the outcome of the 18th meeting of the GST Council, held on 30th June 2017, regarding Fertilizer sector.

The Minister said that it was decided to reduce the GST rate of fertilizers from the existing 12% to 5%.

This decision was primarily taken in the interests of the farmers.

38. BHEL signs pact with Japanese firm for manufacturing coaches for metro trains 

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has entered into a technology collaboration agreement with Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd (KHI) of Japan for manufacturing of stainless steel coaches and bogies for metros.

The agreement covers establishing design, engineering and manufacturing facilities at BHEL using Japanese technology.

It will also entitle BHEL for all technology advances and upgrades.

BHEL supplies electric as well as diesel locomotives, EMUs, and propulsion systems for Indian Railways.

39. PNB to block all Maestro debit cards from July 31

All Maestro cards issued by PNB will be blocked or hot listed on July 31, 2017 for security-based reasons.

Punjab National Bank (PNB) Maestro debit cards holders will face a card blockage if they fail to replace it with a more secure EMV chip based card by the end of this month.

The bank will not charge anything for the replacement and it will be provided free of cost.

40. FINO becomes payments bank

FINO Payments Bank has commenced operations as a payments bank with effect from June 30, according to the Reserve Bank of India.

FINO PayTech Ltd, Navi Mumbai, was one of the 11 applicants which were issued in-principle approval for setting up a payments bank.

Besides FINO, the other applicants which have launched payment bank operations are Airtel M Commerce Services, Department of Posts and Paytm Payments Bank.

41. Svatantra Microfin launches cashless solution ‘Saathi’

Mid-sized microfinance institution Svatantra Microfin is looking at doubling its loan disbursals to Rs. 800 crore by 2019, even as it plans to expand its operations to more States within the same period.

Svatantra has also launched an app, an end-to-end cashless solution called Saathi, for an entire spectrum of operations in areas such as loan originating system, loan management system and collections.

42. NMCE, Indian Commodity Exchange to merge in 1st comex merger

National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE) will merge with Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX), where Reliance Capital is the largest investor, in an all-stock deal to create the country's third-largest commodities bourse.

This is the first merger deal in the commodity exchange space and the merged entity will offer the world's first diamond futures contract along with a wide range of contracts, including bullion, oil, rubber and other agri-commodities.

Reliance Capital is the largest investor in ICEX and will continue to be the largest shareholder post merger, along with others.

As per the agreed swap ratio, ICEX shareholders will hold 62.8 per cent stake and NMCE's will hold 37.2 per cent in ICEX, post merger.

43. ADB grants $220 mn for better road connectivity in Rajasthan

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $220 million loan agreement with India for improving road connectivity, transport efficiency and safety on state highways of Rajasthan.

The loan is the first tranche of the $500 million Rajasthan State Highways Investment Programme, approved by the ADB Board in May this year.

It will also enhance the capacity of the state public works department in the areas of road asset management, road safety and project management, it added.

44. ICICI Bank, Fairfax join venture terminated

ICICI Bank on Tuesday said the joint venture agreement between it and Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd has been terminated ahead of the IPO of ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company.

A Termination Agreement is a customary provision for an IPO.

The agreement is executed for the protection of the parties in the event of non-completion of the proposed IPO on or before a mutually agreed date.

The United Forum of Bank Unions has decided to observe July 19, the 48th anniversary of nationalisation of major banks, as 'Save public sector banks' day.

All members will wear a commemorative badge on the day, display posters in front of all branches, distribute leaflets and hold rallies/demonstrations at all centres across the country.

The main challenge that banks face today is the alarmingly increasing bad loans euphemistically known as non-performing assets.

46. EPFO ties up with 5 banks to collect PF dues

Retirement fund body EPFO has inked pacts with five banks for collections of PF dues.

The tie-ups with Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bankand Kotak Mahindra Bank will help EPFO save around Rs 125 crore a year and expedite its investments as well as payment of benefits to its members.

Employers having bank account with these banks can now deposit PF dues directly in EPFO's account using internet banking in real time basis instead of going through the aggregator mode.

47. Indus OS partners with YES Bank to launch OS-integrated UPI platform

Indus OS has partnered with YES Bank to launch OS-integrated UPI (Unified Payment Interface) payment platform in India.

Users with Indus OS will be able to use this UPI payment platform on SMS/ messaging, dialler interface, and on third party apps like WhatsApp.

This means P2P transactions as well as utility payments can be made via SMS or messaging. The platform is expected to launch in this quarter.

48. India likely to clock GDP growth of 6.9 pc this fiscal

Indian economy is expected to recover in the coming quarters and the country is expected to clock a real GDP growth of 6.9 per cent in this financial year, says a report.

According to a report by BMI Research, India's growth is expected to pick up following the negative ramifications from the demonetisation drive in November 2016, but weak public banks will likely cap the recovery.

49. South Indian Bank ties up with PFG Forex

South Indian Bank has tied up with PFG Forex for remittance facility for the benefit of Indian expatriates from Australia.

The new facility will leverage the bank to reach the Indian diaspora.

Under this arrangement, NRIs can enjoy cost-effective and fast remittance services using SIB's Express facility.

NRIs can visit the PFG Forex outlets across Australia for remittances to India.

SIB is already having correspondent banking arrangement with National Australia Bank and Fly World Money Exchange for remittances to India.

50. Srei Teams Up With Russian Development Bank To Create $200 Mn IT Fund

Srei Infrastructure Finance Limited has joined hands with Russian Government-owned Vnesheconombank to create a $200 Mn fund.

The fund aims to facilitate innovation in the field of information technology (IT).

Headquartered at Kolkata, the family-run company signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the development bank last month, as part of the Indian government’s continued efforts to foster cooperation with Russia.

51. SN Subrahmanyan takes charge as L&T CEO & MD

SN Subrahmanyan will take charge as the CEO and Managing Director of Larsen & Toubro from July 1, which will also mark the end of nearly two-decade-long tenure of A M Naik at the helm.

The appointment was approved by the company board on April 7 and marks a major change in leadership positions at L&T where Naik has served for over 52 years, including as its head for over 17 years.

Subrahmanyan is currently the Deputy Managing Director and President of the company.

52. R K Pachnanda takes charge as Director General, ITBP

R K Pachnanda, IPS takes charge as the new Director General of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

Shri Krishna Chaudhary, DG who retired on superannuation, handed over the customary baton to Shri Pachnanda.

Shri Pachnanda is the 29th Chief of the ITBP.

53. Narendra Kumar Sinha assumes charge as Secretary I&B

Shri Narendra Kumar Sinha, IAS (Bihar: 1980) assumed charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on transfer of Shri Ajay Mittal, IAS.

Prior to his appointment, Shri Sinha was Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India. 

54. KK Venugopal is the new Attorney General for India

Senior Advocate and Constitution Law Expert KK Venugopal has been appointed the 15th Attorney General for India.

Venugopal succeeds Mukul Rohatgi, who stepped down after his first term ended on June 11.

55. Vijay Keshav Gokhale appointed economic relations secretary in MEA

Senior diplomat Vijay Keshav Gokhale was appointed as the economic relations secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Gokhale, a 1981-batch officer of Indian Foreign Service (IFS), is at present India's envoy to China.

He was the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia from January 2010 to October 2013.

56. Achal Kumar Jyoti to be India's new Chief Election Commissioner

Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Jyoti has been appointed the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India by the Narendra Modi government.

He will take charge as the CEC on July 6 after Nasim Zaidi retires.

Zaidi had taken over as the 20th CEC on April 19, 2015.

Jyoti, former Chief Secretary of Gujarat, was appointed as the Election Commissioner on May 7, 2015.

57. MFIN re-elects Rakesh Dubey as its president

Microfinance Institutions Network (MFIN) has re-elected Rakesh Dubey, chief of SV Creditline Private Ltd, as its president for the second term.

The industry association and self-regulator for the NBFC-MFIs has also elected Devesh Sachdev, chief executive of Fusion Microfinance as vice president.

58. Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kumar appointed new NDRF chief

Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as the new chief of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).

The Union home ministry issued an order appointing Kumar, a 1985-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, to the top NDRF post.

The post of NDRF Director General (DG) fell vacant after incumbent RK Pachnanda was appointed as the chief of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).

59. Pradeep Kumar Rawat appointed Ambassador of India to Indonesia

Shri Pradeep Kumar Rawat (IFS: 1990) has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Indonesia.

Currently he is Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.

He is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

60. Kewal Handa appointed non-executive chairman of Union Bank

Kewal Handa has been appointed as non-executive chairman of Union Bank of India.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Handa’s appointment as non-official director/non-executive chairman of the bank.

Handa will hold the post for a period of three years.

61. Health Ministry’s mobile app eVIN wins GSMA Asia Mobile Award

Indigenously developed mobile application for digitising vaccine logistics, eVIN, has won the prestigious GSMA Asia Mobile Award 2017 (AMO) for outstanding contribution to the UN’s sustainable development goals in Asia.

The Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network (eVIN) is an online real-time vaccine logistics management system developed and implemented by the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

eVIN is presently being implemented across 12 states in the country and aims to support the government’s Universal Immunization Programme.

62. Indian football legend Subrata Bhattacharya honoured with 'Mohun Bagan Ratna'

Mohun Bagan has decided to honour its legendary former India defender Subrata Bhattacharya with its highest honour — the Mohun Bagan Ratna.

Bhattacharya will be the 17th recipient of the award, which was instituted in 2001, with late Sailen Manna being the first recipient.

The club's executives, who met to decide the awardees to be honoured on its foundation day on 29 July, also chose Balwant Singh as the Mohun Bagan Player of the Year.

Debabrata Das was adjudged Best Cricketer, while they also chose Indian women's cricket team pacer Jhulan Goswami, middle-distance runner Lili Das and Mount Everest conqueror Shaikh Sahabuddin as special awardees.

Writer Preeti Shenoy was honoured with the Indian of the Year award at a function in New Delhi. 

Shenoy, who is one of India's top five highest selling women authors, was awarded by Brands Academy.

64. Indian police officer recognised by prestigious award in US

A senior Indian police officer has been given a prestigious award in the US in recognition of his tireless efforts in fight against human trafficking.

Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat has been recognised with the prestigious Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Hero award.      

Bhagwat, who currently serves as Commissioner of Police of Rachakonda in Telangana, was presented the award by the US First Lady Melania Trump.

65. Pune NGO wins UN prize for sustainable farming model

Swayam Shikshan Prayog, a Pune based NGO, has been awarded the United Nations Development Programme’s Equator Prize for devising an ecologically sustainable agriculture model to combat the adverse impacts of drought.

It is the only Indian organisation to win the award, making the cut from more than 800 nominations across 120 countries.

The prize-winning initiative is a women-led ‘climate resilient agro-ecological farming model’ for restoring land and soil.

Jehan Daruvala of Sahara Force India Academy created history by becoming the first Indian to win in the FIA F3 European Championship.

Jehan's victory in race 3 comes 18 years after Narain Karthikeyan won in the British F3 Championship.

FIA Formula 3 is the toughest junior racing category in the world.

In doubles, Advani- & Rawat beat Bilal & Masih 70-55.

69. Veteran Marathi actor-writer Madhukar Toradmal passes away

Veteran Marathi actor-writer Madhukar Toradmal died. Toradmal (84) was suffering from kidney failure.

Toradmal was a writer, director and actor.

He had acted in Marathi as well as Hindi films including “Simhasan,” “Aapli Manasa”, “Atmavishwas” and “Raakh”.

70. President receives first copy of book “PRESIDENT Pranab Mukherjee – A Statesman”

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee received the first copy of a book “President Pranab Mukherjee – A Statesman” from Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi who formally released it at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The book “President Pranab Mukherjee – A Statesman” has been published by The Statesman, one of India’s oldest English-language newspapers.
