1. 2030 तक यूएन स्वास्थ्य लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने में भारत 128वें स्थान पर

भारत 2030 तक स्वास्थ्य से जुड़े संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सतत विकास लक्ष्य (एसडीजी) को हासिल करने की दिशा में 128 वें स्थान पर रहा है। द लैंसेट की ओर से प्रकाशित वैश्विक स्वास्थ्य समीक्षा में भारत को वायु प्रदूषण, स्वच्छता, हैपेटाइटिस बी और अन्य मापकों पर भारत बहुत कम अंक है।

• इस प्रतिष्ठित जर्नल में प्रकाशित 'द ग्लोबल बर्डन ऑफ डिजीज' नामक अध्ययन में इन लक्ष्यों तक पहुंचने को लेकर विश्व की स्थिति से जुड़ नए आकलन दिये गए हैं।
• सिंगापुर, आइसलैंड और स्वीडन इस सूची में सबसे अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने वाले तीन देशों हैं।
• सोमालिया, मध्य अफ्रीकी गणराज्य और अफगानिस्तान सबसे निचले स्थान पर हैं।

2. जापान ने भारतीय योग विशेषज्ञों पर डाक टिकट जारी किए

जापान में भारतीय योग के प्रसार में बिशनु चरण घोष और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों द्वारा अदा की गई भूमिका को स्वीकार करते हुए जापानी डाक विभाग ने बंगाल के चार प्रसिद्ध योग विशेषज्ञों पर डाक टिकट जारी किए हैं।

• बिष्णु चरण घोष, उनके पुत्र विश्वनाथ घोष, बेटी करुणा घोष और करुणा के ससुर असुतोश घोष पर टिकट, जो हाल ही में जापान में जारी किए गए थे, आधिकारिक तौर पर कोलकाता में जापानी कॉन्सल जनरल, मसायुकी टागा द्वारा प्रदर्शित किये गये।

3. बंधन तोड़: बिहार में बाल विवाह से लड़ने के लिए एक एंड्रॉइड ऐप

एक अनूठी पहल में, जेंडर एलायंस बिहार, संयुक्त राष्ट्र जनसंख्या निधि द्वारा समर्थित 270 से अधिक नागरिक समाज संगठनों के एक समूह ने राज्य में बाल विवाह की व्यापक सामाजिक बुराई से लड़ने के लिए एक मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन लांच किया है।

• उपमुख्यमंत्री सुशील कुमार मोदी द्वारा शुरू ‘बंधन तोड़’ ऐप न केवल बाल विवाह का विरोध करने के बारे में जागरुकता पैदा करने का प्रयास करेगी बल्कि एसओएस बटन के जरिये किशोरावस्था में लड़कियों को बाल बिवाह ना करने के लिये प्रेरित करेगा।
• जेंडर एलायंस संयुक्त राष्ट्र जनसंख्या कोष (यूएनएफपीए) की एक पहल है और लैंगिक समानता की वकालत करने के लिए एक समान मंच पर नागरिक समाज, कार्यकर्ता, शिक्षाविदों, शोधकर्ताओं, मीडिया और अन्य लोगों को एक साथ लाने के लिए शुरू किया गया था।
• बंधन तोड़ बाल विवाह और दहेज को समाप्त करने के लिए राज्य सरकार के प्रयासों का समर्थन करने के लिए जेंडर एलायंस की रणनीति का हिस्सा है।

4. ‘मिशन मोड टू एड्रेस अंडर न्यूट्रिशन’ पर नेशनल कांफ्रेंस'

देश में अल्प-पोषण को संबोधित करने के लिए ‘मिशन मोड टू एड्रेस अंडर न्यूट्रिशन’ पर महिला और बाल विकास मंत्रालय, नई दिल्ली में पहली बार राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित करेगा।

• डब्लूसीडी सचिव राकेश श्रीवास्तव ने कहा कि यह सम्मेलन महिला और बाल विकास मंत्रालय द्वारा पेयजल और स्वच्छता मंत्रालय और स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय के सहयोग से "कुपोषण मुक्त भारत-2022" के लक्ष्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए आयोजित किया जा रहा है।

5. जिला परिवार कल्याण समितियों की स्थापना करने वाला त्रिपुरा पहला राज्य

महिलाओं द्वारा पति, ससुराल और पति के रिश्तेदारों के खिलाफ झूठी और पक्षपातपूर्ण शिकायतों के मुद्दे से निपटने के लिए परिवार कल्याण जिला समितियों की स्थापना करने वाला त्रिपुरा देश में पहला राज्य बन गया है, ।

• मुख्यमंत्री श्री माणिक सरकार और अन्य की उपस्थिति में राज्य के राज्यपाल तथागत रॉय ने त्रिपुरा उच्च न्यायालय में एक समारोह में औपचारिक रूप से त्रिपुरा के सभी आठ जिलों में परिवार कल्याण समितियां शुरू कीं।
• त्रिपुरा हाईकोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश टी वैफीई ने कहा कि त्रिपुरा ऐसी समितियों का गठन करने वाला पहला राज्य है।

6. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग महोत्सव कश्मीर में शुरू

जम्मू और कश्मीर के गवर्नर एन एन वोहरा ने दूसरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग महोत्सव और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग स्पोर्ट्स चैम्पियनशिप 2017 का उद्घाटन किया जिसमें  दुनिया भर के करीब 300 लोग भाग ले रहे हैं।

• यह महोत्सव कश्मीर की योग सोसाइटी द्वारा शेर-ए-कश्मीर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन केंद्र में आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
• महोत्सव में भारत, वियतनाम, ताइवान, कनाडा, बुल्गारिया, अमेरिका और नेपाल के विभिन्न हिस्सों से लगभग 300 प्रतिभागी भाग ले रहे हैं।

7. अक्षय कुमार उत्तराखंड में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त

उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत ने राज्य में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर के रूप में बॉलीवुड अभिनेता अक्षय कुमार की नियुक्ति की घोषणा की।

• अक्षय को पिछले महीने उत्तर प्रदेश में स्वच्छता अभियान के लिए ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त किया गया था और उनकी फिल्म "टॉयलेट: एक प्रेम कथा" को राज्य में कर मुक्त किया गया था।
• यह फिल्म शौचालयों के निर्माण और देश में खुले में शौच को समाप्त करने के महत्व पर जोर देती है।

8. वाई सी मोदी एनआईए प्रमुख नियुक्त

वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी वाई सी मोदी, जो 2002 के गुजरात दंगों जांच के लिये सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा नियुक्त विशेष जांच टीम का हिस्सा थे, को राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (एनआईए) का अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किया गया।

• जांच एजेंसी को आतंकवाद और आतंक-वित्तपोषण संबंधी मामलों की जांच करने का काम सौंपा गया है।
• एक अन्य वरिष्ठ आईपीएस अधिकारी रजनीकांत मिश्रा को सशस्त्र सीमा बल (एसएसबी) का महानिदेशक नियुक्त किया गया है।

9. अर्थशास्त्री मर्सिडीज अरोज़ ने पेरू के नए प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में शपथ ली

पेरू के दूसरे उपराष्ट्रपति, एक अर्थशास्त्री मर्सिडीज अराओज को कैबिनेट के 13 सदस्यों द्वारा निर्मित मंत्रिपरिषद के नए प्रमुख के रूप में शपथ दिलाई गई जिसे प्रधान मंत्री के रूप में जाना जाता है।

• 56 वर्षीय अराओज ने राष्ट्रपति पेड्रो पाब्लो क्यूज़िन्स्की के समक्ष लीमा में सरकारी महल में आयोजित एक समारोह में पदभार ग्रहण किया था, जहां पांच अन्य नए मंत्रियों को शपथ दिलाई गई और राष्ट्रपति द्वारा इस तरह की 13 नियुक्तियों की पुष्टि हुई।

एक नाइजीरियाई वकील जिसने बोको हराम द्वारा अपहृत 100 से अधिक स्कूली बच्चों को रिहा करने में मदद की थी, को संयुक्त राष्ट्र के शीर्ष पुरस्कारों में से एक से सम्मानित किया गया है।

• यूएनएचसीआर ने कहा कि जनाह मुस्तफा को उनकी "महत्त्वपूर्ण मध्यस्थता" भूमिका व लंबे समय से चल रहे संघर्ष से प्रभावित बच्चों की सहायता के लिए वार्षिक नानसेन पुरस्कार दिया गया।
• मुस्तफा ने 10 साल पहले फ्यूचर प्रोवाइस इस्लामिक फाउंडेशन स्कूल की स्थापना की थी, जो संघर्षग्रस्त और गरीब पूर्वोत्तर नाइजीरिया में बच्चों के लिए एक जीवन रेखा साबित हुई है।

रिज अहमद अभिनय श्रेणी में एमी पुरस्कार जीतने वाली एशियाई मूल के पहले व्यक्ति बन गए हैं। वह पाकिस्तानी मूल के एक ब्रिटिश अभिनेता हैं।

• ब्रिटिश-भारतीय आर्ची पंजाबी और ईरानी-अमेरिकी अभिनेत्री शोहरिह अगदाश्लू एशियाई मूल के दो कलाकार हैं जो पहले ऐमी अवार्ड जीते हैं।
• रिज ने "द नाईट ऑफ़" में अपनी भूमिका के लिए सीमित सीरीज़ या मूवी श्रेणी में सर्वश्रेष्ठ लीड एक्टर का 69 वां एमी पुरस्कार जीता।

12. भारत में नेफ्रोलॉजी के जनक 85 वर्षीय डॉ किरपाल चुग का निधन

भारत में नेफ्रोलॉजी के जनक के नाम से पहचाने जाने वाले डॉ किरपाल सिंह चुग का निधन हो गया है। वह 85 साल के थे।

• तरण तारण में पट्टी के रहने वाले सिंह को 2000 में चौथे उच्चतम नागरिक पुरस्कार पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया।
• इंटरनेशनल सोसायटी ऑफ़ नेफ्रोलॉजी (आईएसएन) द्वारा बायवेटर्स अवॉर्ड प्राप्त करने वाले वह पहले भारतीय थे।
• नेफ्रोलॉजी सामान्य गुर्दा कार्य, गुर्दे की सुरक्षा और और गुर्दे की समस्याओं के उपचार का अध्ययन है।

1. India Ranks 128th In Meeting UN's 2030 Health Target

India ranks 128th in terms of meeting the UN's health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, with low scores on air pollution, sanitation, hepatitis B and child wasting, according to a global health review published in The Lancet.

• The Global Burden of Disease study provides new estimates on where the world currently stands in terms of meeting health goals.
• Singapore, Iceland and Sweden were the highest performing countries in terms of the overall health- related SDGs.
• Somalia, Central African Republic, and Afghanistan ranked lowest.

2. Japan releases postage stamps on Indian yoga experts

Acknowledging the role played by yoga legend Bishnu Charan Ghosh and his family members in spreading Indian postural yoga in Japan, the Japanese postal department has released postage stamps on four of Bengal’s famous exponents of the ancient Indian practice.

• The stamps on Bishnu Charan Ghosh, his son Biswanath Ghosh, daughter Karuna Ghosh and Karuna’s father in law Asutosh Ghosh, that were released recently in Japan, were official showcased here by the Japanese Consul General in Kolkata, Masayuki Taga.

3. Bandhan Tod: An Android app to fight child marriage in Bihar

In a unique initiative, Gender Alliance Bihar, a collective effort of over 270 civil society organisations backed by the UN Population Fund, has come up with a mobile application to fight the rampant social evil of child marriage in the state.

• Launched by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, the ‘Bandhan Tod’ app will try to create awareness on resisting child marriage and will also provide round-the-clock help to adolescent girls saying no to the practice in the form of an SOS button.
• The Gender Alliance is an initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and was started to bring together civil societies, activists, academicians, researchers, media, and others on a common platform to advocate gender equality.
• Bandhan Tod is part of Gender Alliance’s strategy to support the state government’s efforts to end child marriage and dowry.

4. National Conference on ‘Mission Mode to address Under-Nutrition’

The Ministry of Women and Child Development will hold the first ever National Conference in New Delhi tomorrow on Mission Mode to address Under-Nutrition in the country.

• Secretary WCD, Shri Rakesh Srivastava said that this conference is being organized by the Ministry of Women & Child Development in collaboration with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, keeping in mind the goal of “Malnutrition Free India-2022”.

5. Tripura is first state to set up district family welfare committees

Tripura has became the first state in the country to set up family welfare district committees to deal with the issue of fake and biased complaints by women against their husbands, in-laws and husband's relatives.

• State Governor Tathagata Roy in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other high dignitaries formally launched the family welfare committees in all eight districts in Tripura at a function in Tripura High Court.
• Tripura is the first state to have formed such committees, Tripura High Court Chief Justice T. Vaiphei said.

6. International Yoga Festival starts in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir governor N N Vohra inaugurated the second International Yoga Festival and International Yoga Sports Championship 2017 in which about 300 people from across the world are participating.

• The festival is being organized by the Yoga Society of Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre.
• About 300 participants from various parts of India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Canada, Bulgaria, USA and Nepal are participating in the festival.

7. Akshay Kumar Appointed Brand Ambassador For Swachh Bharat Mission In Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the appointment of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as the brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the state.

• Akshay was also appointed as the brand ambassador for the cleanliness campaign in Uttar Pradesh last month and his film "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" was made tax free in the state.
• The movie stresses on the importance of building toilets and ending open defecation in the country.

8. Y.C Modi named NIA chief

Senior IPS officer Y.C Modi, who was part of the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team that probed the 2002 Gujarat riot cases, was named chief of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

• The federal probe agency is tasked with probing terrorism and terror-financing related cases.
• Another senior IPS officer, Rajni Kant Misra, has been appointed Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

9. Economist Mercedes Araoz sworn in as Peru's new prime minister

Peru's Second Vice President, Mercedes Araoz, an economist, was sworn in as the new head of the Council of Ministers - known as the prime minister - formed by 13 members of the cabinet.

• Araoz, 56, took the oath of office before President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski at a ceremony held at the Government Palace in Lima, where five other new ministers were also sworn in and another 13 such appointments were confirmed by the president.

10. Nigerian lawyer gets top UN peace prize

A Nigerian lawyer who helped secure the release of more than 100 schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram was awarded one of the United Nations’ top prizes.

• The UNHCR said Zannah Mustapha was given the annual Nansen award for his ‘crucial mediating’ role as well as his work helping children affected by the long-running conflict.
• Mr. Mustapha set up The Future Prowess Islamic Foundation School 10 years ago, which has since proved a lifeline for children in conflict-riven and impoverished northeast Nigeria.

11. Riz Ahmed becomes first Asian man to win an acting Emmy

Riz Ahmed has become the first man of Asian descent to win an acting award at the Emmys. He is a British actor of Pakistani descent.

• The two actors of Asian descent who have won at the Emmys earlier are British-Indian Archie Panjabi and Iranian-American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.
• Riz won at the 69th Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie category for his role in "The Night Of".

12. Dr Kirpal Chugh, India’s father of nephrology, dies at 85

Dr Kirpal Singh Chugh, fondly called father of nephrology in India, has passed away. He was 85.

• Belonging to Patti in Tarn Taran, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, in 2000.
• He is the first Indian to receive the Bywaters Award by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
• Nephrology is the study of normal kidney function and kidney problems, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney problems.
