ज़िपजेट के एक नए अध्ययन के आधार पर, स्टुटगार्ट जर्मनी दुनिया में सबसे कम तनावग्रस्त शहर है।

• अध्ययन ने 2017 के विश्व के सबसे कम और सबसे अधिक तनावपूर्ण शहरों का पता लगाया है, और विश्व स्तर पर शहरों को दुनिया भर के कारकों पर मापा है, जो बेरोजगारी, शारीरिक और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य, सार्वजनिक परिवहन, सुरक्षा की कमी के कारण पैदा तनाव पर आधारित है।
• बगदाद, इराक दुनिया का सबसे तनावग्रस्त शहर है, जबकि दिल्ली 9 वां सबसे तनावग्रस्त शहर है।

2. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लोकतंत्र दिवस: 15 सितंबर

2007 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 15 सितंबर को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लोकतंत्र दिवस के रूप में मनाने का संकल्प किया था।

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लोकतंत्र दिवस का उद्देश्य लोकतंत्र के सिद्धांतों को बढ़ावा देना और उनका समर्थन करना है।
• इस साल का विषय ‘लोकतंत्र और संघर्ष निवारण’ है।

3. मॉन्ट्रियल प्रोटोकॉल की 30वीं वर्षगांठ और 23वां विश्व ओजोन दिवस मनाया गया

मॉन्ट्रियल प्रोटोकॉल की 30वीं वर्षगांठ और 23वां विश्व ओजोन दिवस 16 सितंबर, 2017 को मनाया गया।

• वर्ष 2017 का विषय 'केयरिंग फॉर ऑल लाईफ अंडर द सन' है।
• वर्ष 2017, उन पदार्थों पर मॉन्ट्रियल प्रोटोकॉल की 30वीं वर्षगांठ को दर्शाता है जो ओज़ोन लेयर को क्षति पहुंचाते हैं।

• मॉन्ट्रियल प्रोटोकॉल सबसे सफल वैश्विक पर्यावरण संधियों में से एक है, जिसके कार्यान्वयन ने न केवल ओजोन क्षतिकारक रसायनों के लगभग 98% का नेतृत्व किया है, बल्कि 135 बिलियन टन कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड उत्सर्जन को भी टाल दिया है।
• मॉन्ट्रियल प्रोटोकॉल ही एकमात्र पर्यावरण संधि है जिसे 197 संयुक्त राष्ट्र सदस्य देशों का सार्वभौमिक अनुसमर्थन प्राप्त है।

4. जर्मन नागरिकता दुनिया में सबसे मूल्यवान

एक नई रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, जर्मनी के पास दुनिया का सबसे शक्तिशाली पासपोर्ट ही नहीं है, बल्कि उनके पास सर्वाधिक बहुमूल्य नागरिकता भी है।

• कंसल्टेंसी हेनले एंड पार्टनर्स ने ‘प्रथम राष्ट्रीयता गुणवत्ता सूचकांक’ (क्यूएनआई) में 0 से 100% के पैमाने पर 161 देशों की नागरिकता का मापन किया।
• यूरोपीय देश शीर्ष 20 स्थानों पर हावी रहे।

5. ट्यूनीशिया ने मुस्लिम महिलाओं के गैर-मुसलमानों से शादी करने पर प्रतिबंध हटाया

ट्यूनीशियाई सरकार ने मुस्लिम महिलाओं के गैर-मुसलमानों से शादी करने पर प्रतिबंध हटा दिया है। ऐसा राष्ट्रपति की सिफारिश पर किया गया है जिसके अनुसार ट्यूनीशिया को आधुनिक बनाने की जरूरत है।

• मुस्लिम पुरुषों को गैर-मुस्लिम महिलाओं से शादी करने की इजाजत थी, परन्तु महिलाओं को ऐसी इजाजत नहीं थी।
• एक सरकारी अधिकारी ने कहा कि ऐसे विवाह अब स्वतंत्र रूप से पंजीकृत हो सकते हैं।

6. 2030 तक यूएन स्वास्थ्य लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने में भारत 128वें स्थान पर

भारत 2030 तक स्वास्थ्य से जुड़े संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सतत विकास लक्ष्य (एसडीजी) को हासिल करने की दिशा में 128 वें स्थान पर रहा है। द लैंसेट की ओर से प्रकाशित वैश्विक स्वास्थ्य समीक्षा में भारत को वायु प्रदूषण, स्वच्छता, हैपेटाइटिस बी और अन्य मापकों पर भारत बहुत कम अंक है।

• इस प्रतिष्ठित जर्नल में प्रकाशित 'द ग्लोबल बर्डन ऑफ डिजीज' नामक अध्ययन में इन लक्ष्यों तक पहुंचने को लेकर विश्व की स्थिति से जुड़ नए आकलन दिये गए हैं।
• सिंगापुर, आइसलैंड और स्वीडन इस सूची में सबसे अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने वाले तीन देशों हैं।
• सोमालिया, मध्य अफ्रीकी गणराज्य और अफगानिस्तान सबसे निचले स्थान पर हैं।

7. जापान ने भारतीय योग विशेषज्ञों पर डाक टिकट जारी किए

जापान में भारतीय योग के प्रसार में बिशनु चरण घोष और उनके परिवार के सदस्यों द्वारा अदा की गई भूमिका को स्वीकार करते हुए जापानी डाक विभाग ने बंगाल के चार प्रसिद्ध योग विशेषज्ञों पर डाक टिकट जारी किए हैं।

• बिष्णु चरण घोष, उनके पुत्र विश्वनाथ घोष, बेटी करुणा घोष और करुणा के ससुर असुतोश घोष पर टिकट, जो हाल ही में जापान में जारी किए गए थे, आधिकारिक तौर पर कोलकाता में जापानी कॉन्सल जनरल, मसायुकी टागा द्वारा प्रदर्शित किये गये।

8. डब्ल्यूएचओ ने रोहिंग्या हेल्थकेयर के लिए 175,000 डॉलर का अनुदान दिया

डब्ल्यूएचओ ने बांग्लादेश के कॉक्स बाजार में 'कमजोर आबादी' को स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रदान करने के लिए 175,000 डॉलर की आपातकालीन धन की अपनी पहली किश्त जारी की है।

• यद्यपि विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) ने विशेष रूप से रोहंगिया शरणार्थियों का उल्लेख नहीं किया है, लेकिन म्यांमार की सैन्य कार्रवाई से बचने के बाद 25 अगस्त से 410,000 से ज्यादा लोग कॉक्स बाजार में आए हैं।
• डब्लूएचओ दक्षिण-पूर्व एशिया क्षेत्रीय स्वास्थ्य आपातकालीन निधि (सीएआरएचईएफ) ने 175,000 डॉलर की अनुदान के लिए कम से कम दो महीने तक आवश्यक सेवाएं प्रदान करने के लिए 20 मोबाइल मेडिकल टीमों को तैनात किया है।

9. भारत तीसरा सर्वाधिक प्राकृतिक आपदाओं का सामना करने वाला देश

संयुक्त राष्ट्र के महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटरस ने कहा कि पिछली आधी शताब्दी में सबसे अधिक प्राकृतिक आपदाओं का सामना करने वाले देशों में भारत तीसरे स्थान पर रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि जलवायु परिवर्तन पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय कार्रवाई की मांग की।

• संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के बाद चीन, भारत, फिलीपींस और इंडोनेशिया ने 1995 से सबसे अधिक आपदाओं का सामना किया है।
• यह जलवायु परिवर्तन के सात वैश्विक खतरों में से एक है, जिस पर उन्होंने तुरंत वैश्विक कार्रवाई की आवश्यकता के बारे में आह्वान किया।

10. पहला बिम्सटेक आपदा प्रबंधन अभ्यास-2017 

पहला बिम्सटेक आपदा प्रबंधन अभ्यास- 2017' (बिम्सटेक DMEx 2017)'  10 से 13 अक्टूबर, 2017 तक दिल्ली और राष्ट्रीय राजधानी क्षेत्र में आयोजित किया जाएगा जिसे राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रतिक्रिया बल द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा।

• यह अभ्यास डिजास्टर रिस्क रिडक्शन के सभी पहलुओं पर सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रथाओं को शेयर करने के लिए एक मंच की तरह कार्य करने के अलावा बिम्सटेक के सदस्य देशों में आपदा प्रबंधन के लिए क्षेत्रीय प्रतिक्रिया और समन्वय को मजबूत करेगा।प्
• बहुक्षेत्रीय तकनीकी और आर्थिक सहयोग के लिए बंगाल की खाड़ी पहल' (बिम्सटेक) समूह के सभी सात राष्ट्र बांग्लादेश, भूटान, भारत, म्यांमार, नेपाल, श्रीलंका और थाईलैंड इस कार्यक्रम में भाग ले रहे हैं।

11. भारत हैटन में वेंकेशनल ट्रेनिंग सेंटर के उन्नयन में सहायता करेगा

श्रीलंका के नुवरा एलीया जिले में स्थित थोंडामान व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण केन्द्र (टीटीटीसी), हैटन को अपग्रेड करने के लिए भारत और श्रीलंका ने एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

• समझौता ज्ञापन पर भारत के उच्चायुक्त तारनजीत सिंह संधु और हिल कंट्री मंत्रालय, न्यू विलेजेज, बुनियादी ढांचा और सामुदायिक विकास सचिव आर नादरशपिलई द्वारा हस्ताक्षर किए गए।
• केंद्र का उन्नयन भारत सरकार से 199 मिलियन एसएलआर के अनुदान के जरिये किया जाएगा।

12. अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति दिवस: 21 सितंबर

अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति दिवस, जिसे कभी-कभी अनौपचारिक रूप से विश्व शांति दिवस के रूप में जाना जाता है, प्रतिवर्ष 21 सितंबर को मनाया जाता है।

• यह विश्व शांति, और विशेष रूप से युद्ध और हिंसा रोकने के लिए समर्पित है।
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शांति दिवस 2017 का विषय " Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All" है।

13. विश्व अल्ज़ाइमर दिवस: 21 सितंबर

14. भविष्य के लिए छात्रों को तैयार करने में न्यूजीलैंड विश्व में शीर्ष

न्यूजीलैंड और कनाडा को एक ऐसे प्रमुख अध्ययन में भविष्य के लिए छात्रों को तैयार करने वाले सर्वश्रेष्ठ देशों के रूप में पहचाना गया है, जो शिक्षा प्रणालियों के "प्रभावशीलता" का मूल्यांकन करता है।

• यिडान पुरस्कार फाउंडेशन के लिए अर्थशास्त्री खुफिया इकाई द्वारा निर्मित भविष्य सूचकांक दुनिया भर में 16 मानकों पर 35 अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में शिक्षा प्रणाली का मूल्यांकन करता है।
• पांच उच्चतम श्रेणी वाले देशों में न्यूजीलैंड, कनाडा, फिनलैंड, स्विट्जरलैंड और सिंगापुर हैं।

15. अमेरिका ने रोहिंग्या को 32 मिलियन डॉलर सहायता दी

अमेरिका म्यांमार में हिंसा से पलायन करके बांग्लादेश जाने वाले रोहिंग्या मुस्लिम अल्पसंख्यकों को 32 मिलियन डॉलर मानवतावादी सहायता पैकेज प्रदान करेगा।

• सहायता पैकेज की घोषणा राज्य सचिव रेक्स टिलरसन की म्यांमार की नेता ऑंग सान सु की से बातचीत के एक दिन बाद की गई।
• रोहिंग्या विद्रोहियों ने 25 अगस्त को रेखिन राज्य में पुलिस चौकियों पर हमला कर दिया था जिसके परिणामस्वरूप 12 सुरक्षा जवानों की मौत हो गई तथा इससे उपजी हिंसा के बाद से 415,000 रोहंग्या बांग्लादेश चले गए हैं।

16. भारत का पहला पशु कानून केंद्र हैदराबाद में खुला

हैदराबाद में नालसर विश्वविद्यालय ने पशु कानून के लिए भारत का पहला केंद्र स्थापित किया है।

• महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री केंद्रीय मंत्री मनेका गांधी ने शिमिरपेट परिसर में केंद्र का उद्घाटन किया।
• ह्युमन सोसाइटी इंटरनेशनल भी केंद्र की कार्यप्रणाली में एक महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाएगा और इसकी गतिविधियां संचालित करेगा।

17. असम सरकार ने प्रणाम बिल पारित किया

असम विधानसभा ने अपनी तरह का पहला विधेयक पारित किया है, जिसने असम सरकार के कर्मचारियों के लिए अपने वृद्ध और आश्रित माता-पिता और शारीरिक रूप से विकलांग भाई बहनों की देखभाल को अनिवार्य कर दिया है, जिनके पास अपनी आय का स्रोत नहीं है।

• एम्पलॉयीज पैरंट्स रेस्पॉन्सिबिलिटी ऐंड नॉर्म्स फॉर अकाउंटैबिलिटी ऐंड मॉनिटरिंग (प्रणाम) विधेयक सर्वसम्मति से पारितकिया गया जिसे लगभग सभी सत्तारूढ़ और विपक्षी विधायकों ने समर्थन दिया।
• माता-पिता या जरूरतमंद भाई-बहन जो उपेक्षित महसूस करते हैं वे उस व्यक्ति के खिलाफ विभाग के प्रमुख से शिकायतें दर्ज कर सकते हैं, जो दोनों पक्षों की सुनवाई के बाद, कर्मचारी के वेतन से 10-15% कटौती कर सकते हैं और माता-पिता को दे सकते हैं।

18. डीआरडीओ द्वारा ट्राल सिस्टम का स्वदेशी विकास

रक्षा अनुसंधान एवं विकास संगठन (डीआरडीओ) के आर्मामेंट एंड कॉम्बैट इंजीनियरिंग (एसीई) क्लस्टर के तहत एक प्रमुख प्रणाली इंजीनियरिंग प्रयोगशाला आर एंड डी ने हाल ही में भारतीय सेना की आवश्यकताओं के लिए युद्ध क्षेत्र में माइनफील्ड क्षेत्र का पता लगाने वाले ट्राल सिस्टम का डिजाइन और विकास किया है।

• डीआरडीओ द्वारा विकसित ट्राल सिस्टम निष्क्रिय और सक्रिय प्रभावी माइंस सहित विभिन्न लैंड माइंस को तोड़ने में सक्षम है।

19. देवेंद्र फड़नवीस ने 'महाराष्ट्र मिशन 1 मिलियन' की शुरूआत की

महाराष्ट्र के मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस ने 'महाराष्ट्र मिशन 1 मिलियन' की पहल की है जिसके तहत राज्य में 10 लाख से अधिक छात्र फुटबॉल खेलेंगे।

• फडनवीस के मुताबिक, मिशन केवल फुटबॉल खिलाडी और प्रेमी नहीं बनाएगा, बल्कि राज्य के समग्र विकास में भी मदद करेगा।
• इस पहल के तहत, राज्य सरकार को यह सुनिश्चित करना है कि बच्चों को खुले स्थान में खेलने का मौका मिले।

20. भारत-अमेरीका संयुक्त अभ्यास युधाभ्यास -2017 का उद्घाटन

भारतीय और अमेरिकी सेनाओं के बीच एक संयुक्त सैन्य अभ्यास युद्घ अभ्यास- 2017 जॉइंट बेस लुइस मेकॉर्द, वाशिंगटन, अमेरिका में एक संक्षिप्त और प्रभावशाली उद्घाटन समारोह के साथ शुरू हुआ।

• यूएस दल का प्रतिनिधित्व अमेरिकी सेना के 20 इन्फैंट्री रेजिमेंट से 5 वीं इन्फैंट्री बटालियन की कंपनी द्वारा किया गया था जबकि भारतीय पक्ष का प्रतिनिधित्व सूर्य कमांड से गोरखा राइफल्स के सैनिकों ने किया।

21. भारत जल्द ही चकमा, हाजोंग शरणार्थियों को नागरिकता प्रदान करेगा

केंद्र जल्द ही करीब एक लाख चकमा और हाजोंग शरणार्थियों को नागरिकता देगा, जो पांच दशक पहले पूर्वी पाकिस्तान से आये था और पूर्वोत्तर में शिविरों में रह रहे हैं।

• 2015 में, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र सरकार को निर्देश दिया था कि वे चकमा और हाजोंग शरणार्थियों को नागरिकता प्रदान करें, जो ज्यादातर अरुणाचल प्रदेश में रह रहे हैं।

स्मरणीय बिंदु

• चकमा और हजोंग मूल रूप से पूर्वी पाकिस्तान में चटगांव पहाड़ी इलाकों के निवासी थे।
• 1960 के दशक में कप्ताई बांध परियोजना के कारन उनके घर डूब जाने के कारण उन्होंने अपनी मातृभूमि छोड़ी।
• चकमा जो बौद्ध हैं और हजोंग, जो हिंदू हैं,  को कथित तौर पर धार्मिक उत्पीड़न का सामना करना पड़ा तब उन्होनें असम के तत्कालीन लूशई पहाड़ी जिले (अब मिजोरम) के माध्यम से भारत में प्रवेश किया।

22. राष्ट्र के पहले सरकारी मोबाइल पशु चिकित्सा क्लीनिक का शुभारंभ

तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव ने राज्य में कई विधानसभा क्षेत्रों के लिए सौ मोबाइल पशु चिकित्सा क्लिनिकों का शुभारंभ किया।

• जीवीके-ईएमआरआई द्वारा प्रदत्त क्लिनिक्स 108 एंबुलेंस सेवा की तरह है जो टोल फ्री नंबर 1962 पर उपलब्ध है।
• देश में इस तरह के पहले कार्यक्रम की पूर्व प्रधान मंत्री देवगौड़ा ने भी सराहना की।

23. छतीसगढ मजदूरों को भोजन प्रदान करने की योजना शुरु

छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री रमन सिंह ने 'पंडित दीनदयाल उपाध्याय श्रम अन्न सहयोग योजना' शुरू की, जिसके तहत राज्य में मजदूरों को 5 रुपये में पौष्टिक भोजन दिया जाएगा।

• इस योजना के तहत, पहले श्रम अन्ना सहयोग केंद्र का उद्घाटन तेलिंबंध क्षेत्र में हुआ, जहां लगभग 1000 मजदूरों को सुबह 8 से 10 बजे तक रोजाना भोजन दिया जाएगा।
• केंद्र का निर्माण 20 लाख रुपये की लागत से किया गया है।
• इस बीच, उसी परिसर में स्थापित एक कौशल विकास केंद्र भी इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री द्वारा समर्पित किया गया।
• कचरा बीनने में लगे परिवारों की लड़कियों और महिलाओं को सिलाई, खाना पकाने सहित विभिन्न विषयों में कौशल विकास प्रशिक्षण दिया जाएगा।

24. अमित शाह ने झारखंड में 'शहीद ग्राम विकास योजना' की शुरूआत की

भाजपा अध्यक्ष अमित शाह ने झारखंड के खुंती जिले में उलिहात्तु में एक कार्यक्रम के दौरान 'शहीद ग्राम विकास योजना' की शुरुआत की।

• उलिहात्तु झारखंड के आदिवासी आइकन बिरसा मुंडा का जन्मस्थान है।
• शाह द्वारा शुरू किया गया कार्यक्रम उलिहात्तु के निवासियों और इसके चारों ओर के कुछ अन्य गांवों को को 136 पक्के घर प्रदान करेगा।

25. महाराष्ट्र भारत में डीएनए डाटाबेस रखने वाला पहला राज्य बनेगा

महाराष्ट्र फॉरेंसिक साइंस लैबोरेटरी (एफएसएल) के साथ एक प्रमुख आईटी कंपनी अपराधियों के डीएनए प्रोफाइल के भंडारण के लिए एक उपकरण का निर्माण कर रही है ताकि महिलाओं और बच्चों के खिलाफ गंभीर अपराधों की जांच में पुलिस की मदद की जा सके।

• महाराष्ट्र डीएनए डाटाबेस शुरू करने वाला पहला भारतीय राज्य होगा, जो कानून प्रवर्तन एजेंसियों को माओवादियों के साथ-साथ आतंकवादियों पर नज़र रखने में भी मदद करेगा।

26. बंधन तोड़: बिहार में बाल विवाह से लड़ने के लिए एक एंड्रॉइड ऐप

एक अनूठी पहल में, जेंडर एलायंस बिहार, संयुक्त राष्ट्र जनसंख्या निधि द्वारा समर्थित 270 से अधिक नागरिक समाज संगठनों के एक समूह ने राज्य में बाल विवाह की व्यापक सामाजिक बुराई से लड़ने के लिए एक मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन लांच किया है।

• उपमुख्यमंत्री सुशील कुमार मोदी द्वारा शुरू ‘बंधन तोड़’ ऐप न केवल बाल विवाह का विरोध करने के बारे में जागरुकता पैदा करने का प्रयास करेगी बल्कि एसओएस बटन के जरिये किशोरावस्था में लड़कियों को बाल बिवाह ना करने के लिये प्रेरित करेगा।
• जेंडर एलायंस संयुक्त राष्ट्र जनसंख्या कोष (यूएनएफपीए) की एक पहल है और लैंगिक समानता की वकालत करने के लिए एक समान मंच पर नागरिक समाज, कार्यकर्ता, शिक्षाविदों, शोधकर्ताओं, मीडिया और अन्य लोगों को एक साथ लाने के लिए शुरू किया गया था।
• बंधन तोड़ बाल विवाह और दहेज को समाप्त करने के लिए राज्य सरकार के प्रयासों का समर्थन करने के लिए जेंडर एलायंस की रणनीति का हिस्सा है।

27. ‘मिशन मोड टू एड्रेस अंडर न्यूट्रिशन’ पर नेशनल कांफ्रेंस'

देश में अल्प-पोषण को संबोधित करने के लिए ‘मिशन मोड टू एड्रेस अंडर न्यूट्रिशन’ पर महिला और बाल विकास मंत्रालय, नई दिल्ली में पहली बार राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित करेगा।

28. जिला परिवार कल्याण समितियों की स्थापना करने वाला त्रिपुरा पहला राज्य

महिलाओं द्वारा पति, ससुराल और पति के रिश्तेदारों के खिलाफ झूठी और पक्षपातपूर्ण शिकायतों के मुद्दे से निपटने के लिए परिवार कल्याण जिला समितियों की स्थापना करने वाला त्रिपुरा देश में पहला राज्य बन गया है, ।

• मुख्यमंत्री श्री माणिक सरकार और अन्य की उपस्थिति में राज्य के राज्यपाल तथागत रॉय ने त्रिपुरा उच्च न्यायालय में एक समारोह में औपचारिक रूप से त्रिपुरा के सभी आठ जिलों में परिवार कल्याण समितियां शुरू कीं।
• त्रिपुरा हाईकोर्ट के मुख्य न्यायाधीश टी वैफीई ने कहा कि त्रिपुरा ऐसी समितियों का गठन करने वाला पहला राज्य है।

29 अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग महोत्सव कश्मीर में शुरू

जम्मू और कश्मीर के गवर्नर एन एन वोहरा ने दूसरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग महोत्सव और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग स्पोर्ट्स चैम्पियनशिप 2017 का उद्घाटन किया जिसमें  दुनिया भर के करीब 300 लोग भाग ले रहे हैं।

• यह महोत्सव कश्मीर की योग सोसाइटी द्वारा शेर-ए-कश्मीर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन केंद्र में आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
• महोत्सव में भारत, वियतनाम, ताइवान, कनाडा, बुल्गारिया, अमेरिका और नेपाल के विभिन्न हिस्सों से लगभग 300 प्रतिभागी भाग ले रहे हैं।

30. टाटा स्टील, टेरी ने ओडिशा में 'ग्रीन स्कूल प्रोजेक्ट' का शुभारंभ किया

टाटा स्टील ने ऊर्जा और संसाधन संस्थान (टीईआरआई) के सहयोग से ओडिशा के जाजपुर जिले में स्कूल के परिसरों में पर्यावरण के मुद्दों के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करने के लिए एक पहल की है।

• उन्होंने "ग्रीन स्कूल प्रोजेक्ट" के तहत जाजपुर में अपने सुकिंडा क्रोमाइट खान (एससीएम) में छात्रों के लिए कार्यशालाओं की पहली श्रृंखला शुरू की।
• कार्यशाला टाटा स्टील के कच्चे माल क्षेत्र के सभी स्कूलों में 23 सितंबर तक चलेगी।
• ‘ग्रीन स्कूल प्रोजेक्ट’ इस साल अप्रैल में ओडिशा और झारखंड में टाटा स्टील के परिचालन स्थलों के स्कूलों में शुरू हुआ था।

31. दिल्ली में पांचवां पूर्वोत्तर महोत्सव आयोजित किया जाएगा

पूर्वोत्तर महोत्सव का पांचवां संस्करण, जो इस क्षेत्र के कई रंगों और प्रतिभा को एक साथ लाता है, 3 नवंबर को नई दिल्ली में शुरू होगा।

• आईजीएनसीए, जनपथ में आयोजित होने वाला तीन दिवसीय महोत्सव नागा योद्धा नृत्य, मणिपुर के थंग टा, त्रिपुरा के होजागिरी, मिजोरम के बम्बू नृत्य, मेघालय के वांगला नृत्य, अरुणाचल प्रदेश के शेर नृत्य के अलावा और बहुत कुछ प्रदर्शित करेगा।
• यह अपने हथकरघा उत्पादों और हस्तशिल्प दिखाने के लिए लगभग 150 बुनकरों / कारीगरों को एक मंच भी प्रदान करेगा।
• पर्यटन इस महोत्सव का मुख्य लक्ष्य है। लगभग 30 टूर ऑपरेटरों के पूर्वोत्तर से आने की संभावना है जो इस क्षेत्र के विभिन्न स्थलों का प्रदर्शन करेंगे।

32. वित्तीय साइबर अपराधों पर अंतर-मंत्रिस्तरीय समिति स्थापित करेगा केंद्र

वित्तीय साइबर अपराधों में वृद्धि की जांच के लिए उपायों के कार्यान्वयन की निगरानी के लिए सरकार ने एक अंतर-मंत्री मंत्रिस्तरीय समिति स्थापित करने का निर्णय लिया है।

• यह निर्णय गृह मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह की अध्यक्षता वाली बैठक में लिया गया, जहां उन्होंने वित्तीय क्षेत्र में साइबर अपराध की बढ़ती प्रवृत्ति को कम करने के लिए किए गए उपायों की समीक्षा की।
• उन्होंने विशेष रूप से कार्ड और ई-वॉलेट के उपयोग में साइबर धोखाधड़ी में वृद्धि पर चिंता व्यक्त की।

33. सिंगापुर पूर्वोत्तर भारत में कौशल विकास केन्‍द्र का निर्माण करेगा

सिंगापुर सरकार पूरे पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र की आवश्यककताओं को ध्यान में रखते हुए गुवाहाटी में कौशल विकास केन्द्र का निर्माण करेगा।

• पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में राज्य मंत्री, कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत एवं पेंशन तथा अंतरिक्ष व परमाणु ऊर्जा मंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्रं सिंह ने यह जानकारी दी।
• गुवाहाटी में कौशल विकास केन्द्र  की स्थापना को लेकर सिंगापुर और असम की सरकार के बीच समझौता ज्ञापन पहले ही तैयार किया जा चुका है।
• कौशल विकास केन्द्र  का निर्माण कार्य 2019 तक पूरे होने की संभावना है। पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास मंत्रालय इस पहल का संयोजन करेगा।

34. उप-राष्ट्रपति ने डॉ. एम. एस. सुब्बुलक्ष्मी  पर स्मारक सिक्का  जारी किया

उप-राष्ट्रपति श्री एम. वेंकैया नायडू ने भारत रत्न डॉ. एम. एस. सुब्बुलक्ष्मी  के जन्मशती के अवसर पर एक स्मा्रक सिक्का जारी किया और 'कुराई ओनरुम इलाई-एमएस : लाइफ इन म्यूजिक' विषय पर आयोजित एक प्रदर्शनी का उद्घाटन किया।

35. डॉ. जितेन्‍द्र सिंह पहली ‘पेंशन अदालत’ का उद्घाटन करेंगे

पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार) , प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में राज्य मंत्री,कार्मिक लोक शिकायत एवं पेंशन तथा अंतरिक्ष व परमाणु ऊर्जा मंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्र सिंह 20 सितंबर को पहली लोक अदालत का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

• वे ‘अनुभव’ के तहत उल्लेखनीय योगदान देने वाले पेंशनरों को भी सम्मानित करेंगे।‘अनुभव’ एक ऐसा प्लेटफॉर्म है जहां सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारी सरकार के साथ अपने कार्य के ‘अनुभव’ को बांटते हैं।
• ई- गर्वेनेंस से एम गर्वेनेंस की ओर बढते हुए एक मोबाइल ऐप भी बनाया गया है जिसमें पेंशनर्स अपनी सेवाएं व ‘अनुभव’ प्रदान कर सकेंगे। इस संदर्भ में एक पोर्टल भी लॉंच किया जाएगा। माननीय मंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्र सिंह इनका उद्घाटन करेंगे।
• भारत सरकार के पेंशनरों के कल्याण के उपायों के तहत केंद्र सरकार के 300 सेवानिवृत्त हो रहे लोगों के लिए सेवा निवृत्ति से पूर्व काउंसलिंग के लिए एक कार्यशाला का आयोजन भी किया जा रहा है। इसका आयोजन कार्मिक लोक शिकायत एवं पेंशन मंत्रालय की पेंशन एवं पेंशनर कल्याण विभाग ने किया है।
• इस कार्यशाला का उद्देश्य सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद के लाभों के बारे में जागरुकता पैदा करना है साथ ही कार्यशाला में सेवानिवृत्ति के बाद के जीवन की पूर्व योजना के बारे में भी जानकारी मुहैया कराई जाएगी।

36. कजाकिस्‍तान के अस्‍ताना में अंतर-सरकारी आयोग की 13वीं बैठक

केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम एवं प्राकृतिक गैस और कौशल विकास एवं उद्यमिता मंत्री श्री धर्मेन्द्र  प्रधान 19 से लेकर 20 सितंबर, 2017 तक कजाकिस्तान के अस्ताना के दौरे पर रहेंगे। इस दौरान वह कजाकिस्तान के अस्ताना में आयोजित अंतर-सरकारी आयोग (आईजीसी) की 13वीं बैठक के सह-अध्यक्षे होंगे।

• कजाकिस्तान की तरफ से कजाकिस्तान के ऊर्जा मंत्री श्री कानत बोजुमबेयेव इस बैठक के सह-अध्यक्ष होंगे।
• आईजीसी की बैठक का उद्देश्य जुलाई, 2015 और जून, 2017 में प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा की गई कजाकिस्तान की यात्राओं के दौरान भारत और कजाकिस्तान के बीच तय किए गए एजेंडे पर आगे की कार्रवाई पर चर्चा करना है।

37. केन्द्रीय कपड़ा मंत्री 'वस्त्र' 2017 की शुरुआत करेंगी

चार दिवसीय अंतर्राष्ट्रीय टैक्सटाइल और अपरल फेयर 'वस्त्र' का 6वां संस्करण 21 से 24 सितंबर को जयपुर में आयोजित किया जा रहा है । इस फेयर का आयोजन सीतापुरा स्थित जयपुर एक्ज़ीबिशन एंड कन्वेंशन सेंटर (जेईसीसी) में किया जाएगा।

• केन्द्रीय कपड़ा और सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी और मुख्यमंत्री वसुंधरा राजे 21 सितंबर को इसका उद्घाटन करेंगी।

38. आंध्र के मुख्यमंत्री ने शिकायत निवारण के लिए 'पीपुल फर्स्ट' मोबाइल ऐप लॉंच किया

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने विजयवाड़ा में कलेक्टरों के सम्मेलन में शिकायत निवारण के लिए 'पीपुल फर्स्ट' मोबाइल एप्लिकेशन लॉंच किया।

• कलेक्टरों के सम्मेलन की अध्यक्षता करते हुए चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने कहा कि इस एप्लिकेशन के तहत आंध्र प्रदेश के लोग सरकारी सेवाओं और योजनाओं के बारे में शिकायतें दर्ज करने के लिए 1100 डायल कर सकते हैं।

39. आंध्र के मुख्यमंत्री नायडू ने 2017 को ई-प्रगति वर्ष घोषित किया

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री एन चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने वर्ष 2017 को ई-प्रगति वर्ष के रूप में घोषित किया है।

• नायडू ने कहा कि सभी जिलों को फ्लैगशिप प्रोग्राम के दायरे में आना चाहिए जो सरकार को वास्तविक शासन में मदद करेगा।
• मुख्यमंत्री ने आंध्र प्रदेश खेल नीति 2017 का भी उद्घाटन किया।

40. मजगांव डॉक लिमिटेड ने भारतीय नौसेना स्कॉर्पियन वर्ग की पहली पनडुब्बी भेजी  

मुंबई में सरकारी स्वामित्व वाले मजगांव डॉक लिमिटेड ने भारतीय नौसेना को छः स्कॉर्पियन वर्ग की पनडुब्बियों में से पहली पनडुब्बी भेज दी है। पनडुब्बी आईएनएस कालवारी को जल्द ही नौसेना में शामिल किया जाएगा।

• एक वरिष्ठ नौसेना के अधिकारी ने कहा, यह भारतीय नौसेना के पनडुब्बी कार्यक्रम में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर साबित होगा क्योंकि जहाज से भारत के समुद्री कौशल के मजबूत होने की उम्मीद है।
• फ्रेंच नौसेना रक्षा और ऊर्जा कंपनी डीसीएनएस द्वारा तैयार की गई छह पनडुब्बियां, भारतीय नौसेना की सिंधुघोश और शिशुमार वर्ग की पनडुब्बियों की जगह लेगी।

41. आंध्र प्रदेश को मार्च 2018 तक ओडीएफ घोषित किया जाएगा

आंध्र प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री श्री एन. चंद्रबाबू नायडु ने घोषणा करते हुए कहा कि आंध्र प्रदेश को मार्च 2018 तक ओडीएफ (खुले में शौच मुक्त) राज्य घोषित कर दिया जाएगा।

• “स्वच्छता ही सेवा” के तहत विजयवाड़ा में आयोजित जिलाधीशों के सम्मेलन में यह घोषणा की गई।
• इस अभियान को आगे बढ़ाते हुए 17 सितंबर 2017 तक मध्य प्रदेश में शौचालयों के निर्माण के लिए दो लाख से अधिक गड्ढे खोदे गए। 2 अक्टूबर 2017 तक करीब एक लाख गड्ढों को शौचालय में परिवर्तित करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

42. सुशासन, विकास और मानवाधिकार विषय पर राष्ट्रीय सेमिनार

केन्द्रीय गृह मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने कहा कि भारतीय संस्कृति में हमेशा से ही अधिकारों पर नहीं, बल्कि कर्तव्यों पर अधिक ध्यान केन्द्रित रहा है। यदि प्रत्येक व्यक्ति अपने कर्तव्यों का निर्वहन करता है तो सभी के अधिकार स्वतः ही सुरक्षित हो जाते हैं।

• वह नई दिल्ली में सुशासन, विकास एवं मानवाधिकार विषय पर राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार आयोग (एनएचआरसी) द्वारा आयोजित दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय सेमिनार को संबोधित कर रहे थे।

43. भारत ने जेआईसीए के साथ 76 मिलियन यूएस डॉलर का ऋण सौदा किया

अलंग-सोसिया जहाज रीसाइक्लिंग यार्ड में पर्यावरण प्रबंधन योजना को अपग्रेड करने की एक परियोजना के लिए भारत सरकार ने जापान इंटरनेशनल कोऑपरेशन एजेंसी (जेआईसीए) के साथ 76 मिलियन डॉलर का ऋण करार किया है।

• परियोजना की कुल लागत 111 मिलियन डॉलर होगी, जिसमें से $76 मिलियन जेआईसीए द्वारा सॉफ्ट लोन के रूप में प्रदान किया जाएगा।
• शेष राशि में, टैक्स और फीस के रूप में $ 25 मिलियन गुजरात सरकार द्वारा वहन किए जाएंगे और शेष 10 करोड़ डॉलर का जहाजरानी मंत्रालय और गुजरात सरकार द्वारा साझा किया जाएगा।
• यह परियोजना गुजरात मैरीटाइम बोर्ड (जीएमबी) द्वारा निष्पादित की जाएगी और 2022 तक पूरा होने की संभावना है।

44. अमेज़न इंडिया का सूक्ष्म ऋण के लिए बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के साथ करार

ई-कॉमर्स दिग्गज अमेज़न इंडिया ने बैंक ऑफ बड़ौदा के साथ गठजोड़ किया है जिसमें तीन से पांच दिनों के कम समय के लिये एक लाख रुपए से 25 लाख तक का असुरक्षित सूक्ष्म ऋण प्रदान किया जायेगा।

• ब्याज दर प्रतिस्पर्धी होगी और अमेज़न प्लेटफॉर्म पर छोटे और मध्यम व्यवसायों या विक्रेताओं को आसानी से ऋण प्राप्त करने में मदद मिलेगी, जिससे उनकी कार्यशील पूंजी को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और अपने व्यापार के विकास में भी मदद मिलेगी।

इंडसइंड बैंक ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में कम आय वाली महिला कर्जदारों के लिए एशियन डेवलपमेंट बैंक (एडीबी) से 200 मिलियन डॉलर (लगभग 1,282 करोड़ रुपये) का ऋण हासिल किया है।

• सात साल की अवधि वाला ऋण इंडसइंड बैंक की माइक्रो-फाइनेंस गतिविधियों के लिये है, निजी बैंक ने एक बयान में कहा।
• ऋण समझौते के अनुसार, एडीबी वित्तपोषण का लगभग 95 प्रतिशत महिलाओं के लिए होगा।
• कम विकसित राज्यों में कम से कम 70 प्रतिशत ऋण प्रदान किया जायेगा।

ब्रिटिश ब्रोकरेज एचएसबीसी ने कहा है कि भारत के अगले दस सालों में जापान और जर्मनी से आगे निकलकर तीसरी सबसे बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था बन जाने की संभावना है, लेकिन सुधारों में लगातार बदलाव करने और सामाजिक क्षेत्र पर अधिक ध्यान देने की आवश्यकता है।

राष्ट्रीय एल्युमिनियम कंपनी (नाल्को), हिंदुस्तान कॉपर (एचसीएल) और एमईसीएल, तीन सरकारी सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों ने एक खनीज बिदेश इंडिया लिमिटेड (काबिल) नामक संयुक्त उद्यम बनाने के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

51. ओईसीडी ने भारत की वित्त वर्ष 2008 की विकास दर को घटाया

माल और सेवा कर तथा विमुद्रिकरण के अस्थायी प्रभाव के चलते आर्थिक सहयोग और विकास संगठन ने चालू वित्त वर्ष के लिए भारत के विकास पूर्वानुमान को घटा दिया है।

• ओईसीडी ने कहा कि वित्त वर्ष 2018 में भारत की अर्थव्यवस्था विकास दर 6.7% हो जाएगी, जो जून के 7.3% के अनुमान से कम है।

लंदन स्थित व्यापार मूल्यांकन और रणनीतिक परामर्शदाता ब्रैंड फाइनेंस द्वारा आयोजित एक सर्वेक्षण के मुताबिक भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) भारत का सबसे भरोसेमंद और सबसे लोकप्रिय बैंक है।

53. जैन स्लोवाक गणराज्य में भारत के राजदूत नियुक्त

श्री हर्ष कुमार जैन, (आईएफएस: 1993) को स्लोवाक गणराज्य में भारत के अगले राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

54. अक्षय कुमार उत्तराखंड में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर नियुक्त

उत्तराखंड के मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत ने राज्य में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के ब्रांड एंबेसडर के रूप में बॉलीवुड अभिनेता अक्षय कुमार की नियुक्ति की घोषणा की।

उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने फिल्म निर्माता एस एस राजामौली को तेलुगू फिल्म उद्योग में उनके योगदान के लिए प्रतिष्ठित एएनआर राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार के साथ सम्मानित किया।

66. महिला किसानों के लिये पुणे के एनजीओ ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र इक्वेटर पुरस्कार जीता

पुणे के एक गैर-सरकारी संगठन स्वयं शिक्षण प्रयोग (एसएसपी), जो महिला किसानों के लिये काम करता है, ने इस साल संयुक्त राष्ट्र का इक्वेटर पुरस्कार जीता है।

• 15 विजेताओं में एसएसपी एकमात्र भारतीय संगठन है, जिन्हें 800 प्रविष्टियों से चुना गया था।

67. 50,000 रुपये के मासिक वेतनमान पाने के लिए टॉप एथलीट

खेल मंत्री राजवर्धन राठौर ने घोषणा की कि टोक्यो ओलंपिक, एशियाई खेलों और राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के लिए तैयारी कर रहे एलीट एथलीटों को अपने जेब खर्च को पूरा करने के लिए प्रति माह 50,000 रुपये का वेतन मिलेगा।

The Tunisian government has lifted a ban on Muslim women marrying non-Muslims on the recommendation of the president, who says Tunisia needs to modernise.

• A government official said such marriages can now be freely registered.

6. India Ranks 128th In Meeting UN's 2030 Health Target

India ranks 128th in terms of meeting the UN's health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, with low scores on air pollution, sanitation, hepatitis B and child wasting, according to a global health review published in The Lancet.

• The Global Burden of Disease study provides new estimates on where the world currently stands in terms of meeting health goals.
• Singapore, Iceland and Sweden were the highest performing countries in terms of the overall health- related SDGs.
• Somalia, Central African Republic, and Afghanistan ranked lowest.

7. Japan releases postage stamps on Indian yoga experts

Acknowledging the role played by yoga legend Bishnu Charan Ghosh and his family members in spreading Indian postural yoga in Japan, the Japanese postal department has released postage stamps on four of Bengal’s famous exponents of the ancient Indian practice.

• The stamps on Bishnu Charan Ghosh, his son Biswanath Ghosh, daughter Karuna Ghosh and Karuna’s father in law Asutosh Ghosh, that were released recently in Japan, were official showcased here by the Japanese Consul General in Kolkata, Masayuki Taga.

8. WHO grants $175,000 for Rohingyas’ healthcare

The WHO has released its first tranche of emergency funding of $175,000 to provide lifesaving healthcare to the ‘vulnerable population’ in Bangladesh’s Cox’s Bazar.

• Though the World Health Organisation (WHO) did not specifically mention the Rohingya refugees, over 410,000 of them have arrived in Cox’s Bazar since August 25 after escaping Myanmar’s military crackdown.
• The WHO South-East Asia Regional Health Emergency Fund (SEARHEF) grant of $175,000 will support 20 mobile medical teams to provide essential services for at least two months.

9. India ranks third among countries that faced most natural disasters

India ranked third among the countries that have faced the most natural disasters in the last half century, UN secretary-general Antonio Guterres said pleading for unwavering international action on climate change.

• The United States, followed by China, India, the Philippines and Indonesia, have experienced the most disasters since 1995.
• Climate change was among the seven global threats that he listed needing immediate global action.

10. First ‘BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise- 2017’

 

The First ‘BIMSTEC Disaster Management Exercise- 2017’ (BIMSTEC DMEx-2017) will be conducted by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) as the lead agency from October 10-13, 2017 in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).

• This Exercise will be a platform for sharing Best Practices on all aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), strengthening regional response and coordination for Disaster Management among the BIMSTEC member countries.
• All seven nations of the ‘Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation’ (BIMSTEC) Group Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand are participating in the event.

11. India assists upgradation of Thondaman Vocational Training Centre in Hatton

India and Sri Lanka signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to upgrade Thondaman Vocational Training Centre(TVTC), Hatton located in Nuwara Eliya District of Sri Lanka.

• The MoU was signed by High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Secretary, Ministry of Hill Country New Villages, Infrastructure and Community Development Mrs. R. Nadarasapillai.
• The upgradation of the center will be done using a grant of SLR 199 million from the Government of India.

14. New Zealand ‘top in world’ for preparing students for future

New Zealand and Canada have been singled out as the countries that best prepare students for the future, in a major study that assesses the “effectiveness” of education systems.

• The Worldwide Educating for the Future Index, produced by the Economist Intelligence Unit for the Yidan Prize Foundation, evaluates education systems in 35 economies across 16 indicators.
• The five highest ranked countries are New Zealand, Canada, Finland, Switzerland and Singapore.
• The two countries supplying the largest pool of workers in the world, India and China, are also below average (at 29th and 31st respectively).

15. US to give $32mn in aid to Rohingya

The US will provide a humanitarian aid package worth $32 million to the Rohingya Muslim minority who have fled violence in Myanmar and crossed into neighbouring Bangladesh.

• The aid package comes a day after Secretary of State Rex Tillerson spoke with Myanmar de facto leader of Myanmar Aung San Suu Kyi.
• Some 415,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since the ongoing violence broke out on August 25 when Rohingya rebels attacked police checkposts in Rakhine resulting in the deaths of 12 security personnel.

16. India's first centre for Animal Law opens in Hyderabad

Nalsar University of Law in Hyderabad has established India’s first Centre for Animal law.

• Union minister for Women and Child development Maneka Gandhi inaugurated the centre at the Shamirpet campus.
• Humane Society International will also play an important role in the functioning of the centre by steering and coordinate its activities.

17. Assam govt passes PRANAM Bill

 

Assam Assembly has passed a first of its kind Bill that has made it mandatory for Assam government employees to look after their aged and dependent parent/s and physically challenged siblings, if any, who don’t have their own source of income.

• The Assam Employees Parental Responsibility And Norms for Accountability and Monitoring (PRANAM) Bill was passed unanimously, with almost all the ruling and opposition MLAs backing it.
• The parents or needy siblings who feel neglected can lodge complaints with the head of the department of the person who, after hearing both sides, may deduct 10-15 percent of the salary of the employee and give it to the parents for their survival.

18. Indigenous Development of Trawl System by DRDO

R&DE (Engrs), a premier system engineering laboratory under Armament & Combat Engineering (ACE) cluster of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has recently undertaken the design and development of Trawl System for the minefield area in the battle zone to meet the operational requirements of Indian Army.

20. Opening Ceremony held for INDO-USA Joint Exercise Yudh Abhyas – 2017

Exercise Yudh Abhyas - 2017, a joint military exercise between Indian and US armies commenced at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington, USA with a brief and impressive opening ceremony.    

• The US contingent was represented by Company of 5th Infantry Battalion from 20 Infantry Regiment of the US Army while the Indian side was represented by soldiers of Gorkha Rifles from the Surya Command. 

21. India will soon grant citizenship to Chakma, Hajong refugees

The Centre will soon grant citizenship to nearly one lakh Chakma and Hajong refugees, who came from the erstwhile East Pakistan five decades ago and are living in camps in the northeast.

• In 2015, the Supreme Court had directed the Central government to grant citizenship to the Chakma and Hajong refugees, mostly staying in Arunachal Pradesh.

Points to Remember

• Chakmas and Hajongs were originally residents of Chittagong Hill Tracts in the erstwhile East Pakistan.
• They left their homeland when it was submerged by the Kaptai dam project in the 1960s.
• The Chakmas, who are Buddhists, and the Hajongs, who are Hindus, also allegedly faced religious persecution and entered India through the then Lushai Hills district of Assam (now Mizoram).

22. Nation’s first Govt. mobile vet clinics launched

 

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao flagged off a hundred mobile veterinary clinics for as many Assembly constituencies in the State.

• The clinics, like 108 for people which are serviced by GVK-EMRI, will also be aided by the same combination on toll free number 1962. .
• Billed as the first in the country, the programme won the appreciation of former Prime Minister Deve Gowda.

23. Scheme to provide meal to labourers launched in C'garh

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh launched 'Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shram Anna Sahayata Yojna' under which nutritious meal for Rs 5 will be provided to labourers in the state.

• Under the scheme, first Shram Anna Sahayata centre was inaugurated in Telibandha area where around 1,000 labourers will be served meal daily between 8 am to 10 am.
• The centre has been constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh.
• Meanwhile, a skill development centre set up in the same premises was also dedicated by the chief minister on the occasion.
• Girls and women from the families engaged in rag picking will be given skill development training in varied disciplines including stitching, cooking and others there.

24. Amit Shah launches ‘Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana’ in Jharkhand

BJP president Amit Shah launched the ‘Shaheed Gram Vikas Yojana’ during a programme at Ulihatu in Khunti district of Jharkhand.

• Ulihatu is the birthplace of Jharkhand’s tribal icon Birsa Munda.
• The programme launched by Shah would provide 136 pucca houses to the dwellers of Ulihatu and a couple of other hamlets around it.

25. Maharashtra to be the first state to have DNA databank in India

A major IT firm along with Maharashtra Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) is building a tool for storage of DNA profile of criminals to help police investigations dealing serious crimes against women and children.

• Maharashtra will be the first Indian state to start DNA database which will also help law enforcement agencies in tracking maoists as well as terrorists besides repeat offenders.
• Almost all developed countries including the USA, Canada, Australia, UK, NZ as well as majority of the European countries have DNA database.

26. Bandhan Tod: An Android app to fight child marriage in Bihar

In a unique initiative, Gender Alliance Bihar, a collective effort of over 270 civil society organisations backed by the UN Population Fund, has come up with a mobile application to fight the rampant social evil of child marriage in the state.

• Launched by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, the ‘Bandhan Tod’ app will try to create awareness on resisting child marriage and will also provide round-the-clock help to adolescent girls saying no to the practice in the form of an SOS button.
• The Gender Alliance is an initiative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and was started to bring together civil societies, activists, academicians, researchers, media, and others on a common platform to advocate gender equality.
• Bandhan Tod is part of Gender Alliance’s strategy to support the state government’s efforts to end child marriage and dowry.

27. National Conference on ‘Mission Mode to address Under-Nutrition’

The Ministry of Women and Child Development will hold the first ever National Conference in New Delhi tomorrow on Mission Mode to address Under-Nutrition in the country.

• Secretary WCD, Shri Rakesh Srivastava said that this conference is being organized by the Ministry of Women & Child Development in collaboration with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, keeping in mind the goal of “Malnutrition Free India-2022”.

28. Tripura is first state to set up district family welfare committees

Tripura has became the first state in the country to set up family welfare district committees to deal with the issue of fake and biased complaints by women against their husbands, in-laws and husband's relatives.

• State Governor Tathagata Roy in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other high dignitaries formally launched the family welfare committees in all eight districts in Tripura at a function in Tripura High Court.
• Tripura is the first state to have formed such committees, Tripura High Court Chief Justice T. Vaiphei said.

29. International Yoga Festival starts in Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir governor N N Vohra inaugurated the second International Yoga Festival and International Yoga Sports Championship 2017 in which about 300 people from across the world are participating.

• The festival is being organized by the Yoga Society of Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre.
• About 300 participants from various parts of India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Canada, Bulgaria, USA and Nepal are participating in the festival.

30. Tata Steel, TERI launch ‘Green School Project’ in Odisha

Tata Steel has in association with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) launched an initiative to create awareness about environment issues in school campuses in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

• They started the first series of workshops for the students at their Sukinda Chromite Mine (SCM) in Jajpur under the “Green School Project”.
• The workshop will run till September 23 in all identified schools across raw material locations of Tata Steel.
• The ‘Green School Project’ was launched in April this year in schools across the operational sites of Tata Steel in Odisha and Jharkhand.

31. Fifth North East Festival to be held in Delhi

The fifth edition of the North East Festival, which brings together the numerous colours and talents of the region, will begin in New Delhi on November 3.

• The three-day festival, to be held at IGNCA, Janpath, will present Naga warrior dance, Thang ta of Manipur, Hojagiri of Tripura, Bamboo dance of Mizoram, Wangala dance of Meghalaya, Lion dance of Arunachal Pradesh and much more,.
• It will also give a platform to around 150 weavers/artisans to show their handloom products and handicrafts.
• Tourism is the main focus of the festival. Around 30 tour operators are expected to come from the northeast that will exhibit various destinations of the region.

32. Centre to set up inter-ministerial committee on financial cybercrimes

The government has decided to set up an inter-ministerial committee to monitor implementation of measures to check rise in financial cybercrimes.

• The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh where he reviewed measures being taken to arrest the growing trend of cybercrime in the financial sector.
• He expressed concern over the disturbing rise in cyber frauds using cards and e-wallets in particular.

33. Singapore to set up Skill Center in Northeast

The Government of Singapore will set up a Skill Center at Guwahati which will cater to the entire North-Eastern region.

• This was stated by Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh.
• As far as Skill Centre at Guwahati, it was stated that an MoU has already been formalized between Singapore and the State Government of Assam.
• As a follow-up to this, a Skill Center is proposed to be set up at Guwahati by the year 2019 and the Ministry of DoNER will coordinate in this initiative.

35. Dr Jitendra Singh to inaugurate first ‘Pension Adalat’

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh will inaugurate the first ‘Pension Adalat’ on 20th September.

• He will also award the Pensioners for their outstanding contribution towards ‘Anubhav’ – a platform for retiring employees for sharing their experience of working with Government.
• Moving ahead from e-governance to m-governance, a Mobile App has been created to avail the services of Pensioners’ Portal which will also be launched by Dr Jitendra Singh.
• As a measure of welfare to the pensioners of Government of India, a workshop on Pre-Retirement Counseling (PRC) of 300 retiring Central Government employees is also scheduled to be held.  The event is being organized by Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India.
• The objective of this workshop is to create awareness about the post-retirement entitlements as well as an advance planning for life after retirement.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released 'People First' mobile application for grievance redressal at the Collectors' conference in Vijayawada.

• Chairing a Collectors' Conference, Chandrababu Naidu said that under this application, people of Andhra Pradesh can dial 1100 to register complaints about government services and schemes.

40. Mazagon Dock Ltd delivered 1st scorpion class submarines to Indian Navy

The state-owned Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai delivered the first of six scorpion class submarines to the Indian Navy. The submarine, INS Kalvari will be commissioned soon.

• A senior Navy official said, the development marks a major milestone in Indian Navy's submarine programme as the vessel is expected to bolster India's maritime prowess.
• The six submarines designed by French naval defence and energy company DCNS, will replace the Indian Navy's aging Sindhughosh and Shishumar class of submarines.

41. Andhra Pradesh to be declared ODF by March 2018

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, announced that Andhra Pradesh will be declared ODF by March 2018.

• This was announced during a Collectors’ Conference in Vijaywada, as a part of the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign.
• Adding momentum to this drive more than 2 lakhs toilet pits were dug on 17th September in Madhya Pradesh. These are targeted to be converted into one lakh toilets by 2nd October.

42. NHRC National Seminar on Good Governance, Development and Human Rights

The Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh said that in Indian culture, the focus has always been on duties and not on rights; if everybody attends to his duties, the rights of all automatically get protected.

• He was addressing at a National seminar on Good Governance, Development and Human Rights, organized by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
• He said that the concept of Human Rights in the centuries old Indian ethos is rooted in peace, unlike the West where it shaped up with conflict post- World War-II.

43. India Signs 76 Million US Dollar Loan Deal with JICA

The Government of India signed a loan deal worth $76 million with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), for a project to upgrade the environment management plan at Alang-Sosiya ship recycling yards.

• The total cost of the project will be $ 111 million, out of which $76 million will be provided as soft loan from JICA.
• Out of the remaining amount, $25 million as taxes and fees will be borne by Government of Gujarat and the balance $10 million will be shared by Ministry of Shipping & Government of Gujarat.
• The project will be executed by Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) and is likely to be completed by 2022.

44. Amazon India ties up with Bank of Baroda for micro lending

 

E-commerce giant Amazon India has tied up with Bank of Baroda to offer unsecured micro loans as small as Rs 1 lakh up to Rs 25 lakh in a short span of three-five days.

• The interest rates would be competitive and would help small and medium businesses or sellers on the Amazon platform get access to easy loans, which will help boost their working capital and also help in the growth of their business.

45. IndusInd Bank secures $200 mn loan from ADB for microlending

 

IndusInd Bank has secured up to $200 million (about Rs 1,282 crore) loan from Asian Development Bank (ADB) to serve low-income women borrowers in rural areas.

• The seven-year senior loan will go towards IndusInd Bank’s micro-finance activities, the private players said in a statement.
• As per the loan agreement, about 95 per cent of the ADB funding will go towards credit for women borrowers.
• At least 70 per cent of the number of loans will be deployed to less developed states.

46. Govt considering its own cryptocurrency

 

The Central government is considering a proposal to introduce its cryptocurrency similar to Bitcoin.

• Sources also said the government might name its cryptocurrency “Lakshmi”. 
• Proposal was discussed by a committee of government officials, and the panel found the idea of setting up and running blockchain for financial services useful.

India's dream for high horse power locomotive moved closer to reality with the arrival of the first bodyshell of 12000 HP loco from Alstom France at Kolkata port.

• This first-of-its-kind high-power electric locomotive will be used to haul freight trains at twice the existing speed by next year.
• In November 2015, the public transporter inked a contract with the French company to manufacture 800 such train engines over the next 11 years in a joint venture at the Madhepura locomotive factory in Bihar.
• This is the first major FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) project in the rail sector.

50. State-run PSUs sign MoU to form Khanij Bidesh India Ltd

National Aluminium Company (Nalco), Hindustan Copper (HCL)and MECL, three state-run PSUs, have signed an MoU to form a joint venture Khanij Bidesh India Ltd (Kabil).

• The proposed JV will identify, explore, acquire, develop and process strategic minerals overseas for commercial use and to meet domestic supply needs.
• The JV will deal in 12 strategic minerals that are either not available in the country or the quantity available is lower than requirement.

51. OECD cuts India's FY18 growth outlook

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has trimmed India’s growth forecast for the current financial year, citing the temporary impact of the rollout of the goods and services tax and demonetisation.

• OECD said India’s economy will likely grow 6.7% in FY18, lower than its estimate of 7.3% in June.
• In contrast, China’s economy gets a 0.2% lift from its earlier assessment to 6.8% for 2017.

54. Akshay Kumar Appointed Brand Ambassador For Swachh Bharat Mission In Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced the appointment of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as the brand ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission in the state.

• Akshay was also appointed as the brand ambassador for the cleanliness campaign in Uttar Pradesh last month and his film "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" was made tax free in the state.
• The movie stresses on the importance of building toilets and ending open defecation in the country.

55. Y.C Modi named NIA chief

Senior IPS officer Y.C Modi, who was part of the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team that probed the 2002 Gujarat riot cases, was named chief of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

• The federal probe agency is tasked with probing terrorism and terror-financing related cases.
• Another senior IPS officer, Rajni Kant Misra, has been appointed Director General of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

56. Economist Mercedes Araoz sworn in as Peru's new prime minister

Peru's Second Vice President, Mercedes Araoz, an economist, was sworn in as the new head of the Council of Ministers - known as the prime minister - formed by 13 members of the cabinet.

• Araoz, 56, took the oath of office before President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski at a ceremony held at the Government Palace in Lima, where five other new ministers were also sworn in and another 13 such appointments were confirmed by the president.

India has appointed Ajay Bisaria as the new high commissioner to Pakistan replacing Gautam Bambawale.

• Bisaria was presently serving as the Indian ambassador to Poland and the new high commissioner will reach Pakistan in October.

59. Sambamurthy appointed as NPCI interim Board chairman   

The Board of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), the umbrella organisation for all retail payment systems in the country, announced the unanimous appointment of B Sambamurthy as interim Chairman of the Board.

Two U.S. scientists, whose work has contributed to creating immunological treatments for cancer, and an Indian economist are among the winners of this year’s Balzan Prizes by International Balzan Prize Foundation.

• Indian economist Bina Agarwal, a professor at the University of Manchester, is recognised in the gender studies category for her “heroic” work studying women’s contributions to agriculture in India.

Bollywood star Salman Khan has received a Global Diversity Award at Britain’s House of Commons.

• Salman received the award from Keith Vaz, British Parliament’s longest-serving Asian MP.

63. Nigerian lawyer gets top UN peace prize

A Nigerian lawyer who helped secure the release of more than 100 schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram was awarded one of the United Nations’ top prizes.

• The UNHCR said Zannah Mustapha was given the annual Nansen award for his ‘crucial mediating’ role as well as his work helping children affected by the long-running conflict.
• Mr. Mustapha set up The Future Prowess Islamic Foundation School 10 years ago, which has since proved a lifeline for children in conflict-riven and impoverished northeast Nigeria.

64. Riz Ahmed becomes first Asian man to win an acting Emmy

Riz Ahmed has become the first man of Asian descent to win an acting award at the Emmys. He is a British actor of Pakistani descent.

• The two actors of Asian descent who have won at the Emmys earlier are British-Indian Archie Panjabi and Iranian-American actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.
• Riz won at the 69th Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie category for his role in "The Night Of".

66. Pune NGO for women farmers wins UN Equator Prize

Swayam Shikshan Prayog (SSP), a Pune-based non-governmental organisation working among women farmers, has won this year’s UN Equator Prize.

• SSP is the only Indian organisation among the 15 winners that were chosen from 800-odd entries.
• The award recognises SSP’s initiative to empower over 20,000 women farmers from the impoverished Marathwada region in Maharashtra.

67. TOP athletes to get monthly stipend of Rs 50,000

Elite athletes preparing for Tokyo Olympics, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games will receive a stipend of Rs 50,000 per month to meet their pocket expenses, sports minister Rajyavardhan Rathore announced.

• Rathore's announcement meant that the sports ministry has accepted the recommendation of the Olympic Task Force, headed by Abhinav Bindra, in this regard.
• The government has selected 152 elite athletes under the Target Olympic Podium scheme. The stipend will be paid with effect from September 1.

PV Sindhu won the Korea Open Super Series title with a 22-20, 11-21, 21-18 win over Japan's Nozomi Okuhara.

69. India exempts import duty on goods for FIFA U-17 World Cup

The government has exempted from import duty sports items and a wide range of goods for the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup India, which will see 24 nations vying for the coveted trophy.

• The first FIFA event to be held in India will be spread over six cities starting October 6 and have 52 matches.
• The final football match, on October 28, will be played at Kolkata's Salt Lake Stadium.
• These goods will also be exempt from the integrated tax levied under the GST.

71. Purnima clinches pentathlon gold

India won its first athletics gold, through Purnima Hembram in women’s pentathlon, in the fifth Asian indoor and martial arts games at Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

• India also got two silvers, through Sanjivani Jadhav in women’s 3000m and Tejinder Singh Toor in men’s shot put, and a bronze through Kerala’s V. Neena in women’s long jump.

73. Arjan Singh, India's first ever IAF Marshal, passes away

Marshal of the Indian Air Force Arjan Singh, one of Independent India’s most celebrated soldiers, passed away in the national capital on Saturday. He was 98.

• One of the heroes of the 1965 war with Pakistan, Arjan Singh became the chief of IAF when he was just 44. Born on 15 April 1919, in Lyalpur, now called Faisalabad, in today’s Pakistan, Singh was selected for the Empire Pilot training course at RAF Cranwell, at the age of 19 in 1938.
• On August 1, 1964, Singh took over as the Chief of Air Staff (CAS) in the rank of Air Marshal.
• After his retirement in July 1969, he was appointed Indian ambassador to Switzerland.

74. BJP MP Mahant Chand Nath dies of cancer at 61

BJP MP from Alwar and Baba Mastnath Matth head Mahant Chand Nath passed away after a prolonged illness at a private hospital in New Delhi.

• The 61-year-old Mahant, who headed Baba Mastnath Matth, Rohtak, had won the Alwar seat in the 2014 parliamentary elections after defeating Congress candidate and former union minister Jitendra Singh.

75. Jamaica’s Violet Brown dies at 117; Japan woman now oldest

The world’s oldest person has died in Jamaica. Violet Brown was 117 years and 189 days old.

• With her death, the Gerontology Research Group lists Nabi Tajima of Japan was the oldest surviving person. She was born on Aug. 4, 1900.

76. Dr Kirpal Chugh, India’s father of nephrology, dies at 85

Dr Kirpal Singh Chugh, fondly called father of nephrology in India, has passed away. He was 85.

• Belonging to Patti in Tarn Taran, he was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, in 2000.
• He is the first Indian to receive the Bywaters Award by the International Society of Nephrology (ISN).
• Nephrology is the study of normal kidney function and kidney problems, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney problems.

77. Yesteryear actor Shakila passes away

Yesteryear Bollywood actor Shakila, known for her work in films like Aar Paar and CID, died at at her residence after a heart attack. She was 82.

• Besides her roles in Guru Dutt classics like Aar Paar and CID, Shakila also starred with Shammi Kapoor in Shakti Samanta’s hit China Town.
• She also featured opposite Raj Kapoor in the 1960 social drama Shriman Satyawadi.
