1. भारत एक रैंक गिरकर आठवां सबसे मूल्यवान नेशन ब्रांड

भारत आठवां सबसे मूल्यवान नेशन ब्रांड है, जबकि संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने शीर्ष स्थान बरकरार रखा है और चीन ने ब्रांड फाइनेंस के नेशन ब्रैंड्स 2017 के अनुसार राष्ट्रों के लीग में दूसरे स्थान पर कब्जा किया है।

• रिपोर्ट में कहा गया है कि पिछले साल की तुलना में भारत एक स्थान नीचे चला गया, क्योंकि भारत ने अपनी सबसे धीमी वृद्धि दर्ज की है।
• चीन, 2017 में सबसे तेज़ी से बढ़ रहा नेशन ब्रांड है, जिसका मूल्यांकन 44 प्रतिशत बढा है।

2. राष्ट्रपति ने 100 करोड़ रुपये के शुद्ध पानी की पहल की शुरूआत की

केरल के मठ मुख्यालय में ग्रामीण भारत के लिए माता अमृतानंदमयी मठ के 100 करोड़ रुपये की स्वच्छ पानी पहल को राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने शुरू किया।

• कोविंद, जो पद संभालने के बाद दक्षिणी राज्य की अपनी पहली यात्रा पर हैं, ने 'जीवनमृतम' निस्पंदन सिस्टम का उद्घाटन किया, जिसमें पूरे देश में 10 मिलियन ग्रामीणों को स्वच्छ पेयजल उपलब्ध कराने की परिकल्पना की गई है।
• यह कार्यक्रम आध्यात्मिक भक्त माता अमृतानंदमयी देवी के 64 वें जन्मदिन समारोह के रूप में आयोजित किया गया था, जिन्हें उनके भक्तों में लोकप्रिय रूप से 'अम्मा' के रूप में जाना जाता है।

3. प्रधानमंत्री ने सघन मिशन इंद्रधनुष का उद्घाटन किया

प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने कहा है कि यदि टीके से किसी रोग का इलाज संभव है तो किसी भी बच्चे को टीके का अभाव नहीं होना चाहिए।

• प्रधानमंत्री आज गुजरात के वडनगर में सघन मिशन इंद्रधनुष का शुभारंभ कर रहे थे।
• उन्होंने कहा कि इस कार्यक्रम के जरिए भारत सरकार ने दो वर्ष की आयु के प्रत्येक बच्चे और उन गर्भवती माताओं तक पहुंचने का लक्ष्य रखा है जो टीकाकरण कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत यह सुविधा नहीं पा सके हैं।
• विशेष अभियान के तहत टीकाकरण पहुंच में सुधार के लिए चुने हुए जिलों और राज्यों में दिसंबर 2018 तक पूर्ण टीकाकरण से 90 प्रतिशत से अधिक का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
• मिशन इंद्रधनुष के अंतर्गत 2020 तक पूर्ण टीकाकरण का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।
• इसके तहत 90 प्रतिशत क्षेत्रों को शामिल किया जाना है।

4. प्रधान मंत्री ने बांध परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 4,337 करोड़ रुपये की भदभुत बैराज परियोजना के लिए नींव का पत्थर रखा, जिसका उद्देश्य नर्मदा नदी पर लवणता को बंद करना है।

• मोदी ने अपने दो दिवसीय गुजरात दौरे के दूसरे दिन सुरत के उधना और बिहार में जयनगर के बीच एक नई ट्रेन को झंडी दिखाई।
• प्रधान मंत्री ने गुजरात नर्मदा घाटी फर्टिलाइजर्स कंपनी लिमिटेड (जीएनएफसी) की विभिन्न नीम से संबंधित परियोजनाओं का भी उद्घाटन किया और कहा कि उनकी सरकार ने 100 प्रतिशत नीम-लेपित यूरिया का विचार रखा है और समस्या को हल करने में मदद की है। किसानों द्वारा यूरिया की कमी की समस्या का समाधान किया है।

5. 9 राज्यों में वित्तीय साक्षरता अभियान लॉन्च करेगा आरबीआई

आरबीआई ई-लेनदेन, औपचारिक क्षेत्र उधारी और बीमा खरीद पर शिक्षित करने के लिए 9 राज्यों के 80 ब्लॉकों में जल्द ही एक वित्तीय साक्षरता अभियान शुरू करेगा।

• जमाराशि शिक्षा और जागरूकता फंड साथ पंजीकृत छह गैर-सरकारी संगठनों - क्रिसिल फाउंडेशन, धन फाउंडेशन, स्वाधार फिन एक्सेस, इंडियन स्कूल ऑफ मायक्रो फाइनेंस फॉर विमेन (आईएसएमडब्ल्यू), समर्पित और पेस फाउंडेशन को पायलट परियोजना को अंजाम देने के लिए चुना गया है।
• तीन साल की अवधि में पायलट परियोजना की कुल लागत 18.40 करोड़ रुपये है।
• सीएफएल का उद्देश्य एक घरेलू बजट बनाने और वित्तीय लेनदेन रिकॉर्ड करने, बचत खातों में लेनदेन को प्रोत्साहित करने, और सावधि जमाओं और आवर्ती जमाराशियों के माध्यम से बैंकों में जमा करके सक्रिय बचत को प्रोत्साहित करना है।

6. भारत की अनुपमा ने स्नूकर इवेंट जीता

भारत की अनुपमा रामचंद्रन और वेल्स के डेलन एमरी ने सेंट पीटर्सबर्ग रूस में क्रमशः लड़कियों और लड़कों की श्रेणी में वर्ल्ड ओपन अंडर -16 स्नूकर चैम्पियनशिप खिताब जीता है।

• फेडरेशन ऑफ बिलियर्ड्स स्पोर्ट्स ऑफ रूस ने अंडर -16 लड़कों और लड़कियों के लिए पहली बार विश्व ओपन चैम्पियनशिप की मेजबानी की, जिसमें दुनिया भर के 73 प्लेयर्स ने भाग लिया।

7. संधू ने यांगडर टीपीसी में पहला एशियाई टूर खिताब जीता

भारतीय गोल्फर अजीतेश संधू ने शानदार दो अंडर 70 के स्कोर से ताइपे में 500,000 यूएसए डॉलर के यांगडर टूर्नामेंट प्लेयर्स चैम्पियनशिप (टीपीसी) में अपना पहला एशियाई टूर खिताब जीता।

लुईस हैमिल्टन ने सेबस्टियन वेट्टेल के चार लैप के बाद इंजन की विफलता के साथ सेवानिवृत्त होने के बाद जापानी ग्रैंड प्रिक्स जीतते हुए चौथे विश्व खिताब पर कब्जा करने की दिशा में कदम बढाया।

India is ranked the eighth most valuable nation brand while the United States retained its top position and China took the second spot in the league of nations according to Brand Finance’s Nation Brands 2017.

• India went down one spot over the previous year, the report said, because the economy grew at its slowest pace.
• China, the fastest growing nation brand in 2017, saw valuation grow 44 per cent. 

2. Prez launches Rs 100 crore clean water initiative

President Ram Nath Kovind launched Mata Amritanandamayi Math's Rs 100 crore clean water initiative for rural India at the math headquarters in Kerala.

• Kovind, who is on his maiden visit to the southern state after assuming office, inaugurated the
• 'Jivamritam' filtration system, envisaged to provide clean drinking water to 10 million villagers across the nation.
• The programme was organised as part of the 64th birthday celebrations of spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly known as 'Amma' among her devotees.

3. Prime Minister launches Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI)

"Let no child suffer from any vaccine-preventable disease".

• This was stated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) at Vadnagar in Gujarat.
• Through this programme, Government of India aims to reach each and every child under two years of age and all those pregnant women who have been left uncovered under the routine immunisation programme.
• The special drive will focus on improving immunization coverage in select districts and cities to ensure full immunization to more than 90% by December 2018.
• The achievement of full immunisation under Mission Indradhanush to at least 90% coverage was to be achieved by 2020 earlier.
• With the launch of IMI, achievement of the target has now been advanced.

4. PM lays foundation stone for Bhadbhut barrage project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Rs 4,337-crore Bhadbhut Barrage project h which aims to stop the ingress of salinity along the Narmada river.

• Modi, on the second day of his two-day visit to poll- bound Gujarat, also flagged off a new train between Udhna in Surat and Jaynagar in Bihar.
• The prime minister also inaugurated various neem-related projects of the Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company Limited (GNFC), and said the idea of 100 per cent neem-coated urea, conceived by his government, has stopped its pilferage and helped in addressing the problem of urea shortage faced by farmers.

5. RBI to launch financial literacy drive in 9 states

The Reserve Bank will soon launch a financial literacy drive in 80 blocks in nine states on pilot basis to educate people on e-transactions, formal sector borrowings and insurance purchases.

• Six NGOs registered with the Depositor Education and Awareness Fund -- CRISIL Foundation, Dhan Foundation, Swadhaar Fin Access, Indian School of Micro Finance for Women (ISMW), Samarpit and the PACE Foundation -- have been selected to execute the pilot project in collaboration with banks.
• The total cost of the pilot project over a period of three years is Rs 18.40 crore.
• The aim of the CFL is to inculcate the habit of making a household budget and recording financial transactions, encourage transactions in savings accounts, and active saving by depositing in banks through fixed deposits and recurring deposits.

6. India's Anupama wins inaugural snooker meet

Anupama Ramachandran of India and Dylan Emery of Wales have claimed the World Open Under-16 Snooker Championship titles in the girls and boys category, respectively, in St. Petersburg Russia.

• Federation of Billiards Sports of Russia hosted this first ever World Open championships for Under-16 boys and girls, which was a success with total participation of 73 cueists from across the world.

7. Sandhu wins first Asian Tour title at Yeangder TPC

Indian golfer Ajeetesh Sandhu fired a superb two-under 70 to clinch his maiden Asian Tour title at the USD 500,000 Yeangder Tournament Players Championship (TPC) in Taipei.

• The 28-year-old sunk three birdies against a lone bogey to return with a winning total of 12-under 276 to defeat USA's Johannes Veerman (71) by one-shot at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club.

8. Hamilton roars to Japan win

Lewis Hamilton romped to victory at the Japanese Grand Prix to close in on a fourth world title after Sebastian Vettel retired with engine failure on lap four.

• Max  Verstappen finished second and Daniel Ricciardo secured third spot.
• Valtteri Bottas finished fourth and Kimi Raikkonen's Ferrari finished fifth.
