1. वर्ल्ड तेलगु सम्मेलन हैदराबाद में शुरू

विश्व तेलगू सम्मेलन लाल बहादुर स्टेडियम हैदराबाद में शुरू हुआ।

• भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने तेलंगाना और आन्ध्र प्रदेश के राज्यपाल ईएसएल नरसिंहन और महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल सी विद्यासागर राव, मुख्यमंत्री के चंद्रशेखर राव और अन्य की उपस्थिति में सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन किया।
• सम्मेलन में 42 देशों के लगभग 400 प्रतिनिधि भाग ले रहे हैं।

 2. राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद ने 'न्‍याय ग्राम' परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी

भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविंद ने इलाहाबाद में 16 दिसंबर, 2017 को इलाहाबाद उच्च न्यायालय की न्याय ग्राम परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी।

• इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए, राष्ट्रपति ने कहा कि न्यायपालिका की आजादी हमारे लोकतंत्र का आधार है।
• भारत की विश्वसनीयता एक निडर और स्वतंत्र न्यायपालिका द्वारा बढ़ती है।

3. भारत-मालदीव अभ्यास एक्यूवरिन बेलगावी में शुरू

भारत और मालदीव ने बेलगावी में अपना आठवां वार्षिक संयुक्त सैन्य प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम एकुवेरिन अभ्यास शुरू कर दिया है।

• अभ्यास बेलागावी में संयुक्त संचालन केंद्र को सक्रिय करने के लिए दोनों सेनाओं के लिए एक अवसर होगा।
• इस अभ्यास का उद्देश्य दोनों सेनाओं के बीच अंतर-क्षमता बढ़ाना है।

4. मेघालय ने भारत के पहले सामाजिक लेखा परीक्षा कानून की शुरुआत की

मेघालय भारत में पहला राज्य बन गया है जिसने एक कानून किया है जो उन सरकारी कार्यक्रमों और योजनाओं की सामाजिक लेखापरीक्षा करेगा जो सरकारी अभ्यास का एक हिस्सा हैं।

• शिलांग में राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन में मुख्यमंत्री मुकुल संगमा ने 'मेघालय कम्युनिटी पार्टिसिपेशन एंड पब्लिक सर्विसेज सोशल ऑडिट एक्ट, 2017' का शुभारंभ किया।
• अब तक, सिविल सोसाइटी संगठनों की पहल पर सरकारी कार्यक्रमों की सामाजिक लेखा परीक्षाएं पूरी की जाती रही हैं।

5. मोदी ने आइजॉल में 60 मेगावाट जल विद्युत परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया

प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने आइजॉल में 60 मेगावाट की तुइरियल जल विद्युत परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया।

• यह मिजोरम में पहली बड़ी जल विद्युत परियोजना है, जिससे राज्य के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास को बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
• उन्होंने आगे कहा कि इस परियोजना से पर्यावरण पर्यटन को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और पेयजल आपूर्ति का एक स्रोत उपलब्ध होगा।

6. जीएसटी परिषद ने ई-वे बिल को मंजूरी दी

वस्तु एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) परिषद ने अपनी 24वीं बैठक में वस्तुओं को एक राज्य से दूसरे राज्य ले जाने के लिए इलेक्ट्रोनिक परमिट को आवश्यक बनाते हुए ई-वे बिल व्यवस्था को एक फरवरी से लागू करने की मंजूरी दे दी।

• ई-वे बिल सिस्टम, जो कि 16 जनवरी से व्यवसायों द्वारा स्वैच्छिक रूप से अपनाने के लिए परीक्षण आधार पर उपलब्ध होगा, कर अधिकारियों को माल की सीमा पार करने की आवाजाही की निगरानी में मदद करेगा और वस्तुओं के कम-मूल्यांकन की जांच भी करेगा।
• राज्यों के पास अंतर-राज्य माल आवाजाही के लिए राष्ट्रीय ई-वे बिल प्रणाली को लागू करने के लिए 1 जून तक का समय है।

7. यूआईडीएआई की एयरटेल, एयरटेल बैंक की आधार-लिंक्ड ई-केवाईसी सेवाओं पर रोक

भारतीय विशिष्ट पहचान प्राधिकरण (यूआईडीएआई) ने सुविधा के कथित दुरुपयोग के लिए दूरसंचार प्रमुख भारती एयरटेल और एयरटेल पेमेंट बैंक के "आधार लिंक्ड ई-केवाईसी" सेवाओं को अस्थायी रूप से निलंबित कर दिया है।

• यूआईडीएआई के अंतरिम आदेश के बाद टेलिकॉम प्रमुख के कुछ ग्राहकों ने आरोप लगाया है कि कंपनी ने “ई-केवाईसी सेवाओं" का इस्तेमाल बिना उनकी सहमति के करते हुए एयरटेल पेमेंट बैंक में उनका बैंक खाता खोल दिया।
• यूआईडीएआई की "आधार लिंक्ड ई-केवाईसी" सेवा सेवा प्रदाता को पहचान और पहचान के प्रमाण, जन्म तिथि और लिंग, निवासी का मोबाइल नंबर और ईमेल पते के साथ प्रमाण का एक त्वरित इलेक्ट्रॉनिक प्रमाण प्रदान करती है।

8. पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्हीलचेयर क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट नेपाल में आयोजित

नेपाल के काठमांडू में पहली बार अंतर्राष्ट्रीय व्हीलचेयर क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट का आयोजन किया गया है।

• टूर्नामेंट में नेपाल, भारत और बांग्लादेश की टीमों ने हिस्सा लिया जो सुशील कोइराला मेमोरियल फाउंडेशन और काठमांडू क्रिकेट ट्रेनिंग सेंटर से तकनीकी सहायता द्वारा समर्थित है।

1. World Telugu Conference begins in Hyderabad

The World Telugu Conference began at Lal Bahadur Stadium Hyderabad.

• Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu inaugurated the conference in the presence of Governor of Telangana and AP E.S.L. Narasimhan and Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and other dignitaries.
• About 400 delegates from 42 countries were participating in the conference.

2. President of India Lays Foundation Stone of ‘NYAYA GRAM’ Project

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, laid the foundation stone of the Nyaya Gram project of the High Court of Allahabad on December 16, 2017 in Allahabad.

• Speaking on the occasion, the President said freedom of the judiciary is a cornerstone of our democracy.
• India’s credibility is enhanced by a fearless and independent judiciary.

3. Indo-Maldives ‘Exercise Ekuverin’ begins in Belagavi

India and the Maldives have begun Exercise Ekuverin, their eighth annual joint military training event, in Belagavi.

• The exercise will be an opportunity for the two armies to activate the Joint Operations Centre at Belagavi.
• The exercise is aimed at enhancing interoperability between the two armies.

4. Meghalaya launches India’s first social audit law 

Meghalaya has become the first state in India to operationalise a law that makes social audit of government programmes and schemes a part of government practice.

• Chief Minister Mukul Sangma launched ‘The Meghalaya Community Participation and Public Services Social Audit Act, 2017’, at a national convention in Shillong.
• So far, social audits of government programmes have been done at the initiative of civil society organisations.

5. PM Modi inaugurates 60 MW Tuirial hydropower project in Aizawl

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the 60 MW Tuirial hydropower project in Aizawl.

• It is the first large hydropower project in Mizoram which will boost the socio-economic development of the state.
• He further said this project will boost eco-tourism and provide a source of assured drinking water supply.

6. GST Council clears e-way bill mechanism

In order to provide seamless movement of goods across state borders, the Goods and Service Tax (GST) Council at its 24th meeting decided to make electronic permits compulsory for inter-state movement of goods from 1 February.

• The e-way bill system, which will be available on a trial basis for voluntary adoption by businesses from 16 January, will also help the tax authorities to monitor cross-border movement of consignments and check instances of under-valuation of goods.
• States have time till 1 June to implement the national e-way bill system for intra-state goods movement.

7. UIDAI puts Airtel, Airtel Bank’s Aadhaar-linked e-KYC services on hold

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has temporarily suspended telecom major Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank’s “Aadhaar linked e-KYC” services for alleged misuse of the facility.

• UIDAI’s interim order comes after some customers of the telecom major alleged that the company had opened their bank account in Airtel Payments Bank when they used the “Aadhaar linked e-KYC services” without their consent.
• The “Aadhaar linked e-KYC” service of UIDAI provides an instant, electronic, non-repudiable proof of identity and proof of address along with date of birth and gender, resident’s mobile number and email address to the service provider.

8. Nepal hosts first International Wheelchair Cricket Tournament

The first ever International Wheelchair Cricket Tournament was organised in Nepal's Kathmandu.

• The tournament has participation of teams from Nepal, India and Bangladesh which is supported by the Sushil Koirala Memorial Foundation and technical assistance from the Kathmandu Cricket Training Center.
