1. मोबाइल इंटरनेट स्पीड में भारत 109वें और फिक्स्ड ब्रॉडबैंड में 76वें स्थान पर

ओक्ला के नवंबर स्पीडटेस्ट ग्लोबल इंडेक्स में भारत का मोबाइल इंटरनेट स्पीड में 109वां स्थान है और फिक्स्ड ब्रॉडबैंड स्पीड में 76वां स्थान है, जहां देश की औसत मोबाइल गति 8.8 एमबीपीएस और ब्रॉडबैंड की गति 18.82 एमबीपीएस है।

• नॉर्वे मोबाइल इंटरनेट के मामले में दुनिया में पहले नंबर पर है जहां नवंबर की औसत डाउनलोड गति 62.66 एमबीपीएस की थी।
• सिंगापुर 153.85 एमबीपीएस की औसत डाउनलोड गति के साथ फिक्स्ड ब्रॉडबैंड श्रेणी में प्रथम रहा।

2. राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस: 22 दिसंबर

भारत में, 22 दिसंबर को राष्ट्रीय गणित दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया गया है।

• यह घोषणा 2012 में श्रीनिवास रामानुजन की 125 वीं जयंती के अवसर पर भारत के पूर्व प्रधान मंत्री डॉ मनमोहन सिंह ने की थी।
• डॉ मनमोहन सिंह ने यह भी घोषणा की थी कि वर्ष 2012 राष्ट्रीय गणित वर्ष के रूप में मनाया जाएगा।

3. छात्रों को विदेश नीति बताने के लिए विदेश मंत्रालय ने एसएएमईईपी की शुरूआत की

विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय ने एक नए कार्यक्रम, समीप का शुभारंभ किया है, जिसका उद्देश्य भारतीय विदेश नीति और इसके वैश्विक कार्यक्रमों को देश भर में छात्रों तक ले जाना है।

• विदेश मंत्रालय ने अपने सभी अधिकारियों से अपने गृह नगरों की यात्रा के लिए और विशेष रूप से उनके अल्मा मेटर की यात्रा के लिए कहा है।
• यह विचार न केवल सामान्य छात्र को दुनिया में भारत के स्थान और भारत की वैश्विक महत्वाकांक्षाओं में दिलचस्पी दिलायेगी, बल्कि कैरियर विकल्प के रूप में राजनीति को देखना भी है।

4. भाजपा ने गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री के रूप में विजय रुपाणी को बरकरार रखा

गुजरात के मुख्यमंत्री विजय रूपानी को लगातार दूसरे कार्यकाल के लिए बनाए रखा जाएगा।

• नितिन पटेल भी उप मुख्यमंत्री बने रहेंगे।
• रुपानी ने राजकोट पश्चिम से गुजरात विधानसभा चुनाव जीता था।
• निर्दलीय विधायक और पूर्व कांग्रेस नेता रतनसिंह राठोड से समर्थन के चलते भाजपा के पास अब विधानसभा में 100 सीटें हैं।

5. लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी एस सहरावत ने एनसीसी के डीजी के रूप में पद संभाला

लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल बी एस सहरावत ने राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर के महानिदेशक के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया है।

• जनरल अधिकारी एक तीसरी पीढ़ी के सेना अधिकारी है।
• वह राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी, खडकवासला और भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी, देहरादून के पूर्व छात्र हैं।
• दिसंबर 1980 में उन्हें 13 वीं बटालियन (रेजांग ला), कुमाऊं रेजिमेंट में शामिल किया गया था।

6. एम सुब्बारायडू पेरू में भारत के राजदूत नियुक्त

श्री एम सुब्बारायडू, (आईएफएस: 1994) को पेरू गणराज्य में भारत के अगले राजदूत के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया है।

• उम्मीद है कि वह शीघ्र ही अपना कार्यभार संभालेंगे। वह वर्तमान में विदेश मामलों के मंत्रालय में संयुक्त सचिव हैं।

7. कोलकाता पुलिस ने NASSCOM-DSCI उत्कृष्टता पुरस्कार जीता

कोलकाता पुलिस के साइबर विभाग को इस साल के प्रतिष्ठित नास्कॉम-डीएससीआई उत्कृष्टता पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है।

• हाल ही में गुड़गांव में आयोजित एक अखिल भारतीय सुरक्षा संगोष्ठी के दौरान इस इसे सम्मानित किया गया था जहां देश भर में विभिन्न राज्य पुलिस बलों से साइबर इकाइयां शामिल हुई थीं।

8. पतंजलि भारत का सबसे विश्वसनीय एफएमसीजी ब्रांड

पतंजलि को ब्रैंड ट्रस्ट रिपोर्ट इंडिया स्टडी 2017 द्वारा भारत के सबसे विश्वसनीय फास्ट मूविंग कंज्यूमर गुड्स (एफएमसीजी) ब्रांड के रूप में स्थान दिया गया है।

• 16 शहरों से 11,000 ब्रांडों को ब्रैंड ट्रस्ट रिपोर्ट इंडिया स्टडी 2017 द्वारा कवर किया गया था।
• पतंजली आयुर्वेद लिमिटेड को रामदेव ने 2006 में आचार्य बालकृष्ण के साथ स्थापित किया था।

9. बर्मिंघम आधिकारिक तौर पर 2022 राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के मेजबान शहर के रूप में नामित

बर्मिंघम को 2022 में राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों की मेजबानी के लिए चुना गया है, जो 2012 में लंदन ओलंपिक के बाद से किसी इंग्लिश शहर द्वारा किया जाने वाला सबसे बड़ा खेल आयोजन है।

• बर्मिंघम ने 2026 संस्करण की मेजबानी करने के लिए सितंबर 2016 में बोली लगाने की प्रक्रिया शुरू की, लेकिन डरबन, दक्षिण अफ्रीका, जिसे मूल रूप से 2022 में होस्ट करने के लिए चुना गया था, इस साल मार्च में वित्तीय डेडलाइंस पूरा करने में असफल रहने के बाद उससे इस इवेंट को छीन लिया गया।

India has ranked 109th in mobile internet speeds and 76th in fixed broadband speeds in Ookla's November Speedtest Global Index, where the country's average mobile speed was 8.8 Mbps and broadband speed was 18.82 Mbps.

• Norway ranked first in the world for mobile internet, with an average download speed of 62.66 Mbps, as of November.
• Singapore led in the fixed broadband category, with a 153.85 Mbps average download speed.

2. National Mathematics Day: 22 December

In India, the day 'December 22 has been declared as the National Mathematics Day.

• The Declaration was made by Dr Manmohan Singh, Former Prime Minister of India, to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan in 2012.
• Dr Manmohan Singh also announced that the year 2012 would be celebrated as the National Mathematics Year.

3. MEA launches SAMEEP to take Indian foreign policy to students

The Ministry of External Affairs has launched a new programme, SAMEEP, aims to take Indian foreign policy and its global engagements to students across the country.

• The ministry of external affairs has asked all its officers on leave to travel to their hometowns and particularly their alma mater.
• The idea is not only to get the ordinary student to take an interest in India's place in the world and its global ambitions, but also to look at diplomacy as a career option.

4. BJP retains Vijay Rupani as Gujarat CM

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will be retained for a second term.

• Nitin Patel will remain his deputy chief minister.
• Rupani won the Gujarat Assembly election from Rajkot West.
• His party, the BJP, now has 100 seats in the Assembly, thanks to support from independent MLA and former Congress leader Ratansinh Rathod.

5. Lt Gen B S Sahrawat takes over as DG, NCC

Lieutenant General B S Sahrawat took over the reins of National Cadet Corps as its Director General.

• The General Officer is a third generation army officer.
• He is alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
• He was commissioned in December 1980 in 13th Battalion (Rezang La), the Kumaon Regiment.

6. M. Subbarayudu appointed Ambassador of India to Peru

Shri M. Subbarayudu, (IFS: 1994) has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Peru.

• He is expected to take up his assignment shortly. He is presently Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.

7. Kolkata Police wins NASSCOM-DSCI excellence award

The cyber section of Kolkata Police has been awarded with this year's prestigious NASSCOM-DSCI excellence award.

• The section was awarded during an All India Security Seminar recently held in Gurgaon where cyber units from different state police forces all across the country had participated.

8. Patanjali ranked India's most trusted FMCG Brand

 

Patanjali has been ranked as India's most trusted Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Brand by the Brand Trust Report India Study 2017.

• 11,000 brands across 16 cities were covered by The Brand Trust Report India Study 2017.
• The Patanjali Ayurved Limited was established in 2006 by Ramdev, along with Acharya Balkrishna.

9. Birmingham officially named as 2022 Commonwealth Games host city

 

Birmingham has been selected to host the Commonwealth Games in 2022, the biggest sporting event to be awarded to an English city since the London Olympics in 2012.

• Birmingham began the bidding process in September 2016 with its sights set on hosting the 2026 edition but Durban, South Africa, which was originally chosen to host in 2022, was stripped of the event in March this year after failing to meet a series of financial deadlines.
